Any other MN impatient for their August arrivals???

Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present

I take it the full moon didnt do its job last night them - definately not in my house. 40 + 8 today and feeling pretty negative, I wont be doing this baby lark again, all I wanted was to experience spontaneous labour but Im clearly defective! I mean, how hard is it?! Sweep at 2pm and will discuss induction - theyve said they are happy to leave me until +14 which is the 31st but my dd's start back at school on the 2nd and I need to consider whats best for them too. Dd1 is very highly strung and shes upset about leaving her reception teacher behind and going to a new class so I just know she'll be all emotional going back to school, I need to be here for her. Sending out labour vibes to you all...!

Not to rub it in but I have just had a really good nights kip (apart from my DS climbing into bed with me and DH at 5am). I got a lay in until 7.45 am and only had to do one loo trip in the night! Sorry for those of you who didn't but I am sure all this good quality sleep won't last.

No sign of baby gatecrashing my plans today but it is still early - I don't mind as long as she gives me a little notice

Morning all, no moon baying mommies popping then well crap night's sleep AGAIN. Just took DD to nursery so I don't care back to bed for a few hours as I have her at home after this week before she starts school so won't be able to do it! Night

Thanks tweakers. It is a day of present opening and bum making today with DS. Thanks for keeping on top of the list, it really does save confusion.

oohhh sod's law is definitely being riled today... DH has left his mobile at home
but, rather annoyingly he has no idea what his direct line is so lets hope nothing happens before he manages to find out what it is

he keeps phoning me with different numbers to try... so far i've managed to piss off three of his colleagues!

LOL (grin] and . And I wote that after a coffee and a good nights sleep. Bums do sound more interesting than BUNS LOL.

Although more show this morning and it's streaked! progress??

it would seem that you can't phone him at his desk from the outside world so i need to phone the reception (of huge company) and then get put through to his extension. no problem but i've just tried the switchboard number and he hasn't given me enough numbers FFS!!!!!
i have now googled the company and i've got the right number but seriously, how hard can it be?
right time to calm down!

perhaps i should explain..he's a consultant and isn't based at his own office at the moment!

oh and whilst he was trying to give me all the different nubmers to try, DS decided it was time to do kamikaze jumps off the chairs onto me

i've got to go up to the hospital today for blood tests. apparently they should have been done weeks ago but mw forgot! its a real pain because i am physically too big to drive which means mum is coming round to look after DS and my bro is driving me to the hospital in his car. I really really hope my waters don't go at the hospital because bro will refuse to drive me home (hb's are dangerous apparently!). Was chatting about it with DH this morning and his cunning advice was to make sure i've got enough for a cab!

and relax... i reckon another cup of tea is in order

roz i was going to do some baking today too. i found a recipe for a chocolate cake that uses coke in it! thought it sounded too good/unusual not to try!

I've never made it before so can't comment on whether it tastes as good as it looks/sounds!

i'm using it as my reward for finishing the baby cube order so i'm not allowed to bake until they're all done!

Sam Cam was nearly 4 weeks early! the cheek, can you imagine the fluster at Truro when she rocked up!!!!

You all sound so cheery! I'm just so fed up. Saw midwife last week for 39 week check and she said excitedly OOh this baby has dropped, it could literally come any day any time!! which got me really excited and has given me false hope that it might come early. Now a week later and I feel less ready than last week. Today is the last day of answering the landline. Am fed up of the relatives asking if there is any news so I'm now screening calls on my mobile. God I am grumpy today!!

EmmaRoyd you're not the only grumpy one today. I'm 40+3 with DC2 and baby has been fully engaged for over a week. I've been having painful cramps and twinges since Saturday with 10 minute contractions on Sunday that fizzled to nothing.

MW had a poke yesterday and said cervix is softening so something is happening.

So bored and fed up now. Tummy too sore to focus on much. I really need to chill.

I am now convinced this baby will never arrive and I will be pregnant forever!!!

you have my sypmathies emma, my mum is phoning me every day at the mo. It's not like i'm going to forget to tell her if i have the baby! Trying not to get annoyed though, I know she's just super excited

Oh inzidoodle, i am so jelous but very excited for you . You are due tomorrow like me but I am not seeing midwife until Friday and even then she told me at last appointment, that this is to arrange a sweep in a weeks time if needed.

3cm dialated - you are surely going to be the next smiley face on the list. Keep us posted. The baby may end up sharing the same birthday as me

By the way just cooked some buns with my DS as a birthday treat and they are delicious - mmmmm cake
