Hi all. I am 38 plus 5 days pregnant and just wondering if there is any MN out there getting a little impatient with all this waiting. I am getting a lot of sharp pains and some back ache but nothing that really indicates that I will be going into labour any day soon. Anyone else feeling the same??? My EDD is 26th August - the day after my birthday so am looking forward to a really speacial birthday present Smile

Morning all
Congrats to Jen & Vickstas SmileSmile
Well up loads last night with horrible period style cramps in my back and lower tum a& BH also a need to keep pooing.......but all slowed down this am, so annoying Angry # Don't know how I'd feel if bubba arrived over wkend as I MC at 14 weeks this time last year so had a really bad experience at the hospital or it could do the opposite and replace bad for good memories Hmm

DS is absolutely fascinated with cars and bubbles at the moment so i had the cunning idea of combining the two and taking DH's car to the car wash! i know, does life get anymore exciting? still, its going to make DS's day! (he is only 2 to be fair!)

and then i guess it'll be lots of walks round the block to try and get this baby moving! so no, nothing particularly planned

cinnamongreyhound · 28/08/2010 10:00

We're off to the beach today, just eating breakfast and then we're going. Planned to go early but as always we lazy around on weekends and never get out until later than we've planned! But we will have fish and chips while there :)

DancingOnMyBladder · 28/08/2010 10:12

Morning all!!!!!

Well i'm still here and STILL PREGNANT!!! Angry

I really thought things were getting started last night. My boys went out for the day with my mum and stayed overnight. DH is a shift worker and was off yesterday so we went to town shopping and walked for about 4 hours (after my 5 hrs on tuesday and 3 on thursday- but still nothing!) Lots of cramps and a 'feeling' that i didn't feel quite right. ARGH!!

Ended up having a chinese and tried to pursuade DH to have a early night Blush but he wasn't keen. :(

Peaceful house now - boys still at mums and DH has gone to work.

How is everyone else feeling this morning? Any overnight developements?

marzipananimal · 28/08/2010 10:18

still pregnant here too I'm afraid! Despite sex (more than once!), 2 curries, several walks, pineapple juice, nipple twiddling and bouncing on exercise ball. What more do you want baby?!

Congrats to those who have delivered :)

On the subject of foot massage, I've booked a reflexologist to come round on monday to see if she can get things started. I'll be 41+4 then so hopefully ready!

Roz14 · 28/08/2010 10:48

Morning all

Iam still pregnant even though last night I hade the most painful backache that seemed to be coming in waves - but this morning nothing. Im going to do some DIY with my DH maybe that will do the trick but who knows!

good morning to you all Grin

growingbump2 · 28/08/2010 12:38

Morning all, also still pregnant, now 41 + 1. Had a curry last night to no avail, DH working till 4 today so have plenty of time to get myself and DS out of pyjamas. Think I may have accepted the fact that I am actually an elephant and will still be pregnant at Christmas!

Congrats to Jen and Vickstas, Grin

Have to go to tesco at some point today before roads close at 6 pm, also going to go and buy crib we were just going to use moses basket from DS but the longer I am overdue the more I seem to find to buy, repacked labour bag last night and contemplated removing tankini top as will no doubt end up with induction on Wednesday and won't get to use pool but the optimist inside of me left it in just incase. Also bought and packed thank you card and box of chocs for midwife.

Cakeandfinewine have been having similar feelings this morning, fingers crossed for us.

this baby has just GOT to come out before monday, cant stand the thought of another week being so pregnant and grumpy with dd tantruming her way through the day.Sad

just want to curl up under duvet with tea and junk food and good-to-cry-to-movie and feel sorry for myself until ds makes his grand entrance...but then i'll be moaning about how painful labour is...Blush

tweakers · 28/08/2010 18:30

labour pain is all in your mind Wink

skyeplusbump · 28/08/2010 18:42

according to the ina may book ive been reading,it will be a wonderful possibly orgasmic experience.
and the 'rushes' will feel like sea waves flooding my body...HmmWink

EmmaRoyd · 28/08/2010 18:51

hello skye I read an article on orgasmic births, one woman said how she just threw her head back in ecstacy and screamed 'this is so beautiful' Hmm

tweakers · 28/08/2010 19:32

lol, I read Ina May last time round! They did initially feel like rushes..... kinda!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/08/2010 20:35

Hello skyeplusbump- waves from due September thread :)

Have had a lot of braxton hicks today and had some of them at the same time as period pains at the bottom of my bump so maybe my body is actually starting to prepare!

skyeplusbump · 28/08/2010 20:51

Roz14 · 28/08/2010 21:54

Welcome sky
I too was hoping my baby would arrive early but here I still am 40+2. DS was 40+7 when he finally made his big enterance, so now I am just trying to relax (even though it is difficult with a 3 year old wanting to play chase around the garden) and ejoy what is left of my pregnancy (smile)

Is it just me or does everybody seem to get labour pains the same time every day. Here I am again, doubled over with shooting pains just like last evening, the evening before, the evening before that ..... etc, etc... Hmm.

OP posts:
Allegrogirl · 29/08/2010 07:21

Roz14 I am 40+7 and getting pains every night worsening from late afternoon onwards. It's driving me completely nuts. I am now more overdue than I went with DD at 40+6.

Going for a sweep today which isn't any fun either. I am a big moany whinge bag. If this goes on much longer I'm going to have to try sex.

I'm glad to see that at least yesterday no one had jumped my place in the queue. Where are all these August babies?

tweakers · 29/08/2010 08:43

happy due date to me Grin

morning all

skyeplusbump · 29/08/2010 08:58

I need to write a birth plan, what has everyone else written? baby is back to back so starting to think drugs are gonna be my friend, again

so its Bank Holiday tomorrow!
