I've just been to the loo (sorry TMI coming up LOL) and when I wiped there was a big 'lump' of jelly like mucus - wasn't brown or tinged with blood - more of a very milky weak tea/coffee colour.

I've been having lots of twinges this morning - infact was lying in bed this morning and had a few quite strong BH's.......timed the 1st 2 or 3 and they were 7 minutes apart - turned my back on the clock and played "guess the time of the next one" - and for about 1hr they were regular at every 7 minutes....

Now obviously it was a show I know it could still mean that labour is days (or even weeks) away....but I just wondered if it WAS a show.

OP posts:

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 16:47

no news yet? oooooo she could be pushing as we speak!

i thought she was going for a homebirth though, did plans change?

Mercy · 24/05/2007 16:56

ok, so she last posted at 11.37. She must have had it by now surely?!

Are no.3's generally born quite quickly? Do contractions give an indication of how imminent birth is? (I didn't have 'normal' contractions with my 2)

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 17:01

nah, mine were every 1 min lasting a minute in the afternoon but stopped when i got to hospital (both my labours came crashing to a halt when i wandered into hospital after 15 hours of labour... think the babies sensed my teminal fear of medical crap.

that said she'd never be so cruel as to just disappear unless she was off having it right? [stern look into pc at fannyannie]

jinxed · 24/05/2007 17:03

ooooh, really hope she is doing ok. Hope to hear something soon!

seamonster · 24/05/2007 17:07

They (being midwives) all told me that the third could be completely different from the others. My first were v quick and my third was a bit slower. FA's is different too from what I've read.
P.S. Is it chocolate cake? I'm in the mood for chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream etc etc. Perhaps some cream or ice cream?

lulumama · 24/05/2007 17:10

they do mercy, generally when they are every 2 mins, lasting a minute + , birth is fairly imminenet !

sponge cake with jam & buttercream here!

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 17:12

why was that never true for me. damn ARM both times to get things past 3 cms

mmmmmm, chocloate cake sounds good, pass me a slice of that seamonster

seamonster · 24/05/2007 17:26

Any cake is a good cake.

cream or ice-cream with it? Or strawberries? Just don't get it on all that knitting

PinkTulips · 24/05/2007 17:28

c'mon fanny.. i need to go feed my kids. how're you getting on?!

seamonster · 24/05/2007 17:33

Yes, I'm going to listen to reading and spend some quality one on one time with ds2 before bath & bed, then its ds1's turn although he tends to sit next to me watching grim programs about animals killing things.
See you soon, hopefully we'll have some news...Enjoy the cake/knitting/rocking.

chilledmama · 24/05/2007 17:51

what a life we lead!!!

I've got to go and bath DS but had to check up first!

Oh and new series of Greys Anatomy starts tonight so FA better not disturb me with news between 2200-2300!!!!!

Choc sponge with choc butter icing here...no really there is...I made it for B&B this afternoon!
