Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present Smile

Hi all, welcome skyeplus!

I'm still here, still pregnant at 40+3.

My back is soo achy now I'm scared for anything to start! I take back all my anticipation!

My dr has requested me to go to the surgery for a CTG or trace to make sure all is well.

I'm hoping he'll book an induction for 41 weeks. Then I can pretty much be absolutely sure of getting an epidural. The be all and end all of my life's anxieties at the moment.

I'll bet he says 42 weeks. My DS arrived naturally on the day of 42 weeks last time.

Hang in there girls, there'll be more smiley's before we know it!

Morning all - not too bad a sleep for me apart from about 6 toilet stops between midnight and 4am and have been having some dreams about staying by the sea and something strange happening - can't remember what because I usually do.

Still here, still pregnant. I have had some weetabix and a mug of tea and may try and pop back to bed for an hour or take a leaf out of your book tweakers and do some reading Smile

tweakers · 30/08/2010 07:49

sorry roz but you made me smile... isn't it ridiculous that 'not a bad night' can include 6 toilet trips in 4hrs!!

jungle if you're tense then it will hurt. i know its easier said than done but you really need to try and relax. Do you know of any other muscle group that causes pain when its doing its job properly? so why would uterine muscles be any different?
sorry, feel free to ignore me!

is being pg feeling surreal to anyone else? i'm beginning to wonder if i am actually pg Hmm Bit hard to explain, just all feels a bit weird and not real

right, off to make an apron for a lovely friend of mine who has just started a cake selling business. it'll keep me occupied if nothing else!

lovesaruby · 30/08/2010 08:00

Morning all - just popped on here quickly to announce the arrival of Florence Rachel yesterday morning at 1215am - 8lb 10oz of gorgeousness! Was in established labour at 9pm Saturday night and she was out after half an hour of pushing! She was the hardest work of all three though, but totally worth it! Sending you all out labour vibes - hope a few more have arrived over night!

Roz14 · 30/08/2010 08:00

Tweakers - I know, I have got to the point now where I class anything as being a good nights sleep if I am not layed in bed stairing at the ceiling waiting for the morning to arrive Grin

morning iniz
i'm impressed your consultant's working today
I hope it goes well

porcamiseria · 30/08/2010 09:17

congrats ruby xx

I feel the same tweakers, surreal, like it will never happen. have a horrible feeling will be 2 weeks over and get induced with rocket fuel. my rota runs out after next weekend so may even be in labour on my own!

roz I was also invited to farm but could not face it.....

right now, think 2 DC is enough

at least had an OK sleep last night, feel like a new woman

I AM BORED NOW, have been for gentle walks in every park in West London now! house is clean, nesting pretty much done

marzipananimal · 30/08/2010 09:31

congratulations ruby :)

tweakers, there already is a postnatal august thread, or did you want one specially for us impatient types?!

Can a show still be a show if there's no trace of blood? If so I may have had one this morning

tweakers · 30/08/2010 09:57

oooh i reckon it might just be marzipan Smile

i did mean for us impatient ones. i joined the Aug10 thread originally back in Feb but found it was already pretty established and moved too quickly!

porca lots of nice parks over this way (i'm over in the East!) oooh and while you're over here, feel free to pop in to clean for a cup of tea Smile

Roz14 · 30/08/2010 09:58

CONGRATULATIONS Ruby - thats fantastic and i love the name Florence - on my list too Smile.

Tweakers - I think the post-natal thread sounds like a great idea. Labour and birth is just the start of things. It would be nice to get some support with all the other joys and stresses that come with it - you are sooooo organised Grin

Jungle - Im around the same point as you and am too getting a mixture of emotions right now - everything will be fine Smile

Porca - I know what you mean. I suggested going to the museum yesterday but don't no if I can face it. Will try to go for my DS sake but I am so knackered at moment. The thing is, I am also really bored so know I should try and do something interesting instead of moping around the house waiting for signs of labour.

I am under strict orders now from DH not to do anything too strenuous. My DS is starting swimming lessons tomorrow, which I really don't want him to miss and like I said on a previous post, the teacher in me is wanting to try and hold on to the 1st of September - although I really am impatient to see my baby NOW Grin

Roz14 · 30/08/2010 09:59

Inzidoodle - all these trips to the toilet and the hip pain is enough to drive you insane!!!

OP posts:
tweakers · 30/08/2010 10:05

lol roz, i don't think anyone has ever accused me of being organised before!

skyeplusbump · 30/08/2010 10:19

congratulations ruby! Grin

this is sooo unfair!

dd is away, but i still woke up at 7am-beats the usual 5am- but id had visions of arising at noon!Hmm Grin

and still no baby.

i have to stop this but everyday i wake up and think,it has to be today,
ive never been this pregnant before,im not impressed.

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2010 11:19

Me too Dancingonmybladder but I still have gimmer of hope that I can talk DH round in a couple of years but should probably push that far far back into my head as he's 15 years older than me so I understand his feelings plus he has another son from a previous relationship so will have 3 boys when this one's here.

Congratulations lovesaruby!!

Amazingly I didn't get up to wee once last night Roz14 not sure how that happened!!!

Feeling much happier today, had a trip to the cinema last night and boys stayed at my mum's. DH went to work 45mins ago and although it's lovely to have the house to myself I miss DS so much I am just off to pick them up! Have a good bank holiday all and fingers crossed there are some more announcements soon. I really don't feel anything imminent but I don't want to have him until Weds anyway so could be wishful thinking Wink

Cosmosis · 30/08/2010 12:59

Congratulations ruby we are getting quite a few smiley faces now!

Well nothing to report from me, still here at 40+8 with nothing at all going on.

WelcometotheJungle · 30/08/2010 14:20

Congratulations ruby fantastic effort!

tweakers and Roz - thanks for the support.

Have a sweep planned for wed morning and hope m cervix is ready for it.

It feels a bit like in limbo once you're overdue doesn't it?

All the clean clothes and prepared food shopping etc is dwindling before I even hit the hospital.

Oh well, as some other inspiring MNer said "Babies are born on their birthday, not on their due date".

I thought that was sweet.

WelcometotheJungle · 30/08/2010 14:29

tweakers I agree about the surreal aspect of this all.

Sometimes it feels to me like it's all about the pregnancy and discomfort towards the end.

Then it's all sweeps, inductions and due dates that I will be totally amazed to find that I actually will have a real baby at the end!

WelcometotheJungle · 30/08/2010 14:36

DancingOnMyBladder - I also am a bit sad about this pg being the last.

I don't know the gender of this baby and while I'd like a girl to give my DD asister I will be really sad not to ever have another little boy.

And vice versa.

Wow, will pregnant women ever be satisfied!

EmmaRoyd · 30/08/2010 15:40

Hi everyone, same here, same here- lots of signs but no action. I have also given up telling DH about any twinges. Now hoping to hang on until september 1st but the longer it goes on the more scared I am of being induced again. Seem to have more discharge today (sorry if that's TMI) but I never had the 'show' before so don't know what to expect. Does it always have blood in it? This will probably be our last baby, DH only wants two but I'm undecided. I'm not sad at the moment I think if I breastfeed this baby I will get sad when I stop feeding as that will mean to me my babies aren't babies anymore.

Roz14 · 30/08/2010 16:09

EmmaRoyd - I am nor sure if a show always has to have blood in it. I had a show last time and it did but as I mentioned on a previous post I had some kind of discharge yesterday (sorry again for TMI) and it seemed quite thick but no blood in it so who knows Confused.

I am undecided if this will be our last baby too - you dont know how you will feel in a couple of years time but my DH at the moment says he will be happy with two Smile
