It's looking like we're going to need a new thread. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. Our scan date is 02/11 so it could be any day now, but most likely another week or two.

Would anyone be calling today?

WreckTangled · 10/02/2023 08:21

The man I spoke to, when I phoned to add more information, told me to call back on the 22nd which will be 14.5 weeks. Seems the best time to call is 9 though which is when I start work…

Chocolateandstrawberries · 10/02/2023 08:29

I might call later. Like before pick up time, least that way it will be given time if DM hasn’t done it by then

VickieC86 · 10/02/2023 09:00

Chocolateandstrawberries · 10/02/2023 09:35

To call back Wednesday or Thursday regarding the outcome -.-

Christinaja · 10/02/2023 09:41

Wishing everyone good luck.. just a quick reminder once DLA is accepted with MRC inform UC of the change so you will get Disabled child addition of £132.89 if it HRC Severely disabled child addition of £414.88 per month. Ask to be backdated from start of award claim and make the changes on your UC.. also you can claim cares element YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE CLAIMING CARES ALLOWANCE for this as long as 35hrs of care is provided just make the change on UC also this will also be backdated to start of claim. Good luck guys!!

gingergingerginger · 10/02/2023 10:13

Good luck to everyone still waiting for a decision. It sounds like they're getting slower, which is just awful. The waiting is exhausting. Hang in there.

Wheretheskyisblue · 10/02/2023 12:09

Does anyone know if it is possible to get an additional payment before notification that a claim is successful? I put in a manditory reconsideration for my son's award a few weeks ago and today received an additional payment. No text or other update about the claim though. The award seems to be the additional amount for approx 2 weeks.

LeaMack · 10/02/2023 12:35

I started calling this morning but hung up before they answered. I'm not bothering now until I hear back
I've resigned myself to a bad decision and the need to fight it. I don't need that to hurry up haha

Macariosmummy · 10/02/2023 14:45

Hi all I’ve been following this thread for a while but first time posting. First time applying and bit of a long story so hope you don’t mind.

so my son is 7 and in December 2021 we were moved into temp accommodation out of our area and he started a new school, one day I picked him up and found out he had hit another child (he had never done that before) anyway I got talking to his teacher about his behaviour and was telling her how he has meltdown literally cry’s about any/everything, he don’t sleep he has sensory issues etc etc so she got in touch with Senco and they had a meeting. The next day she tells me they think he has Asperger’s and explained everything to me and asked questions and she literally deceived him to a tee. They got him in touch with a educational psychologist and they done a report and was pushing for an assessment for ASD and were really supportive, they put things in place for him at school and at home.

fast forward to July last year we were moved into another temp house back in our area (as my daughter was starting secondary school) and he moved into another school, I explained to the new school how he is waiting to be assessed for ASD etc so they filled in new forms and done a referral (due to it being a new area we had to start from scratch) when I read the forms his new teacher had done it didn’t sound she was talking about my son as she said he has no sensory issues, he has no problems with strangers, he don’t mind change etc which is the complete opposite of my son. We were put in touch recently with an organisation to help with his assessment who have also referred us for a sleep clinic as my son doesn’t sleep much through the night.

anyway I applied for DLA (scan date 27th October) and the teacher had to write in the form and she has said he is fine at school, I sent in the evidence I had which is only the EP report, a long winded cover letter from myself and more recently a physio report (as he is in pain when walking) and the referral letter to the sleep clinic, I called DLA yesterday and they said his claim has been with a DM for a few days and we should hear by next week but I’m anxious that because I don’t have the support of the new school he won’t be entitled to anything 😢 has anyone else had anything similar to this?

sorry for long message thank you

Mammabear2023 · 10/02/2023 17:00

My scan date was 7/11. I just put my big girl pants on and called and we were awarded MRC yesterday. This thread has been my lifeline the last few weeks so I hope that gives people a bit of hope that they're getting closer. The wait would have been 13wks and 3 days.
