Hi everyone i started new thread as the other one was getting full my scan date is 23rd September still waiting for decision.

No I’d say renewals are taking longer as they aren’t being looked at until couple of weeks before they end, mine was renewed Monday and was due to end next Saturday

How much evidence did you send in? Also how long have peoples been awarded for?

I sent EHCP, educational psychologist report, 2 sssen reports and then 2 supporting letters from school.

i got renewed for 5 years mrc and lrm.

Does anyone no iff you can claim carers and carers element, im currently getting the element but was worried about claim the allowance as im on (PIP) myself and dont no if i can claim the carers allowance for my son while im on pip myself 🙄

@mammaov3 hey, I’m not 100% sure how it works with carers allowance but I’m sure they would deduct it from your UC/tax credits payment as it’s classed as an income if that makes sense, so what ever your payment amount is the carers allowance would get deducted off the total amount

Morning all I am new to all of this. My son was awarded yesterday and was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I can get discounts for days out etc for my son where do you go x

@jesskay morning! If you have a look on some websites for days out you may get a discount if you have a child with disabilities, all you need is their award letter☺️

Hi guys my scan date is 27th of October been of the phone to see what was going on the lady so rude didn't no anythink about my claim and couldn't tell me how long I had left to wait as any body heard anythink who is close to my scan date

@Vikmomof3 hi. My scan date 24th October I rang yesterday its with DM. It all depends on who you get on the phone some tell you nothing. Your claim shojld be with DM any time now i would imagine.Claims are currently been looked at around 13weeks and complete around 14weeks going off every one on this thread. Hope this helps. You can always ring back up and hopefully talk to someone about more helpful, I would advise ringing back up after 3 I could have been passed to DM by then.

@jesskay Brilliant 🤩 I have got a CEA card for cinema for my daughter. As long as you are getting the care component doesn’t matter what rate you can get one. You will get in cinema for free so just pay for your child. Just google CEA card and all the information is there. It’s saved us loads of money we go cinema quite a lot. We have watched Matilda 6 times so far I think I could play every role I know all the words 😂 xx

Anyone around the 24th had any news or rang up?

scan date was 24th Oct and got a text on Tues confirming my son qualifies but no idea what the rate will be.

How long does it take for carer’s allowance to be be processed? Does anyone know?

I can’t understand why some of the 24th have been allocated to DM and some haven’t just so frustrating having to wait 😢
