Hi, wanted to start a new thread to be accountable. Plan to start with small changes and progress to calorie counting. Happy for anyone else to join. My first ever thread so hope I do this right.

Good luck to you! What changes are you planning?

I have 3.5 stone still to lose. I started with 10 stone to lose!

Good luck! What’s the plan? 🙂

I’ve got 5 stone to lose and currently calorie counting. It’s incredibly slow (losing 1-1.5lb per week) but it’s manageable and I don’t feel so in a deficit that I’m making myself ill. I’ve done very low calorie diets in the past but have never kept the weight off long term so am hoping this time round the slow and steady approach will help.

Thanks, I plan to start on Monday just by tracking food. I find that's a good start as I'm too lazy to eat if I have to track sometimes 😂

Definitely in it for slow and steady. I'll be happy with 0.5 a week.

I’m joining. My weight is out of control and I need to lose about 6 stone. Not sure on my plan but more water and counting calories is probably going to be a start.

I'm in. Need to lose loads - I don't do stones but 60kg. I like it when I get to the next number down - so have 3.2kg to get to the next level down.
I'm doing 14:10 IF and counting calories with My Fitness Pal. I have type 1 diabetes so watch my carbs anyway and I have no problem getting lots of veg. But my portions are way out of whack and I do like my wine!
I found with this last 10kg gain it has affected my mobility- stairs are harder and just walking around. So really want to drop 20kg relatively quickly to get back to feeling a bit more normal. I find eating 1600/day and I lose about a kilo a week (I'm tall).

I’m down 2lb this week yay.

starting weight: 19st 1lb
current weight: 18st 2lb
goal weight: 15st 7lb (I’m 6ft so not as awful
as that sounds!)

How is everyone doing?
I am down 1.7lb this week.

About to have a week’s holiday to make things really challenging. I am tracking on MFP. The key for me has always been to plan and log the next day’s food in advance, so that I am not making decisions hungry/stressed/tired

I’m having a bit of a tough week. Both our kids are autistic and have several huge meltdowns after school and I’ve fallen into bad habits. Am going to address and start again tomorrow.

Totally get it, my 7yo is so easy for the school holidays she's having lots of tears and is so clingy. Wishing you a better day

Can I join please, I really need some accountability.
At my heaviest I was 17st 3lbs (Jan 2021) casually using MFP to log calories and trying not to snack and binge late at night I dropped 2st 4lbs down to 14st 13lbs (March 2022) But I've totally slipped and slowly yo yo'd up and down between that and my current 15st 9lbs. My first goal weight is 13st, this would still put me as overweight but I feel Its achievable if I stick to it. And would motivate me further.
Snacking is my downfall. So I'm going to get back to drinking solely water and the odd coffee (I'm not a hot drink person) and properly logging my food into MFP I've set it to around 1500 calories which has been achievable for me to still feel full. I also need to get my kettlebell back out, which is gathering dust, lol . The first week or 2 is always so tough to kick start it. I'll weigh after the school run and update weekly on a Thursday xx. Seeing this post this morning has given me a little kick to start again and be serious this time.

Hi everyone,
Im still on holiday so just checking in but well done on the weight losses already. @Waifeandstray I hope u managed to get back on track it’s so easy to let things slip for us when life is tricky. You can do this, I loved your attitude of addressing it and starting again.

Im still on holiday for another 11 days and I look horrific. It’s the heaviest I’ve ever been and outfits I liked at home I don’t like here, I blame the mirror 😂 I’ve had a long chat with dh and going to get started on return. Going to make some plans so that I order the right foods and know what i’m eating for the first week when we get back. The minute I don’t have a plan it all falls apart. I also struggle with when I make a mistake starting fresh the next day instead of dragging it out for several days which I hope this group will help for. Good luck everyone x

A kg is 2.2 pounds.
So lost a couple the first week but then went away for four days, eating out every meal. The first day I stayed on track but three days I'm sure were over and confess I did that 'I've blown it now so might as well indulge'. But back on it today. I will weigh myself tomorrow and hope I haven't regained that 2kg (4.5lbs).
One thing I've realised over the past year is how much I'm avoiding social things. If I have not seen someone for a while I don't want to see them now. I moved 18 months ago back to London and a few old friends have reached out but I've made excuses not to see them as I'm 60lbs heavier. I feel like my life has been a bit on hold with this recent weight gain (I was 18 stone and size 18, but as I'm tall just looked overweight, not obese). Now I'm a size 22-24 and look horrible.
Though I did meet up with some people from my old neighbourhood (so they've seen me at this weight) and one I hadn't seen for a few months said 'you look like you've lost weight'! No, I've never been heavier, which made me think either she's trying to be misguidedly kind or just has a mental picture of me as a hippo.
