Was that a show I've just had????????????

I've just been to the loo (sorry TMI coming up LOL) and when I wiped there was a big 'lump' of jelly like mucus - wasn't brown or tinged with blood - more of a very milky weak tea/coffee colour.

I've been having lots of twinges this morning - infact was lying in bed this morning and had a few quite strong BH's.......timed the 1st 2 or 3 and they were 7 minutes apart - turned my back on the clock and played "guess the time of the next one" - and for about 1hr they were regular at every 7 minutes....

Now obviously it was a show I know it could still mean that labour is days (or even weeks) away....but I just wondered if it WAS a show.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

sounds like a show to me.
with ds1 it was clear and streaked jelly, with ds2 it was white jelly.
with ds1 labour started soon after, with ds2 it kept coming for about a week.
You never really know tbh. The show is not a brilliant indicator.
But it does indicate things are gearing up!
How exciting!

Just realised that Lulu isn't here which means that this is not an 'official' labour thread.
Yet.

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:31

I'm feeling quite positive now about this birth - was 99.99% convinced that once again my body wouldn't even think about doing what it's supposed to do - but even these irregular twinges and having a show is more than it's managed before

(blimey can't be many women who get excited because they've had a show yet know it could be weeks before anything else happens LOL).

am here

labour may commence

yes, you've had a show!

And labour could be hours or days away...

pedalmonster · 23/05/2007 17:32

OOOhhh how exciting! I am 38 + 4 and a little jealous!

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:32

LOL Sugar - don't worry if things do start 'hotting up' then I'll start a new one.....promised lulu a "OMG I THINK I'M IN LABOUR" thread title when it eventually happens

ROFLMAO@ lulu - x posts with your very dramatic entry (just hope DS3 doesn't decide to make an entry as dramatic as yours )

OP posts:
fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:36

anyhow - the grill is now (very) hot given that I turned it on to warm up about 45 minutes ago and I'll be getting shouts of "We're hungry mum is dinner going to be long" if I don't get the sausages and chips on! (not to mention the hoovering which desperately needs doing LOL)

OP posts:
LadyOfTheFlowers · 23/05/2007 17:36

ooh the hoovering may help.....
helped me!

pedalmonster · 23/05/2007 17:37

Thanks LadyOTF that is all the motivation I needed to start hovering MY house! Sigh.

lulumama · 23/05/2007 17:38

you need chilli sauce on your sausage and chips!!

foxybrown · 23/05/2007 17:39

Oh Fannieannie - good luck, hope this is it for you! xx

LadyOfTheFlowers · 23/05/2007 17:41
Grin
fannyannie · 23/05/2007 17:54

hmmm sounds tempting actually - I do like spicy sauces - might be a good excuse to pop down the shop and get some

How exciting, I know nannyjo was the first Junie to have her baby, but she was induced early due to OC....you're the first to "go" as it were.

Have fun

Sugarfree · 23/05/2007 18:07

Oh thank goodness,Lulu's here.
(I pinched cake from the other thread as things are very quiet over there just now.(only creaking rocking chairs, clacking knitting needles and cake munching)

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 18:38

probably all there's going to be on this thread too LOL.

I cheated - the DS's hoovered the lounge/diner (although I'll give it a quick once over again when they're in bed). DS2 (who's 3 1/2) wanted to do it - so DS1 showed him where the 'bits' were and he hoovered (but my eagle eyes have spotted a few bits they've missed). Don't want to upset them by re-doing chunks of it while they're still up so that's the job for 1 1/2hrs time (or earlier if I can persaude DS2 to go bed when DS1 goes LOL)

lulumama · 23/05/2007 18:48

oh, this is DS3 , will practically fall out if you cough!!

breathe, there;s a dear !

ROFL !

seamonster · 23/05/2007 18:50

How exciting! I hope you don't mind me hanging around for a bit, only its been one of those days and this is very good news.Try climbing the stairs a bit, I found that it helped. I wouldn't hoover though, you may need your strength.

fannyannie · 23/05/2007 18:51

blimey I think it's more fun being the person that's having the baby on these threads - just to see the reactions of everyone else .

I'm still totally blase about it tbh

PMSL@ lulu (again)

I wish - DS1 was a CS (after Niagara Falls and no contractions), DS2 was a nice trickling brook but ended up being induced 3 days later - and even then he had to be 'forceably' removed from my nether regions with the aid of ventouse
