stressedoutmamm · 25/01/2023 12:04

Hey everyone, been following this thread. My scan date is 17th November, new claim for DLA for my 3 year old son. Just a waiting game I guess. Anyone got a similar scan date?

Donna2324 · 25/01/2023 12:24

Rang two days ago and it hadn’t been assigned anywhere I now have a plan that’s has been done from her class for her additional needs, not sure what this is called maybe I should ring and let them know I have this now?

AdhdMumOf3 · 25/01/2023 12:35

My scan date is 04/11.. Had to ring today as his asthma has got worse and he's been diagnosed with raynauds and was told I'm not entering week 12 they're looking at them from around week 12/13 and mine should be sorted by middle of next week. I'm not gonna hold my breath for it to be done that quickly though.

Christinaja · 25/01/2023 12:36

@Donna2324 I rang Monday first thing wasn't with DM rang today and it is not sure when it did go to DM should have asked just pleased it's now with DM. I would send any new evidence off, but I would imagine if its with DM it may not get there on time. Give them a ring 😊

Squishy1911 · 25/01/2023 12:38

@Donna2324 send it via recorded delivery it will get there tomorrow, put a cover letter on with your child’s and your details so it gets added on

Hello. I have a question about carers allowance. My daughter was awarded hrc lrm 25th August. I have applied for carers allowance. I've seen a few people being awarded carers from the date of the DLA award but some not. Has anyone else had theirs backdated over the 3 months. Thank you

Christinaja · 25/01/2023 12:39

@AdhdMumOf3 everyone claims seem to be handed to DM around week 13/14 with a decision around week 14? 13 and a half weeks for us just gone to DM said could take just over a week for a decision. Good luck

AdhdMumOf3 · 25/01/2023 12:44

I thought it was around 13/14 weeks that's what I'm going to go on. I highly doubt they'll be done by 12 and a half weeks haha that would be wishful thinking. Thankyou :)

stressedoutmamm · 25/01/2023 12:51

Are the weeks calculated from the scan date? Or from when you made the intial claim?
My scan date is the 17th Nov, but requested forms in September and returned 10th october.
I sent in some extra evidence on Monday this week, 1st class recorded, still not been delivered to them yet :(

This is a good question. They say they can backdate up to 3 months (on the government page) but since DLA decisions are taking longer than that, shouldn't they backdate until the award?

rachyd83 · 25/01/2023 13:07

You would think they would. I've seen a few that do get it back to the dla award date and some that dont. I'll wait and see 🤞x

They're calculated from the scan date, but if awarded its back payed to when you rang for the forms x

stressedoutmamm · 25/01/2023 13:17

Oh well that would make me only 10 weeks, long way to go. Oh well, should be plenty of time for the new evidence i sent on monday to be added to his claim before it gets to the decision maker. xx

pigsmightflyagain · 25/01/2023 13:17

Just following up. Scan date of 18th September 2022. I was losing the plot as everyone else with later dates had received news. Just received my letter in the post :). Middle rate care and lower rate mobility for the next four years for autism, sensory problems and hypermobility. Carers allowance is also safe. I'm happy and relieved.

Chaz5rascals · 25/01/2023 13:17

@stressedoutmamm hello our scan date is 14/11 so probably have at least 4 weeks to wait for a decision.

Shellbel10 · 25/01/2023 14:04

Does anyone know how long it takes for documents to be scanned onto their system

jesskay · 25/01/2023 14:08

Hi all just to let you know I just called I was down to receive a text and haven’t got one. My son was awarded HRM and LRM until 2025 I’m so happy please keep the faith xxd
