DLA Wait Times Part 8 (2023)

It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

And just to add they Also told me they don't send letters to school anymore as it's to time consuming to way for a reply. He said they give school 48hrs to make contact. I felt more at ease yesterday after reading this I'm back being a nervous mess haha

@Macariosmummy you said in a previous post that the teacher completed the form. Do you think they want to find out why the previous school had concerns and this one doesn't? To get an Ed Psychologist in they must have seen good reason. Then this school isn't so supportive of it. Perhaps as it's conflicting evidence?
Just an idea as like @AdhdMumOf3 said she was told different. Maybe it does depend on what they have to go by. We're all different afterall and don't know what each person has written or what the evidence is. I really hope they see through this and go by the last school.

@AdhdMumOf3 i thought of what you said when he told me tbh, I am calling them back to ask how long they give the school to reply because if they made contact 1st feb that’s 2 weeks tomorrow 🤬 I just know that the school are useless they never contacted his old school Senco about his ASD referral and the old school were worried saying that my son can’t be getting the help he needs, it was his old school that approached me saying they believe he has Asperger’s it’s not like I have self diagnosed him

just got off the phone and the woman said she don’t know how long they give the school to reply and it will be up to the DM if he wants to wait for the reply or not 😢 this is all driving me crazy

Out school senco wrote in big letters on his adhd questionnaire that they don't believe he has adhd and they have no concerns, he was in the end diagnosed but if it was down the senco he's just a boy and they All behave like he does yet he's punched her, he's told her he wants to kill her and all her family but hey ho that's just boys haha.. I'm really crossing everything for you as I know how hard things are without school support your often made to think that it's all in your head when we know it's not, I'm just ringing back for clarification on what was said last night I'll prob be told something so different to what we've both been told already. It's just a mind boggle now xx

I'm not sure why some people are sencos when they have such little knowledge. I have my fingers crossed for you both.

More clarification from them, since it's half term they will wait for the senco to respond, I've already arranged a meeting for next week with regional director of our school as she knows my issues with the senco. Since the dm has made contact with senco he says they will have to follow that through as see what they're saying before a decision can be made so I've to ring back Wednesday next week and see what's happening if in the mean time I can push the senco to make contact I should but our senco as I say doesnr support us in any sense and never responds to emails or calls in term time so I have no chance in half term, I'm gonna try and switch off now until next week because what ever will be will be and all that jazz.. @AdhdMumOf3 when my son’s teacher filled out the ASD referral it was like she was talking about another child as she said he was perfectly fine with change, no sensory issues no anger issues apparently he plays with anyone and everyone (yet my son told me he has no friends at school) and I emailed her saying she hasn’t given him the time and support he needs as that isn’t him at all and no she don’t really talk to me when I pick him up from school she just gives me a look

how can Senco say your son don’t have ADHD when he has been diagnosed with it 🤦🏽‍♀️ I have fingers crossed for both of us it’s such a drain xx

@Scanner20 Hi sorry I only just saw your other comment, that is very true it could be that it is conflicting evidence. I don’t understand how one school believe he has Asperger’s but the other say his fine 🤷🏽‍♀️ I don’t know what the outcome of that would be x

I had a call today. MRC LRM from 5th birthday. Awarded for two years from now.

MRC from the date and as dc turned 5 recently they've given LRM from then.
I can relax now until renewal.

That’s really good news, and a good way to do it with the mobility for those of us with children who are really young

oh wow i called today to see if there was an update as we are at week 12 and she said i have another 3 weeks before its assigned to a DM and then 2 weeks after that! she said they just have a massive volume of claims to get through:( back to the waiting game

Hi, no not yet, they said it was awarded on the 10th Feb and backpack has been issues but takes between 3-5 working days
So hopefully by Friday.

@VickieC86 really? i rang an hour ago and she said 3 weeks to dm and 2 weeks after that! i wonder if they just like to make these dates up as they go along, it’s so annoying not knowing a yes or no :( hope you hear soon x

Seeing people from the 8th/9th November being awarded on the fb group. I reckon they just say that to stop people calling.
