Any other MN impatient for their August arrivals???

Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present

Excellent. As my previous birthday posts suggest, I don't do cake sharing, so leaving the DC's with DH's is a fab idea. A coffee sounds great too, as long as it's NOT a skinny latte. There will be plenty of those for me after the baby arrives

I'm up too Candinha because of cramps, not been timing them but been woken up 4 times tonight with them. Finally got up because I was disturbing DH and no point both of us being knackered and I was starving! Have taken some paracetamol and had a bowl of rice crispies :) Off back to bed in a bit to try and sleep between them. No waters broken yet but I think this is more than just twinges so fingers crossed!

I'm still here tweakers and roz! my cervix is not even slightly open, in fact they could not even sweep me!

BUT SO PLEASED TO SEE ALL THE BIRTHS!!!

I get induced monday, but that might not even work!!!

I'm still here though, nothing doing. off to hospital in a min for my first monitoring session. 40+13 today!

Im still here too - 40+9 weeks now. I have been feeling a little down today and I know I shouldn't. I was having contractions every 10-15 mins last night again as I did thursday evening but had a bath then went to bed now everything as slowed down again. I phoned MW this morning for some advice because I am getting more of this thick white discharge (sorry if TMI). I didnt think this was a show because it wasn't pink like I had last time but she believes it is and that I am well on my way. I feel like my body is tormenting me because every night I think this it and then I go back to square one again.

Sorry for moaning, I think the tiredness (can relate to you cinnamon) and hormones are getting the better of me today. Anyway going to the museum and a long walk around the grounds (museum opposite hospital) to see if I can get things moving a little. I have put my hospital bag and bits and bogs in the car just in case things happen while I am there.

Candinah - that sounds really positive. Not long now for your arrival. Cosmosis, Im sure it wont be long for you either

Tweakers - Hope you are feeling a little bit more positive today. Im holding you to that walk when I get back from the one in the park.

I've been following this thread as I was due with DS1 on 1 Sep. There has been no news posted for a while so hoping that you ladies who had sweeps etc have now had your babies? I am trying to have patience but finding it very hard!

Hi everyone quick update my little boy 3.165kg was born yesterday morning at 9:20 normal delivery but longer labour than I expected for a DC3 as he was slightly OP. Despite screeming for an epidural when 8cm dilated managed to do it without

just a quick note to say,my sweep worked!
arlo phoenix was born at 8:29am on saturday,7lb15, after 3 days of pre labour active labour only lasted 1hr and we barely made it to the birthing center in time!
will catch up properly soon!

Congratulations Candinah and Skyplusbump - fantastic news. Well done for getting your natural birth Candinah and Arlo Phoenix is a lovely name Sky. I will update the smiley list because not heard anything from tweakers for a while - hopefully she is busy having a baby.

Well just to let you know I am still here and still pregnant 40+10 for me now. I did go to the hospital yesterday, just after going for a walk in the park because I was getting pains every 7 mins. MW said I was not in Labour which really got me down last night but never mind - the baby will come when it is ready. I started having a bloody show last night and today. This morning thought that I was starting to loose my waters as well so maybe things are starting for me, just very slowly.

Congratulations Skye! Like you, I had a sweep on Fri, but it does not seem to have helped. Bought a birthing ball on Fri, had sex, curry last night... Nothing. Sweep booked for Wed again (and sex again tonight!) Midwife said I was 1 cm dilated and things were a bit further along than she would expect for a first time Mum, so I hoped I might go into labour this weekend, sort of expecting it might be another week now. Have never had to be so patient in life!

news from me... sweep friday doesn't seem to have done much. my 'show' has started showing itself but little and frequently iyswim. sex, walks etc etc doing nada

i'm hopefully having a reflexology appt tomorrow morning and possibly a sweep tomorrow

not really getting any twinges or anything now

No news from me, had the day from hell today but I know if I explain all I will start crying and I've done enough of that today. Really fed up now and have to do the school run tomorrow with all the same comments from all the same people :(

Hi tweakers - glad to see you are back. I know how frustrating and fed up you and cinnamon are feeling at the moment. I was really down yesterday (see my other thread 10 days late and feeling disheartened). I am trying to stay focused on enjoying my last week of pregnancy - lets try and keep our smileys up ladies

Oh by the way, it is Ds first half day at school nursery tomorrow. So apart of me wants the baby to arrive in the night and another part of me wants to take DS for his first day tomorrow - I think I may start crying now thinking about it.
