Hi, wanted to start a new thread to be accountable. Plan to start with small changes and progress to calorie counting. Happy for anyone else to join. My first ever thread so hope I do this right.

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I've made very slow progress in September, although on my defence, it was my birthday so there have been a few nights out, and some cake to contend with! Keeping up with the exercise, and trying to log food every day. Weighed in this morning at 11st 1lbs - started at 11st 7lbs on 17th August, so losing about 1lb per week. Slow progress, but still progress!

mondaytosunday · 27/09/2023 09:56

Took me three weeks to loose 2lbs. Discouraging. Still at it though. Really need to up my physical activity - the only thing I do is walk the dogs, and one is 14 so doesn't move fast and can't tolerate more than 30minutes a time.

mondaytosunday · 03/10/2023 11:08

Lost 2lbs this past week - hurrah! That's 24lbs in total since July 5, not as fast as I'd like, but I suppose I've had more than the usual amount of days where I went quite a bit off the diet, and others where I was eating at maintenance of my goal weight, so slooow. I have so much more to lose - even at this rate I'll still be overweight this time next year.
Don't lose focus people! This time next year we will all be a year older, but we can also be a lot healthier!

KAMi3240 · 07/10/2023 08:07

I've lost 0.4lb since last weigh in. In last ten days my relationship of 12 years ended, I broke a tooth and had a reaction to my COVID jab. In the past I would certainly have put about 7lb on with all that going on so a small weight loss in light of all that is definitely a win.

@lisam78 slow and steady wins the race! Happy belated birthday

@mondaytosunday you are doing great. Seriously I think my problem in the past has been massive losses too quickly that I can't sustain. You're making long term changes and they are adding up.

Today I broke the 200 barrier, now 199lbs hurrah!

I'm still living on protein shakes for meals and one proper meal a day, with snacks of chicken thighs and celery.

I do have bad days maybe once a week where I'll have home made crumble (df/gf) or a vegan choc bar!

Only 35lbs to go!

GingerLiberalFeminist · 24/10/2023 07:57

Hey how is everyone doing? It's always harder when it's cold! I've lost nothing this week

mondaytosunday · 26/10/2023 12:05

Hello! Checking in. My sister visited last week and she is so awful about food (former anorexic) I went a bit off the rails after she left. But I've now lost two stone/28lbs since July 5th. Not as good as previously when I averaged 10lbs/month. But I am definitely less active now than I was then.
Still want to lose another two stone by Christmas but that will require real discipline. But fear of that uncomfortable seven hour flight to the US is helping keep me motivated! When there i know I will be eating out a fair bit plus eating all those yummy American foods I miss! Can you say chocolate chip cookie dough? Cheesecake Factory? Decent Chinese food? I won't be drinking as no one does in my family, that's one thing.

KAMi3240 · 28/10/2023 08:58

@GingerLiberalFeminist good on you, those number barriers are great!

So with everything going on at home and then a load of new and stressful situations at work my mental health has nose dived. Literally just functioning has been my aim the last few weeks, I'm definitely off track and have definitely put weight on. I am also going to Disneyland this week !

Well hope you had a wonderful time! I haven't lost any more -well I lose a pound then gain it back. I still haven't started going to the gym or working out more. I'm going away in exactly two weeks and determined to lose a half stone more by then! Depressing that I will be heavier than the last time I saw everyone (and I was two stone heavier last time than the time before).

85isalive · 05/12/2023 18:31

Can I join? I am 4 stone into a 6 (maybe 7) journey. It has taken me 3 years to get this far, I have regained about a stone a couple of times, then lost it again. I want to get through the next stone without gaining, which is bad timing at the moment because all of a sudden I have social events in the diary, after months of nowhere to go 😂

Joining a few threads on here to try to get through December without doing too much damage. Hope that's OK!

GingerLiberalFeminist · 05/12/2023 21:37

You're most welcome!

I've completely plateaued for the second month but it's largely down to vast quantities of vegan chocolate :( Stuck at 193lbs.

Today I played with BMI calculators and realised I still need to lose 20lbs to stop being overweight :*(

Focus on one pound at a time, that's my aim!!!

Thank you for the welcome!

I have 20 lbs to go to healthy BMI too.

Feels so close (when compared to where I started) yet also so far.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 06/12/2023 16:05

@85isalive yeah I feel you, I'm the same. Trying to focus on the 1lb and stay away from chocolate 😣
I've just gone back to work from mat leave and I'm thrown by how much I've snacked during the day.

lisam78 · 08/12/2023 15:42

Finally hit 10st 10lbs today - it's been incredibly slow progress. Would love to get to 10st - at this pace, that will be April. I'll keep on plodding on!
