Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present Smile

Back from my walk, no twinges just slight back ache. I really need this baby to come if only to stop me sitting here buying things online. I'm bidding on things on ebay I don't even want Confused.

CakeandFineWine · 31/08/2010 18:23

Congrats allergogirl!!

Back from hospital......YEAH I'm 2cm dialated and favourable, had a sweep although it was uncomfortable rather than painful felt like I was in all creatures great and small Grin Dr thinks I'll prob be back tomorrow!!!
If not going in Thursday am for ARM!! So clock is ticking, sorry for probably queue jumping....Due to complications last time always knew wouldn't go past full term, in fact was always told wouldn't get to 38 weeks so in my mind I'm already too pregnant!

DancingOnMyBladder · 31/08/2010 19:35

Congratulations Allegrogirl !!!- another baby girl!

I'm still here - still pregnant lol

Have made it (hopefully!) to September now though so maybe thats what she has been holding off for. YOU CAN COME OUT NOW!!

Roz14 · 31/08/2010 20:13

Evening all - still no sign of baby here for me yet. Had a really busy day today so this is the first chance I have had to post an update. Sorry but I have not had chance to read the other posts yet but congratulations allergogirl.

Cakes - Im glad your sweep went well. Looks like cakes junior will be arriving in next to no time.

I hope all of you who took part in the virtual walk with tweakers had a good time Grin. Well did it work - anyone getting any signs of labour???

I have had a lovely day with my DS and MIL today. We took my son to his first swimming lesson today. I was soooo proud of him because he was a little scared of the water up to about 6 weeks ago and today he was straight in there having a great time - he is so much more confident. I then had lunch out at the local pub, then we went shopping
it was great Smile.

Back home again now and becoming more focused on trying different means to get this baby out. Birthing ball is ready to bounce on and I keep giving my DH the Wink. I am not sure yet if he looks happy or if he is about to leg it out of the door Grin

Looks like many of us will be getting impatient for our September arrivals now!!!

I have had backache and discomfort in the fronts of my hips/thighs for about an hour and am really tired all of a sudden, so thinking an early night is in order just in case these are early signs. Didn't have an overly active day, although we did spend about 45mins this morning blackberry picking this morning.

So sorry about your day skyeplusbump, I hate pregnancy hormones! Glad all is well though and I wouldn't worry that doesn't sound like a huge baby to me and the scans are not very accurate anyway.

Glad you had a good day Roz14, sounds very nice. Looks like those of us wanting September babies have made it, unless we manage some very fast labours!

tweakers · 31/08/2010 22:06

evening all. just been for a fast 45min walk round and round the block. Had loads of surges, back is really aching so we shall see if I've managed to get anything started

i've spent most of today crying as well! Must be the weather for it or something!

hope some more of these babies start arriving..roll on september Smile

night all, hope you get some sleep

HelenaCC · 31/08/2010 23:53

Hello

Well its officially (nearly) September and Im still pregnant. Ive been on a laptop ban over the bank hol weekend - sat in the sun and read the weekend papers instead, was starting to get a bit depressed and do too much online shopping!!

Had sweep today, was not too bad. I also went for accupuncture in the afternoon to try and induce baby, got another appointment on Thursday. Wonder if this 'hippy new age' stuff will do any good. Am off now to follow MW advice to have sex - DH less than keen but willing to step up!!!

Oh - and have had a bloody show after the sweep, tis a bit disconcerting to see blood after all this time, have to keep reminding myself its normal. Perhaps bubba will be here tomorrow, s/he just holding out to be in the next school year!

tweakers · 01/09/2010 05:21

good morning! anyone else around or is it just me who can't sleep tonight?

helena you'll have to let us know if accupunture does help! i've emailed a local reflexologist but she hasn't replied yet so i might follow your lead instead Smile

oh and surprise surprise, my walk last night doesn't seem to have done much. oh well. Who's going to join me for walks today?

cinnamongreyhound · 01/09/2010 07:46

I'm here tweakers although not quite as early!! Started to think something might be happening last night, went to bed at 9.15!! DH stropped out of bed last night and is still asleep on sofa as I was apparently kicking him repeatedly! We're going for a swim this morning but happy to join you for a walk too :D

tweakers · 01/09/2010 08:00

hurrah! so that's two of us so far Smile
anyone else or are you all too busy having babies today? Grin

oh and whilst randomly surfing this morning i googled 'diy sweeps'
i haven't actually done one, i was just curious...honest!

Roz14 · 01/09/2010 08:00

Morning all - Im still her on the first of September and still pregnant. I roped my DH into some 'sweet lovin!' last night but doesnt seemed to have done anything to get things going!

Tweakers - I didnt sleep very well last night. DS came a sneeked into bed with me and DH at 2.30am then I woke up every hour until 6.30 - Im feeling knackered.

I am planning a full really physical day of housework (if I can manage it) - clean windows, vacuum stairs etc ect ect... to see if I can get things moving - I'll join you for a virtual walk today twaekers. Where are we going?

HelenCC - Any signs of labour progressing for you this morning? I have got a sweep booked if for tomorrow pm and must say I really really really am not looking forward to it. I think that is what has been keeping me awake last night. I have got my birthing ball out of the loft now and so will continue to bounce away on it to see if it does the same trick as last time and burst my waters. Wish me luck Grin

cinnamon - Dh had to abandon our bed last night due to me battling with my body pillow for comfort and my DS (see previous post) kicking him in the head. I felt really sorry for him because he had to be up for work at 5.30am.

growingbump2 · 01/09/2010 08:12

Morning all, still here at 40 + 12, won't be tomorrow morning though as induction booked tonight at 8 pm. So this time tomorrow I will be so excited, if gel works overnight they will do ARM and start synctoncinon (sp)! For all those having induction my DS was induced at 39 weeks and it was fine, hardcore as Allegro says but bearable.

Congratulations Allegro!

Maripan, hope sweep works for you!

Enjoy the sunshine everyone and hopefully my next post will contain date, sex and weight of baby!

Also nearly forgot, it is our wedding anniversary today and 'sweet lovin' had no effect on bringing baby what so ever! Blush

EmmaRoyd · 01/09/2010 08:15

Morning everyone. I thought last night might be the night (again) but evening cramps faded to nothing when I went to bed. Having a sweep at 11am this morning.

Roz14 · 01/09/2010 08:21

Growingbump2 - happy wedding anniversary. I dont know about you but Im thinking that this 'try sex to get labour started' is an old wives tale - so frustrating! It would be lovely for your baby to arrive today though - what a lovely double celebration.

How exciting for you. Another 24 hours and you will be holding you baby and have gained a smiley face SmileSmileSmile

roz i need to pop to the post office if that's ok but happy to go somewhere else as well if there's anything you need to get?

growingbump happy wedding anniversary! how many years is it?
i have to say its really encouraging reading your comments re being induced, especially as you've had one previously

emma hope the sweep goes well and has the intended effect!

EmmaRoyd · 01/09/2010 08:36

I spent £100 on acupunture last pregnancy which didn't work and cajoled DH into sex which I knew he didn't particularly want (I know he doesn't fancy me when I'm preggers) Sad but can't say I blame him, I look minging. Anyway sex didn't work either. This time I'm just walking. If I had a ball I'd bounce but I don't. Hmmm might go put an ad on freecyle now.

EmmaRoyd · 01/09/2010 08:38

growingbump- happy wedding anniversary. sorry to be dumb, what's ARM?

tweakers · 01/09/2010 08:44

ARM = artificially rupturing membranes ie a doctor/mw manually breaking your waters

Roz14 · 01/09/2010 08:45

Tweakers - post office sounds fine by me. Can me do a de-tour past the cake shop?

OP posts:
tweakers · 01/09/2010 09:04

goes without saying roz!! I was going to treat myself in the 'posh, overly priced but very pretty' cake shop. But i'm willing to slum it if that's not your scene Wink
