Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present Smile

Hello! May I join?? I'm 40+4 today, was due on 20th with DD2. Does anyone believe that the full moon will spur things on for us? I keep being told that it's bound to happen any time now because of the full moon. Wouldn't that mean everyone would give birth today though? Confused I hope it's true though! Grin I am having lots of BHs at the moment, so who knows...

Went 10 days over with dd1 so this is no surprise, but I was hoping that the 2nd time round baby is born earlier theory would prove to be true for me. Have to go to hospital tomorrow for scan and monitoring of heartbeat. Have decided to refuse sweep, as not a fan. I live in Spain so have to refuse it in Spanish, which is a bit daunting. Confused

Hope there are some birth announcements tomorrow!

petisa · 23/08/2010 23:36

Whoops, I'm still 40+3 in UK time, as it's not midnight with you yet.

who asked about not being able to sleep?

CakeandFineWine · 24/08/2010 08:57

Morning all, No more babes yet!!Shock
I feel pants c/o insomnia so feeling your pain ladies, after lying in bed for 2 hours gave up and ended up sprawled on sofa watching shocking TV until 4am!!
Have a bit of a dodgy tum today?? have had on/off for a week now tho Hmm I have a hospital appointment with consultant today so see what she has to say, I have a good feeling about today, don't know why tho.....

tweakers · 24/08/2010 09:05

that'll be because there's a full moon tonight cake Grin

i'm feeling a bit more crampy than i have been. GAH! I hate reading into every little tiny symptom!

perhaps if i try and focus on baby arriving on say the 10th of Sept (this will be about 40+10), I'll be able to stop waiting and enjoy these last few weeks...its worth a go at least!

Allegrogirl · 24/08/2010 09:21

Morning ladies. I've had cramps for 3 days now and a increasingly 'dodgy' tum. No more contractions since Sunday night. Too crampy to do much so starting to feel really bored.

Mum's just taken DD to nursery for me so I can mope around the house in peace.

Seeing MW today who will offer me a sweep. I'm at 40+2. Can anyone give me a reason why I shouldn't have one? Should I let nature take it's course?

cloveofhislife · 24/08/2010 09:27

Morning all!
Didn't get insomnia last night tweakers otherwise I would have said hello!
Actually had quite a good nights sleep.
So, no new babies yet then?
Anyone got any appointments or sweeps today?

Anyone ever considered castor oil? I am on another forum and so many ladies took it and got their babies! The only reason I haven't yet is because I think it doesn't work if your cervix isn't fabourable.

tweakers · 24/08/2010 09:35

my mw reckons castor oil is the way forward. she told me that a girl had been to see her on the friday, cervix not looking good. girl said 'not a problem about that today, i'm not having baby til tomorrow' Mw raised her eyebrows and smiles. 24hrs later, mw is at her house, delivering her baby! apparently girl had some castor oil that night Hmm

i'm still sceptical myself!

i found crawling round the room last night, tidying up DS's toys seem to cause a few surges

allegro no idea re sweep and reasons for/against. perhaps start a new thread on here?

Cosmosis · 24/08/2010 09:43

Surely someone must have popped? we can't all still be waiting can we???? I've had a few more period pains, but that's all. Seeing MW tomorrow so will see what she says.

Jen99 · 24/08/2010 09:50

Well I'm still here too. Tried to keep really active yesterday to see if that would get things started but no joy so far. Although had another show yesterday and today. Been having strong BH but very irregular.

Inzi - I know how you feel, DS is 2.7 and feel the same, luckily I have lots of help from family but feel bad I can't do the things I can normally do with him and think he is just as imaptient as I am to see the baby!

Going to ring the MW today to see if they will do another sweep this week to see if that will get things moving.

Roz14 · 24/08/2010 09:55

Morning all - I can't believe there are no new arrivals this morning!

I went to bed last night feeling rubbish (cold, feeling sick, aches and pains both back and front) and still not feeling great this morning (but a little better than I did last night). I am hungry and want to eat but soon as I do, I come over all nauseas.

I hope either the baby comes tonight or after tomorrow because its my birthday tomorrow and I have made plans to go out for a meal (ooh, sods law may kick in which would be good).

Although it would be nice to share my birthday with the baby, I dont fancy being in hospiatl, high on gas and air for my birthday (ohh, that may not be so bad after all) Grin

TMI!
But I just seen some of my mucus plug!
I know it means nothing, but it kinda does mean something to me.
A little progress! Horray!
Jen99 think I'm in the same boat as you. Strong irregular BH and a little show.
inzi i feel the same way too. I have 3 other dc. I am so impatient with the 2 oldest ones!

lovesaruby · 24/08/2010 11:01

Blimey - no babies then?! Another restless night in my house, lots of cramping, upset tummy this morning and made the use of a sudden burst of energy but cleaning bathrooms, doing a mamoth pile of ironing and labelling the school uniforms! Now, where is my baby - 41 weeks today?! Inzi - I feel like this regarding my other dc's - dh has taken them to my sisters for the morning while he runs some errands so at least theyll be out of the house for a while and away from crap, moody mummy! Sweep tomorrow, hey ho...am having a little daydream where she tells me that Im already at least 4cm and ready to go....or my waters will go while shes doing it and out will pop my beautiful new baby within the hour :o

tweakers · 24/08/2010 11:41

yay to all the shows!!

i'm very Envy of all of you with family helping with other DCs. Its just me and DS here whilst DH is at work so i'm having to enlist the help of jigsaws, stickle bricks and cbeebies. I just feel we're muddling through each day at the moment. He's only just 2 and i don't think he really understands what's happening. Poor thing is going to have a shock when baby does arrive

my tesco order has just arrived so my cunning plan is to eat lots and force this baby out through lack of space Grin

right, i need to plan something to provoke sod's law....

HelenaCC · 24/08/2010 12:14

Hello. No sign of a baby here AT ALL but then again it is only my EDD today. Tried singing "Happy Birthday to you" to the bump - see if he/she got the hint!

I sympathise with everyone here but is nice to know that I am not ther only one sat with feet up (elephant legs ahoy)just waiting

tweakers LOL at the sods law - considering booking a pedicure for tomorrow...

Going to research acupressure/accupuncturists in my area - I told myself if I went over 40weeks Id do this before I let them do any medical induction.

Angry My stress levels are so high at the moment that I will be surprised if i dont pop today. I have had a terrible argument with my mum re: how I am bringing up my DS and his naughty behaviour, decided to go to the local indoor play centre instead of shopping with my mum, which just stressed me out even more and now my DS is playing up that much that I am starting to believe I am the worst mum in the world at the moment Sad.

Sorry, I had to get that out of my system before I scream the house down.

tweakers · 24/08/2010 15:43

oh roz, i don't really know you but the way you've come across on here shows that you're anything but a bad mum.

Your whoremoans (sic) are all over the place at the moment and your baby's imminent birth isn't going to help either

what would DS enjoy doing this afternoon that you can do together? could you do some cooking/baking together? drawing? has he got a favourite book you could read with him?

oh and don't apologise about having a rant...we all know what you're going through

Roz14 · 24/08/2010 15:56

Thanks tweakers - I do feel a lot better for the rant and I know deep down it is my' whoremoans' that are getting the better of me. Thanks for saying those kind words, it really has made me feel better. Your a great support tweakers Smile

Me and my DS have just had a 10 min cuddle on the sofa because he now is a bit tired after burning off all that energy this afternoon. I think we will read a few books in a minute before Tesco's arrive with my shopping (must be thinking along the same lines as you, as I can see you have had a delivery today - a shopping one obviously). Have you managed to force the baby out with all that extra food consumption?

Oh by the way - how are you feeling?

OP posts:
tweakers · 24/08/2010 16:03

good, glad i helped if only a little bit

I just found my DS in the birth pool...he'd thrown in a load of cushions and a blanket and made himself a little nest! I got some lovely photos of him!

you're right, tesco did deliver here. it wasn't the usual delivery guy and he just dumped all the crates on the front door step. I found it quite amusing that i had to point out to him that actually it'd be alot more useful if he brought them into the house and if he could manage to put them on the kitchen counter, that would be a huge help! i was so sarcastic, i'm surprised he didn't leave them where they were! i even put on the delivery note that i'm heavily pg and therefore need a bit of time to get to the front door!

but no, despite eating an enormous amount today, Pea is still where she was this morning.

i'm actually feeling alot more positive about things this afternoon since deciding that actually Pea's not going to be here til the 10th of Sept. I was just mentally waiting and not really getting on and doing anything iyswim

sorry if you've said, but do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

Roz14 · 24/08/2010 16:22

Tesco man has just been and hw was really helpful - i think the look on my face may have been a give away that i shouldn't be messed with this afternoon.

At the 20 week scan, they told me that I was going to have a little girl because they could see 3 lines. The sonographer told me she was 90% certain but I thought I had better prepare myself for a boy as well in case I fall into the 10% bracket.

Do you know what you are having?

Nothing moving this end. I think its gonna be a Sept baby now for sure.

porcamiseria · 24/08/2010 16:49

how come bloody sam cam has had her baby she was not due for ages

nah am chuffed for her, but still!

Roz14 · 24/08/2010 17:51

Thanks porca for the support.

I too am undecided over the Peter and Abbey situation but I am starting to think she shouldn't forgive him now. I am sure he will go and do the same again to her!

sam cam - I know, I have just seen the news. Talk about not waiting her turn Grin
