After about an hour of painless contractions every 3 mins, waters just went. Had forgotten quite how bloody much of it there is. I sit back and await labour...

Good luck lady and fingers crossed it all goes fast for you.

mama2leah · 26/08/2009 09:36

PlumBumMum · 26/08/2009 10:33

I'm betting hes a he and he is just so cosy in there
Think its time to try a big slice of chocolate cake!

Buda · 26/08/2009 10:47

Talk about getting your money's worth from your birth thread!!!!!

I had the pessary and it worked for me. Eventually. Had it at around 10am. Was 1cm at 5pm. 3cm at 7pm. DS born at 12.24am.

I was encouraged to walk and walk and walk though. Every time a midwife saw me sitting down I was sent for a walk up the corridor. There were 3 of us doing the same thing and as the corridor was painted green we called it The Green Mile. Still remember it all 8 years on!

OracleInaCoracle · 26/08/2009 10:53

lol buda, i remember every picture alongthe corridoors in the maternity unit. although didnt so much walk as waddle!

OracleInaCoracle · 26/08/2009 10:56

oops corridor apparently the excitement has robbed me of the ability to spell!

The problem I'm having is that this stupid propess thong keeps worming it's way out again. If I stand up, go to the loo, walk anywhere or bounce. So everything o do is counteracting the effect of the bloody thing and bringing me closer to a drip. I'm just so flipping frustated now!!!! This baby just doesn't want up come out.

Buda · 26/08/2009 11:16

Maybe if you take your thong off the baby can get out???

JustKeepSwimming · 26/08/2009 11:41

good luck Duchesse, it will happen, baby will be here soon (ish).

ScarletBandit · 26/08/2009 12:21

Duchesse, thinking of you, your baby is just too cosy in there! Really hope that something happens today for you, will be crossing everything!

PlumBumMum · 26/08/2009 14:35

thong, I was really thinking what on earth goes on in her hospital?

I had the drip with dd1 though and it wasn't that bad was still able to move around and sit on rocking chair

sausagerolemodel · 26/08/2009 14:44

Come on titchy-duch! Its time now. Its nice out here. I promise!!

Cazzr · 26/08/2009 16:16

I thought you only had to worry about keeping the pessary in for a short while, I had to stay in bed for a bit but after that could do as I pleased...? or am I talking about something else?.. I remember it being called a 'gel'..

Thinking of you, must be so frustrating especially as you had wanted a HB..

FloriaTosca · 26/08/2009 16:27

Fingers crossed that baby will get the idea and move on down soon duchesse. Good luck.

OnlyWantsOneDoesntLikeDM · 26/08/2009 18:09

thinking of you duchesse x x x x

duchesse · 26/08/2009 20:51

Am now in labour ward on synto drip having had iv antibiotics due to raised temp (which makes them suspect infection). At least the baby probably won't have to have them at birth now. it took six fecking attempts to get the line in so my arms now resemble a bruised pin cushion. This is so very far from what I'd planned...

Duchesse - thinking of you. Just keep your eye on the prize. Hopefully it won't be too long before littleDuch appears.

LuluMaman · 26/08/2009 20:53

propess is supposed to be better than prostin as it is one dose, rather than 2 - 3 of prostin and means less time on teh CTG etc..

hopefully synto will get you going!

use the ball

get the bed raised up high and lean on it with your bum out , wiggle and rock your hips

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 26/08/2009 21:05

You can do it - it's a bit crap, it's not what you expected but you can do it and before long you will be holding a complete and utter miracle in your arms. Be kind to yourself, sounds like nothing you could do or not do was going to get this little one shifted!! Looking forward to your news.

Chrysanthamum · 26/08/2009 21:13

Good luck Duchesse, look forward to more news tomorrow.

duchesse · 26/08/2009 21:20

Cazz- this pessary thong I had is a new kind- it looks like mini tea bag on a string. At least that's what it looked like when it fell down the loo at 4pm...
