Was that a show I've just had????????????

I've just been to the loo (sorry TMI coming up LOL) and when I wiped there was a big 'lump' of jelly like mucus - wasn't brown or tinged with blood - more of a very milky weak tea/coffee colour.

I've been having lots of twinges this morning - infact was lying in bed this morning and had a few quite strong BH's.......timed the 1st 2 or 3 and they were 7 minutes apart - turned my back on the clock and played "guess the time of the next one" - and for about 1hr they were regular at every 7 minutes....

Now obviously it was a show I know it could still mean that labour is days (or even weeks) away....but I just wondered if it WAS a show.

Sounds like a show to me - how exciting!

Angeliz · 23/05/2007 12:48

I've had all mine within hours of the show.

OOOHHH how exciting

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 12:50

sounds daft I know - but if it really was a show then I'm very excited - even though I know things may not happen for AGES yet - this is my 3rd child and my body hasn't seemed to "know" what to do the last 2 times (apart from let my waters break LOL) so the first big thing for me for this pg was for my body to do at least some sort of preperation for labour on it's own without being induced etc etc

Definately sounds like it is a bit of your mucus plug. I think the deeper bit has blood in it.

Sugarfree · 23/05/2007 12:50

When are you due FA?

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 12:51

Sugarfree - I'm 38+1 today - the same stage I was when my waters broke with DS1, and 6 days before the stage when they went with DS2....so I've been (well DH has actually I've been rather 'blaze' (sp) about it all) preparing myself that things could happen before my EDD......

OOOH! Exciting stuff then. I do love an online labour and yesterdays has gone quiet

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 12:56

well if it does happen today then you may well end up with part of it online - DH is at work until 9pm (and is about 40 minutes drive away) and my Doula lives 1 1/4 hours away - so the first bit could be 'on my own' so to speak

FA now braces herself for the fact that DS3 is going to be stubborn and wait for another 2-3 weeks before putting in an appearance

How exciting

Fanny, well you have been rather 'nesty' to use your own word for the last couple of days or so!

pucca · 23/05/2007 13:15

FA...Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but i had a show on the monday (kept losing more all week) and didnt actually have ds until the sunday, i started a thread very similar to this at the time.

You never know though all could kick off now and you could be snuggling your LO tomorrow

pucca · 23/05/2007 13:16

Ooh forgot to add i was 38 weeks too

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 13:18

pucca - it's ok I know it can takes weeks for labour to actually start after having a show - I'm just rather excited it looks like my body may actually realise it's supposed to do something to get this baby out rather than just let my waters go and have to be induced LOL.

And actually a couple more days would be useful........got a few complicated hymns at church on Sunday and I'm a bit nervous how the 'reserve' pianist I have sorted out will cope

Fa...I know what you mean, i had a panicky run around when i had my show, to be honest to see me flapping around all excited you would have thought the head was hanging out or something lol.

Good luck, can't wait to read you birth announcment

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 13:24

not to mention the fact that it's the last week in the monthly sales cycle for DH's work and he likes to get in as many hours (which hopefully equate to sales) in the last week - although he's got enough for a decent bonus this time round a few more are always welcome LOL.

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 15:05

well - just lost a bit more - slightly smaller than the first one - but definitely more 'brown' tinged than the earlier one!!!

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:06

lol sugar - nothing more to report I'm afraid - a few more twinges but nothing substantial or to get excited about....... (but could you get me some more Clipper Decaf Coffee while you're at the shops - I'm nearly out )

Are you sure you don't want Raspberry Leaf instead?

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:18

nah - drank tons of the stuff with both previous pgs - didn't do any good at all LOL.

I'm off to cook dinner and hoover the lounge (DS1 was supposed to do it - but TBH if things do happen in the next day or so I'd prefer it had been done properly now

OP posts:
Sugarfree · 23/05/2007 17:23

Never worked for me either-load of old cobblers!
But I have heard that vigorous hoovering can do wonders.

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:25

lol so have I - perhaps I may stretch it to the stairs as well then ..

Just wish these BH's/contractions what ever they are would either b*gger off until they're ready to come properly or just get regular - driving me potty now!
