Any other MN impatient for their August arrivals???

Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present

Sky - If it makes you feel any better, mine is going at a snails pace too. call the MW, it will make you feel better

thanks roz i have called and im going in at 4 to see what the hecks going on...she says i sound fed up...
so she'll help things along if she can...we shall see. at least i should know whats happining within a few hours

How are you today tweakers - you seem pretty quiet - any signs of anything happening for you today?

i'm miserable so thought i'd keep away and not bring you guys down with me. mw found i was completely closed, but managed to stretch me to 1cm. not having any twinges or anything now. i just want to go to bed and hide but DS wants otherwise. at least the weekend's coming up so dh off work for a couple of days

mw is really pushing me taking castor oil. even phoned one of her other ladies who took it last week so i could talk to about her experience

i'm booked in to be induced next friday and ctg on wednesday

neighbours are back today from their holiday and all i've heard for the last hour are the kids screaming. they're obviously pleased to be back

so, thanks for asking how i was but i bet you wish you hadn't!

Are you having another sweep at all? My labour started after a sweep and a 'rodgering' (suggested by my ob).

There did come a point where I wish I hadn't been so impatient!

mw only works on fridays and next friday is too late for a sweep (i'll be 40+12)

i had a sweep today,
mw said i was 2-3cm dialated although that could be because i have had a baby already,and my cervex is still long,but soft...so,we shall see,i'll keep you updated!

skye this is my second too. mw seemed genuinely surprised that i was as closed as i was. my cervix is apparently 'thick'

hi all, haven't caught up with your news yet but I had my baby at last! Joel Matthew, born 3.34pm on 1st sept, 8lb 13oz. He's lovely. Will catch up more soon x

dd's gone to grandpas(she loves grandpa,so is very happy
contractions getting stronger,coming about every 10mins...still im very aware it could all drop off

anyone got any advice? not sure if i should keep doing stuff (been hoovering!)or lie down and try to sleep...

Tweakers - try not to get too disheartened about the sweep, Im sure your labour will come on really quickly when it does. I know it is frustrating and can get you down but just think, next Friday will be the latest you will see your baby. Remember, you dont have to stay away from us if you are feeling 'miserable' that is what this thread is for, to offer support and congratulations to each other

Hi all!

Just to add to the 2nd September birthday list.......

I had my little girl Megan yesterday at 4.29pm. She weighed 8lb 15oz and is very very gorgeous with lots of hair!

Woke up Thurs morning with niggles but was my DS2's first day at school and i was determind to take him so we had an interesting trip to the school!

Will be back soon to chat..... as yet i've not been able to sleep.....(because of me not her!)

thanks roz, I know, you're right with everything you said. I'm wondering now though whether my dates were right. but i guess even if they're wrong, they won't be two weeks wrong so if she is induced next friday, it'll just mean she was born on time

Tweakers - Hope you are feeling a little better this evening. Im sure your dates will be reasonably close. I think mine are two days out because I know when I concieved (drunk after a night out with the girls on my hen night - with DH of course) so remember the date clearly. I worked out that my EDD was the 28th August - the hospital moved me two days forward to the 26th August SSo I too am close to your given due date and still waiting.

Im sending interactive labour vibes out to you - may be we can go on one of our walks and call into that lovely cake shop tomorrow

sounds perfect roz..a walk followed by cake, what better way to spend an afternoon. Are we leaving DCs at home? if we do, we can have a leisurely coffee as well ooh and we wouldn't have to share our cake!
