After about an hour of painless contractions every 3 mins, waters just went. Had forgotten quite how bloody much of it there is. I sit back and await labour...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

She fed! For about five minutes. I actually got to see both her eyes open at the same time as well. She must be on the mend I think.

Great New Duchesse and well done baby (Matilda - it's a great name) I missed your earlier post about being off CPAP which is fantastic. Fingers crossed the feedig goes from strength to strength.

Pinkmumma · 29/08/2009 06:54

Glad your both feeling a bit better duchess, congratulations to ds! X

jeanjeannie · 29/08/2009 07:45

FAB news! Sounds like she's on the mend to me too! x

belgo · 29/08/2009 08:14

That's good duchesse, I hope you are getting plenty of support feeding her.

flamingtoaster · 29/08/2009 09:31

Great news that she is feeding - she's obviously getting steadily stronger. Hope she is on the ward with you soon.

eightisseventoomany · 29/08/2009 13:15

Keep going, you're doing brilliantly. hope you both get to go home soon

kitkatqueen · 30/08/2009 13:20

You are doing fantasticly Duchesse, before you know it she'll be taking it straight from the tap

You are doing a stunning job, I bet she's gorgeous.

duchesse · 30/08/2009 19:18

Two proper feeds today so far, and she really enjoyed watching her sisters goof around for her. She is definitely on the mend. Also I've asked DH to upload a photo to my profile so it may be worth checking later thus evening.

And a friend brought me some proper food! So I've been able to something that wasn't designed for a three year old for the first time since Tuesday!

thats great duchesse, have you settled on matilda for her? how are you feeling?

duchesse · 30/08/2009 21:54

Crashing slightly tbh, in classic three day baby blues style... Very tired, and a bit down in the dumps and wanting to go home.

mrswee · 30/08/2009 21:59

Hang on in there Duchesse, you have been through a crazy time in the last few days. We are all thinking of you! You will be home in your own bed with your wee one soon x

duchesse · 30/08/2009 22:19

Just wanted to my husband has put a photo up on my profile of the munchkin very soon after she was born, as she was wheeled past him on the way to nicu.

merryberry · 30/08/2009 22:21

she's lovely duchesse
i lost the plot BIG time in NICU when my 1st was 3 days old, had to be escorted out sobbing and raving about impossibility of demand feeding from home. fainted, assessed then given tabs to bring my BP down. hadn't realised i was quite ill myself, in the focus on baby. make sure you're ok. am willing you all home soon.

OnlyWantsOneDoesntLikeDM · 30/08/2009 22:22

oh Duchesse she's so cute!! Well done to you and your DH - all the best for a fast recovery and to be home soon

LaDiDaDi · 30/08/2009 23:17

She is gorgeous!

Where was she hiding in that teeny bump?

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 30/08/2009 23:46

She's beautiful, a real little girl. Look after yourself I know after my emergency section I went into shock, it's only looking back now I realise how surreal those first few days were and that's on top of all the usual post-partum hormones rushing around. Thinking of you and hoping it's home time soon for you both.

oopsacoconut · 31/08/2009 07:36

Duchesse - she is beautiful. Hope today is the day you get to take her home.

JustKeepSwimming · 31/08/2009 08:23

She's gorgeous

Hang in there Duchesse - i had the planned HB - Emcs experience too, not fun.
I cried lots to everyone and talked about it endlessly to anyone who vaguely looked like they were listening, don't bottle it up.

flamingtoaster · 31/08/2009 08:53

She's gorgeous! Hang in there duchesse - I had an emergency cs with DS and he was in SCBU for a while - I bawled my eyes out endlessly on the third day only to be told by the sister that "most people wait until they get home to cry". By the fourth day I was ready for her if she had said another word so hopefully by tomorrow you will be on the up again.

jeanjeannie · 31/08/2009 10:02

duchesse bless you - I also totally crashed in the day-three NICU burn out. It's so hard, so unreal yet you will get there. She is beautiful - thank you for putting up the picture x
