After about an hour of painless contractions every 3 mins, waters just went. Had forgotten quite how bloody much of it there is. I sit back and await labour...

I just spilled my raspberry leaf tea all over the sofa reading your latest post! Lucky it was just luke warm!

Sorry you have had such a hard time, I hope all is well now and you can enjoy finally being with your new baby xx

FourArms · 27/08/2009 09:06

Congratulations DS2 went to SCBU too with suspected infection (I had GBS and he crashed at birth), and he was huge. Was in the high dependency room with all the premmie babies, but he was 9lb+ and could touch both ends of the incubator when he stretched!

WorzselMummage · 27/08/2009 09:10

Congratulations ! What's her name ?

Sorry you didn't get the birth you wanted although thank godness you didn't by the sounds of things.

Hopefully your nnu experience will be a short one xx

Congratulations, she is out now and sounds like she was being very sensible staying put there!
Hope you are both well.
Well done you and thankyou for the thread, it's been lovely to be able to follow your progress.

LuluMaman · 27/08/2009 09:34

sounds like there was a very good reason that your homebirth went awry and hospital was in this case, the best place for you to be

congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby girl. hope she is out of NICU soon and you are both ok

you are probably reeling a bit. make sure you have lots of support and talk things through with someone

oopsacoconut · 27/08/2009 09:38

Congratulation Duchesse and WELCOME little Duchesse. I hope she is soon back in your arms. Sounds like it wasn't she didn't want to come out but rather she couldn't get out!

jeanjeannie · 27/08/2009 09:58

Congrats duchesse HUGE hugs and well done to you - talk about going the distance. I'm sure she'll be out of NICU very soon. Now, you take care of yourself and I'm thrilled you're both safe and sound x

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 27/08/2009 10:47

Congrats Duchesse - you did everything you could but sometimes nature is a funny old thing and is clearly was in this case. I'm so pleased your beautiful little girl is here. EMCS are not much fun for anyone so be kind to yourself and make sure you are very well looked after, you most definatively deserve it.

MsBrandybuck · 27/08/2009 11:26

Congratulations Duchesse, big welcome to little Duchesse!

MmeLindt · 27/08/2009 11:35

Congratulations Duchesse and welcome to the world, little Duchesse.

I am sorry that it was not the birth experience that you had hoped for. It might be a comfort to know that your instinct to go into hospital was the right one. I know how horrible an EMCS is, take your time getting over it.

Buda · 27/08/2009 11:53

Many many congratultions Duchesse. Sorry it was not what you planned.

Enjoy all those newborn cuddles.

JustKeepSwimming · 27/08/2009 12:04

Congratulations on dd's safe arrival

(and commiseration on EMCS, not nice i know)

Take time to recover, and enjoy putting your feet up whilst snuggling new baby

Southwestwhippet · 27/08/2009 12:09

Congratulations duchesse, have been following this thread avidly. Sorry you didn't get the birth you planned but WOW your gorgeous little one is now here - I am so happy for you [grin}

LaDiDaDi · 27/08/2009 12:28

Congratulations Duchesse!

So pleased that your daughter has arrived. xx

rainbowdays · 27/08/2009 12:48

Duchesse - CONGRATULATIONS on the safe arrival of your baby daughter.

My computer has been out of action so I missed the run up to the arrival. And so sorry that you did not get your hb, but hope that you get a speedy recovery from the cs and that your little one will be out of NICU soon. Thinking of you.

I am so very happy that your baby number 4 is finally here.

Wheelybug · 27/08/2009 12:50

Congratulations on your baby girl ! Hope all is well.

Deeeja · 27/08/2009 13:27

Congratulations!

sausagerolemodel · 27/08/2009 13:38

Congratulations! You sound like you have taken a very not-to-plan labour and birth totally in your stride. Well done you, and welcome to your daughter! :-)

Salleroo · 27/08/2009 13:51

Congratulations. Looks like you were in the right place after all. Dont worry that all your plans went awry, your little girl is safe and and sound.

You'll be back on your feet in approx 4 weeks! Take it easy after the CS and accept all offers of help. You'll need them with 4 DC to look after and recover much quicker the less you do.

Great story, loved the iphone updates
