Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present Smile

Probably no HB for me as broke my foot this morning on my due date Sad Fell flat on my side in the garden, was in a lot of pain and had massive swelling strainght away Sad. Went to A&E and after an Xray was told it was broken and had to have a cast, now MW thinks it's better to have baby in hospital Sad...Sorry for all the sad faces but I am feeling sad fr myself today!

tweakers · 30/08/2010 17:09

oh no candinha, that's such an awful shame. I don't understand how that affects your HB though

i've just changed my fb status to "Babies are born on their birthday, not on their due date" Grin It will hopefully quieten a few of my well meaning friends!

right, the next few days we're all on Operation Inzidoodle

Inzidoodle.... tomorrow, I will virtually join you on a half hour fast walk round the block...deal? Then, as soon as we're back, you're allowed to sit down for half an hour and then we're off out again. ok? trust me, I reckon its all the walking I did that got DS out on time. so, shall we say 2pm? we can 'meet' here first, get our shoes on and then we're off out...

tweakers · 30/08/2010 18:02

sorry, everyone is of course very welcome to join us! I'm not really a sergeant major in the Army! Blush

Roz14 · 30/08/2010 18:41

Inzidoodle - have you tried bouncing on a birthing/excercise ball yet (and I mean bouncing like on a space hopper and not rocking side to side). My waters broke a few hours after doing this, then my contractions came soon after - anything is worth a try Smile

Candinha - so sorry to hear about your ankle Sad. Never a good time for that to happen but so unlucky to happen on your due date. Inzi- how utterly frustrating for you. 'depends on the midwife' Angry. Just out of curiosity why are you having a CS?
I'll come on a virtual walk with you both. Hey.. as its virtual.. I might even jog!!!

skyeplusbump · 30/08/2010 19:29

sooo, had to pop to the mw today as no movement this morning(he's normaly VERY active or i wouldnt have been worried)he seems fine if a bit quite, but i have to have a scan tomorow as it's 'routine'Confused

that means a trip to the big hospital(30mins away and i dont drive have to rope my mum in) rather than the local mw led unit...soo how do i convince them to do a sweep?!(if im favorable)
may as well make it worth it eh?Hmm

sorry about the spelling, but i just dont seem to care much at the moment...Blush

skyeplusbump · 30/08/2010 19:41

roz14 i just fell of my birthing ball.
rather comicaly.
even the kitten is laughing at me.
and it's your fault.Blush

no scan appointments until tomorow...Hmm
so sorry to hear of your dd.

good luck with operation inzidoodle!
i'll come too!Wink

tweakers · 30/08/2010 20:54

emma its a real walk... but we're doing it virtually together! ie we meet here at 2, walk for half an hour and then compare notes on how our surges/contractions/braxtons are all doing i don't mind going on my own though

skye i know no movement is potentially worrying but I found with DS that he was alot less wriggly leading up to the day he was born. because he was moving less it meant i was hooked up to a monitor during whole labour but it does mean i'm less worried now DD is being a bit stiller iyswim. Ooh and just seen that iniz agrees with me that i might be baby getting ready to go. If you push on your bump, do you get kicked back?
sorry, giggling at you falling off your ball! DH fell off mine earlier, DS thought it was hilarious!

iniz course you can walk on the spot but you have to keep going for the whole half hour!
so sorry about your DD, must have been awful

how are you doing tonight roz?

porcamiseria · 30/08/2010 21:26

75% of births are late,so I hear! that said am going to get that sit up ball out of the attic

I just really want to have a more natural birth this time, no want oxytocin!

anyway, everyone is still intact I see. me to despite 2 massive walks

majorly depressing slavery on TV, thank god for Benidorm.....

would be nice to keep thread alive, wait for the cracked nipples, sore fannys and 2 hours of sleep if we are lucky..

whatb a pretty picture I paint......

EmmaRoyd · 30/08/2010 22:13

Inzi I'm so sorry to hear that. Must have been awful for you Sad.

Well I'll join operation inzidoodle and come for a walk. Didn't realise it was a real walk durr! Blush

tweakers · 30/08/2010 22:21

well a virtual walk isn't going to get any of our babies moving now is it, silly!

sssh porca, you'll spoil the surprise for the first timers Grin

i've finally made something for my own baby (as opposed to finishing all the orders for everyone else!) Smile
Pea now has her very own baby carrier and won't have to put up with her brother's second hand one! (good job really because i've already passed it on to my cousin!)

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2010 22:34

Due date tomorrow, although fingers crossed to wait til Weds. DS announced at bedtime that the baby's coming tomorrow so maybe he knows something I don't! Night all x

growingbump2 · 31/08/2010 08:13

Hi everyone, just popping in for role call, now 40 + 11, due in for induction tomorrow night. Have decided am going to have baby today though and looking at the list it is my turn Wink

Congratulations ruby!

Sending happy birthday wishes to everyone!

Roz14 · 31/08/2010 08:32

Happy due date cinnamon - lets keep our fingers and toes crossed for the babies to come tomorrow. I am under very strict instructions now (by my DH) not to do anything for the next 12-15 hours. Then tonight will be the night with my DH to see if we can get things moving a little faster GrinWink [wink}

Morning growingbump2 - them smiley faces are getting closer. Good luck for today Smile

Morning to everyone else - oooow where is tweakers, she is normally up bright and early. I wonder if today is the day for her???

tweakers · 31/08/2010 08:35

i'm here, really fed up and miserable so thought i'd keep quiet and not get you all down too

dh being a twat. from what i can gather he's got a difficult week at work and he had assumed he wouldn't be there for it because obviously he'd be on paternity by now

skyeplusbump · 31/08/2010 08:52

oh dear tweakers...my dp thought the same,he'd shut down the kitchen (he's a chef) and put sticky notes everywhere for the sous chef...Hmm

happy due date cinnamon!Grin

scan today at 1pm,so we shall see whats keeping lo so quiet.he is still moving a bit so im not to worriedHmm
was up ALL night with what i assume was false labour.
not happy.

also where are the lovely hudson boots i ordered last week?where, where, where??!!!!!Angry

EmmaRoyd · 31/08/2010 08:54

morning, you have my sympathies tweakers, my DH is regularly a twat Grin but then I knew that when I married him. We met up with some of his friends for lunch at a pub and he said when we got there 'can you drive so I can have a couple of pints?' I said.. but what if I go into labour?! I can't drive if I'm having contractions!.. he said "oh yeah. I forgot you were pregnant"!!Shock
(bearing in mind this wasn't early stages this is being over due). Well you must be more understanding, my NCT teacher (1st preg) couldn't emphasise enough how difficult this is all is for the men! Angry

skyeplusbump · 31/08/2010 09:01

my dp said that a few months ago...idiotsShock

EmmaRoyd · 31/08/2010 09:02

Any of you second or third timers really struggling to do very basic things like dress or feed your DC's? I am!! DD is only 20 months and being so naughty it takes me half an hour to catch her and wrestle her into her clothes.

marzipananimal · 31/08/2010 09:03

morning all, 40+12 today and having a sweep at lunchtime [mildly terrified emoticon]. Induction to follow on thursday if necessary :(
Can't believe it's almost sept and i'm still preg.
Good luck to everyone for today. Sypathies over husband work situations, mine got so fed up at work that he's decided to be off from now. Nice to have him around but don;t want to waste too much leave before baby comes

tweakers · 31/08/2010 09:04

its difficult for the men?!!! seriously?
i had a discussion re sleep with dh yesterday. apparently he was more tired despite getting more sleep than me (but less than he usually does) because i'm used to having less sleep and its therefore going to effect him more.

emma yours sounds as bad as mine! forgot you were pregnant?!

skye have you got a link for your boots? I'm sure they'll be here soon

oh and happy due date cinnamon
