Thought I'd continue the thread as it had reached its limit.

My application will be awhile before any response but scanned 5 July and nothing yet.

@Snowpatrolling ah right no I don't think the back payments added on to your universal credit I think you get it in your bank after they work it out

Ok brill, I’ll keep you updated my end! I’ll check journal on Tuesday as doubt they’ll even look at it til then!

Shannon26 · 18/09/2022 14:39

@Snowpatrolling no bother, I'll let you know once I've heard from my case manager about backpayment and yeah I doubt they will till then now

Lau20x · 18/09/2022 20:51

Hey everyone. Just been catching up on the thread. So does your UC get backdated too or do you just a back payment of what your owed from DLA. Also my scan date was 23rd June but my letter envelope was stamped May 31st so will it be backdated from May?

Shannon26 · 18/09/2022 21:26

@Lau20x hey yes your uc will backdate the disabled child element, an I'm not sure as mine was just a change as my son already receives the disabled child element. But it does get backdated, the backpayment will be a separate payment from uc

I don’t know, I came back on to ask of the back dated payment would go onto my next universal credit payment or if I would get it earlier!!
im new to universal so not sure of time frames.

What did they say? I would have thought you just get it. Mine seems to be taking ages. I might give them a ring tomorrow x

Lynseyb91 · 19/09/2022 09:34

My sister said they send payment after decision but she had to ask a few times before they said they had sent it x

It will get back dated to scan date.

I didn’t think to ask when she phoned me to be honest, I didn’t realise you get an increase in universal til someone said!
hopefully won’t be to long.
mall she said on the phone was the decision maker had to authorise the back payment. The lady however has authorised the dla element so will get my payments added on on my normal uc pay dates.

Mumof3b · 19/09/2022 15:28

I had a reply saying they can see I’ve reported the changes but didn’t mention anything about back payment x

Girlmum25 · 20/09/2022 08:14

MissRedd · 20/09/2022 09:06

Just got off the phone to them, they said claims are currently taking 13 weeks and they are working up to the 22 of June. I'm on week 11 so a bit longer for me. 😫

Oh i’m 21st fingers crossed then this week.
I’ve convinced myself we’re not getting it now after so long.

Girlmum25 · 20/09/2022 09:26

They said mine is due to be looked at this week she said I will get a text with a decision. Fingers bloody crosses I've had enough 😂😂xx

Just got off phone. Lady said they looking at claims up to 22nd, so I'm out by a day which is annoying. But she was extremely helpful and has put a note asking for a text when decision is made and mine will be decided next week x

Stead05 · 20/09/2022 09:33

@Girlmum25 they told me more than once I would get a text when they’ve made a decision, I didn’t receive one. I phoned on Friday to be told she was awarded the day before, I got the payment today and still no text. Hope it’s not much longer for you all

Sarahjlk · 20/09/2022 09:47

I don’t know whether to ring or not.. don’t want to seem like I’m pestering but then don’t want them thinking i’m not overly fussed and my DS doesn’t need it.
a different question, if awarded do you get UC the disabled element automatically or do you already have to be receiving tax credits.
we don’t receive anything usually but i did set up an account for UC a while ago after i sent the dla off just in case.
do i update them if awarded and go from there? Thanks anyone in advance.

Lau20x · 20/09/2022 09:52

Leah041196 · 20/09/2022 10:34
