DLA Wait Times Part 8 (2023)

It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

After a god awful day full of worries I rang back sorry to anyone trying to get through I'm prob jammin the lines, spoke to the most lovely man who said while they have contacted the senco for more information it's not an unlimited time scale for them to get back to them and I should ring back Wednesday and a decision should be made by then, if the senco doesn't respond the dm may want to ring me for more information which I'm all down for. Not sure what else they could want tbf I sent clinical reports, diagnosis letters, made them aware we are waiting for an asd assessment which current wait is 2 years, Sen Support plans, zones of regulation plans, all copies of every intervention he has at school, health care plan for his raynauds, screen shots of communication between me and his teachers over the past 3 years which outlines his struggles. The only thing I couldn't send was Ed psych report as he was only seen on Friday and no1 has a copy of that report.

Massive thankyou to everyone on this thread as you have made me realise I'm not alone in any of this and you've all been such a support even if I've only really lurked knowing you are all here has been a massive help xxx

@AdhdMumOf3 you've sent tons of information in by the sounds of it. You'd think that would be enough. With it being half term the senco may not respond. Fingers crossed for a good outcome next week.

I did tell them it was half term and not to expect a reply but he says they give them 2 full days to respond and if they don't they will make a decision without it. Im not holding my breath but I feel more at ease x

I agree with @Snickerdoodles19 about recording him. It does sound awful but I have done the same…videos of meltdowns, communication and certain behaviours.

It’s literally 1 battle after the next my son EHCP got sent off last summer still not heard anything he’s moved school and year group. Then there’s everything else inbetween

Hi does anyone know how long the back payments take please?

My son was awarded on the Tuesday and the back payment was in the bank on the friday.

Anyone calling today? I feel like calling again on the of chance it was done yesterday but I know it’s pointless to call everyday lol

@Macariosmummy if it will help settle your mind today then I'd call. You could be surprised and been awarded.

I just called, my daughter was awarded on the 10th and she's getting HRC and LRM. I can't believe it. The first thing to go her way after the constant battles and fights, I was preparing to have to fight. I'm shaking.
My scan date was 8/11

I have just spoke to them and the DM contacted the Senco at school 1st feb (which I wasn’t aware of at all and wasn’t told when I called yesterday or last week) and they last called Friday just gone but they Senco wasn’t available so now as it’s half term this week the DM may need to send out a letter and then we will have to wait until the school receives that and sends it back, I don’t think he is going to qualify now as Senco and his teacher are useless 😢

@LeaMack Congratulations that's fantastic news if you don't mind me asking have you received the back payment yet I have the same scan date

Really hoping not waiting till end of March like they said last week

That's totally different to what they told me last night regarding senco. He said they try twice and then male a decision without senco.. I really don't understand why we're all told different it makes it more confusing for everyone. Maybe they all need to start singing from the same hymn book then threads like this wouldn't be full of conflicting information from what we've all been told.. I really hope you get a positive outcome xx
