Come and take my mind off it!

Suggest something indulgent we can do to distract ourselves.

Well, just to let you know, that posting on here obviously helps to induce labour .

Wee Joe arrived yesterday morning, T+1!

Birth story here if you can face it...

I am delighted to have him, but also had hoped to join you a bit longer...

Good luck to everybody sill in the waiting room.

ilovegreenbeans · 11/03/2010 17:21

If posting on here works, I'm in!

have been lurking a bit, T+4 today. Had 2 sweeps already (mw appts on Tues only) but not much else. DD's 2nd birthday is on the 17th and I so want the new baby to be here by then!

FourLittleDucks · 11/03/2010 18:27

Sorry can't write much - just about to go off to the hosp - nothing much happened all day but have hotted up this last couple of hours.

Have to stay in for at least 24hrs after cos I've got this Strep b + thing, but will come and let you know when I get home.

In the meantime, good luck to you all and congrats to Pacific !!!

BellasYummyMummy · 11/03/2010 19:04

oh how exciting fourlittles!!!!! wishing you all the best!

and CONGRATS pacific!!

joanne34 · 12/03/2010 07:34

Congrats pacific !
Come on four ! ? Any news !
I woke up at 1.08 am with strong period cramps
then needed a poo, all looking good. Ran
a bath, then things started to calm down, and I
was back asleep at 3am....... ?
What's was that all about ? Things to come?
I hope so, am so tired though, have to get up
now to take ds1 to school etc, fingers crossed
for everyone. X

BellasYummyMummy · 12/03/2010 10:06

rescheduled my sweep for sunday, im in no rush to have this baby and think its better for me to get as well as i can. Feeling so much better after a good cry to DH on the phone and rearranging. Im just so fed up with everyone telling me baby will come when its ready, when in fact im actually not in a rush to have it so not the impatient one! I just want to get better which sounds really selfish i know, i do want to meet my baby, but i want to be able to enjoy the first few days as much as poss without feeling like death warmed up. Its just bugging me that no one gets this and keeps telling me to hurry up!

BellasYummyMummy · 13/03/2010 07:57

T+7 today. was convinced i was going to go into labour in the early hours this morning as before bed my body had a 'clear out' (sorry tmi) then woke at 1 and had really bad tummy pains for about 2 hours which is what happened with DD. But nothing has happened so am now thinking prbably just ate something dodgy! Still full of rubbish cold and kept me and DH up most of the night coughing.

How is everyone else?

joanne34 · 13/03/2010 10:48

Hey bella. That's sounds like me on Thursday/Friday early morning, then just fizzled out ! Had tightenings
most of yesterday, but died down by bed time.
Had a decent-ish sleep last night though.
I am booked in for 2 sweep tomorrow too, at 10.30am.
How's your cold now ?
Like you say, I think it's best you try and get
yourself better first.
I really hope they turn up for mothers day though
that would be lovely ! ........... Or would it ?

Bilders · 13/03/2010 12:51

Hi Bella, sorry you're not feeling well, hope you get better soon! I'm totally with you on the do I don't I do the sweep?! I'm not even sure of my due date as according to Ovulation I should be due 8/3/10 but scans readjusted to 3/3/10! Either way I'm 7 days overdue and fed up!
My midwife has suggested nipple stimulation with a breast pump for 10 mins on each boob every 2 hours, so trying that today! It better work as I feel a right idiot with a bottle clamped to the boob.

I'm liking the idea of cream eggs, might have to send out DH for some supplys.
good luck to you all and let's hope it won't be too much longer, and here's for a big push from our bumps for tonight for delivery tomorrow!!
Good luck to you Joanne too.

growingweeble · 13/03/2010 15:36

Bella's, you must be exhausted with lack of sleep and fighting a cold. Hope you're managing to get some rest in the day and sneak in a snooze or two. Good luck for tomorrow if things don't kick off before then.

Good luck to you too Joanne34. Sunday is sweep day hey!

I was getting a bit hopeful yesterday as I was getting a few aches and cramp like feelings. Also, thought perhaps my waters might be going at one point... but a tablespoon never materialised into anything else, so guess it wasn't

Nothing from fourlittleducks... fingers crossed that means she's been busy having her little one!

Bilders--out of interest, which dates are they going by for you? Hope the breast pump works for you! I hadn't heard of that one.

Bilders · 13/03/2010 15:46

Good luck for tomorrow growingweeble!
I'm not sure which dates they are going for. We have an independant midwife and she is very reluctant to induce and has said that the ovulation date is probably more acurate. The baby will come when its ready which I know but can't help trying to help it along!
With trepidation I've just had a dose of Castor oil so seeing if that might work! I'll keep you posted!!

BellasYummyMummy · 13/03/2010 19:09

ooh havent heard of the nipple stimulation, can i really be arsed though to unpack my breast pump and have a go? not really. how was the castor oil? (gag)

Yes sounds like quite a sweeping party tomorrow. Just what i wanted for mothers day.

it does sound promising for four littles, hopefully she is all snuggled up with her new babba.

i am still coughing like an old man. Oh my aching lungs! utterly miserable and fed up! sending DH to go out and get me phish food ben and jerrys once he's put DD to bed as thats what i need to make my cold better. I am so hot right now i am just wearing a tank top and some floaty trousers.

does anyone worry sometimes about lateness of baby? my dd was 5 days, i cant believe tomorrow will be 8.

joanne34 · 13/03/2010 20:23

I've just had a quite hot red Thai curry and a small
glass of vino
dp has almost managed to finish the bottle !

BellaS my ds1 was born spontaneous at 38+4 !
I am completely worried about being induced
as this baby is from a different father, and I
found out today from his mum that she
was induced with dp at 42 weeks and had
a long labour and he was over 9 lbs !

I wanted a water birth this time as ds1 was
a text book labour. 3.5 hours !
I feel like this one is going to be the worst !

Anyway there is nothing I can do so ..... ?

BellasYummyMummy · 13/03/2010 21:09

dont think like that joanne, you dont know how this labour will be. wow 3.5 hours!! jammy! my first was 22! you'll be fine however it goes.

think i am going to take myself to bed as no doubt i will be awake for my pee breaks at 2, 4, and 6am, plus throw a few coughing fits in there, and maybe a few period type pains which will have my lying awake for hours waiting for the first contraction. i used to love going to bed...

joanne34 · 13/03/2010 21:39

Goodluck for tomorrow. We'll get there !

BellasYummyMummy · 14/03/2010 04:50

happy sweep day! I mean mothers day! i have been lying awake since 3am, so decided an hour and a half later that actually i was quite hungry so just had a bowl of cheerios.
going to go back to bed in a minute as am starting to feel tired. My cough seems a bit better today (touches all the wood in the room), here's hoping i have turned a corner.

I wonder what today will bring us all. if no baby, then make the most of your day, hopefully it will be a sunny one. If baby makes an appearance then what a wonderful mother's day gift.

tackytiger · 14/03/2010 11:19

Hi everyone!
I've been lurking but am now 40+2 so it's time for me to emerge from the woodwork. Veering between irrational disappointment at myself (particularly since husband has to wait too long to meet baby, whereas I at least feel I 'know' her) and trying to enjoy these few days of it being just us (this is our first baby).
Last time I listen to wise old women, by the way. It was predicted by all the witchy women that come into me in work that baby would come early. Thanks a bunch, ladies!

BellasYummyMummy · 14/03/2010 12:41

hi tackytiger! congrats on your first, hope you wont be waiting too long!

just came back from mw and feeling Heaps better! she was lovely, and did the sweep- felt the baby's head through my cervix! how amazing! said body is getting ready for labour, could be in the next few hours or days (which is kinda obvious really!), but was just nice to have someone reassure me.
The hospital wont give me an induction date, they will ring me on the day anytime from wednesday and say come in! great. hopefully baby will already be here.

Hope you are all enjoying the day!

joanne34 · 14/03/2010 13:33

Hey ladies. Had my 2nd sweep this morning.
The midwife was much butcher and had
basically a good root around ! She said the last
sweep must have done something as I was about 3cm
dilated now ..........
After, we went to sainsburys to do our weekly
shop, felt hard work walking around, anyway
just went to the loo and have a pinky brown
discharge, is that a good sign ? ?
Baby is moving about lots !
They have put me down for the 22nd for
induction if nothing has happened by then.
Fingers crossed though !
Glad you are feeling better bellasmum, I am now
going to eat copius amounts of chocolates

tiggz · 14/03/2010 16:36

Im 2days over today and its killing me already. im busy trying EVERYTHING possible to induce labour, but nothing works .

BellasYummyMummy · 14/03/2010 18:26

fingers crossed for you joanne!

welcome tiggz, hopefully you wont be waiting for too long! try and enjoy these last few days of calm before the storm...

FourLittleDucks · 14/03/2010 19:41

Hello All......
Sorry to all of you that are still here !!!!!! it was funny coming on again. Don't seem to have had quite as much time to waste on MN the last few days

Delighted to announce the arrival of Anna Lucy on Thurs at 8.15pm - 8lb 2oz.
Labour 3hrs start to finish, water birth (hadn't planned that), born with caul intact (ie waters didn't ever break).

Absolutely fantastic experience - really really really hope that you ladies have a similarly easy time of it (obviously still agony !!!)

Look forward to seeing some of you on the postnatal thread at some point this week !! although I can't quite imagine when I'll have time to MN, life seems a little busier!

Love to all - really hoping that Bellas babe and mini growingweebles and tiny joanne34 all arrive safely soon ! Am assuming that Bilders must have had hers by now ?!

tiggz · 14/03/2010 20:26

hi "BellasYummyMummy" thanx for the advice. yes i think im going to try get plenty of rest im sure il be needing it. hopefully my labour will be as short as "FourLittleDucks" was. dose anyone know if labour is harder/worse if your having a big baby?

growingweeble · 14/03/2010 21:13
