1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

How have the last few days been for everyone? I’m still battling the period bloat but have put on less than I would normally so hopefully that means next weeks figures will make me happy!

2lbs off for me this week! Really chuffed after a couple of weeks with a 1lb loss.

@BuntysBumperAnnual I feel the same as you with regards to my loss! Wish I could see more of a dramatic difference but hey ho, weight off is weight off

That's always good! Fingers crossed for you next week Batqueen! I decided to weigh myself in the end. Dropped 1lb which, whilst slightly disappointing based on my normal 2lb loss, I can totally accept for a period week. Hoping for a solid 2lb or even 3lb loss next week. If it's 1lb again in going to review my diet as I have been eating back some of my exercise calories on MFP so if my weight loss has slowed down I want to change that. I can cope if it's just period bloating though. Now 10st 9lbs. 16lbs to go!

@bettyskitchen wow 2llbs is fantastic!

Yeah slow and steady is frustrating - it feels like I should be seeing more for the amount of mental effort I've been putting in.

Speaking of which, just 1llb off for me this week and unlike you @lurchermom I don't have period bloat as an excuse so I'm going to go back to logging everything on mfp and try to up my activity levels. Another inch off my waist though so that's three inches off altogether. Tbh it was the abdo weight that was my main concern at the start of this so I'm very happy about that.

And 12 stone 8 is noticeably in a different area of the scales from 13 stone 4. I mean it's not even in the "nearly 13 stone" category, whereas before I was comfortably over it.

Lurchermom · 21/06/2020 20:19

Guilty day today - we've had Dominoes! I worked out I could have three and a half slices and still keep to my calories as I'd missed lunch. Ended up eating six seven slices. Oh well. One bad day doesn't make a bad week.

Batqueen · 22/06/2020 09:01

So first weigh in today for me post bloat and I M down 2.8kg now - 61.2kg! Feeling happy Grin I’ve lost half the weight of my cat which is a nice visualisation as she’s a bit of a chunky thing!

@Lurchermom I think we all need days like that! Let’s face it, if you are getting a dominoes you can’t stop at three slices!

Lurchermom · 22/06/2020 19:52

Yay!! Well done Batqueen , that's brilliant. Half a chunky cat 😂 love the visualisation.
Im trying not to be frustrated at myself for the pizza, this has to be a sustainable process so the odd spoilt day can't be too begrudge. I was mostly annoyed because I wanted a small pizza so I wouldn't over eat but it was cheaper to buy a big one! And naturally I ended up eating more than I planned. Still only myself to blame lol. Cutting down on biscuits for the rest of the week to earn some calories back.

PersonaNonGarter · 24/06/2020 21:51

Hi all, how is everyone getting on today? Congratulations on everyone’s lost weight so far.

I am definitely plateauing now. It was super exciting when the weight was coming off (8lbs in 4 weeks!) but now it feels like more of a slog. Not giving up though.

Has anyone tried their target clothing on in the last few days? (I have - still a long way to go! Grin)

Batqueen · 25/06/2020 13:14

My jeans don’t fit yet, but am wearing the shorts that were tight last summer and they fit!

MirandaWest · 25/06/2020 13:27

Hello - I finally hit the courage to weigh myself yesterday and didn’t like what I saw.

Am the heaviest I’ve ever been except for being pregnant and I need to do something about it.

I have always had a sweet tooth and have been eating way too many sweets recently.

Haven’t eaten any yesterday or today which for me is a big achievement. Am using MFP to log what I’m eating and once it’s been a week I will see how it’s going.

Batqueen · 25/06/2020 17:30

Hi Miranda!

You’ve taken the first step so we’ll done for getting started.

I’m trying to muster up enthusiasm to go for a walk but it’s so bloody hot today 🥵

Lurchermom · 25/06/2020 18:28

First step is the hardest Miranda! Once you get into a groove with your food you'll be well on your way!
Weigh in tomorrow for me, I'm hoping to see some good numbers as I've been strict with myself since the Dominoes incident and even created a deficit to make up for the over eating. Fingers crossed. Also measured myself and I've lost an inch on my waist, my hips and my boobs (but hoping for boobs it's back fat I've actually lost...)

MirandaWest · 25/06/2020 19:09

Thank you Smile

Still haven’t had any sweets - I am currently in the slightly grumpy phase I think!

I have been doing quite a bit of walking - I need to do couch to 5k again as I broke my ankle at the end of April and I think it is all right now at last.

MirandaWest · 26/06/2020 11:14

Did first run of couch to 5k this morning around 6:30 or so. I’ve been doing it on and off for about 12 years or so - it does work for me but it’s keeping it up that’s the hard part Grin

Still not had any sweets or chocolate Smile

Batqueen · 26/06/2020 11:21

Nicely done! How hot is it where you are? I think I’d melt if I went for a run but managed a walk yesterday evening.

MirandaWest · 26/06/2020 12:13

It’s a bit cooler today and at 6:30 or so it was fine for my run Smile

Am having lunchtime walk now.

DD says she’s going to make gingerbread this afternoon - I will be restrained and have one piece only Grin

Lurchermom · 27/06/2020 17:24

Weighed myself yesterday on weigh in day and came in at 10st 8lbs - so another 1lb weight loss. I was a bit gutted because I've really worked on my diet and I'm back to work so upped my step count by 5-7k a day from during lock down (now averaging 14-16k steps a day). However decided to weigh myself again this morning as I'd had quite a salt laden tea on Thursday night and 'lo and behold I'm now at 10st 7lbs so I'm counting that as a 2lb loss for the week so feeling much happier.
Officially a stone to go until target weight (9st 7lbs) though I'm thinking now I might try to go further (9st4lb maybe..)
11lbs lost so far

Also got my husband on board which is great for motivation. He's lost 7lbs so far, but has about 3st to go as was much more overweight than I was.

PersonaNonGarter · 28/06/2020 18:22

Hi all, how has it been going?

Really interested in whether people are still finding that they are motivated to get into their old clothes? 10lbs in 5weeks off here and I am sitting in some pre-lockdown jeans and they feel ok. I am still some way off the target trousers - but it is great to have got this far.

Tbh, I didn’t think I would stick it but the early success helped even though it is coming off slower now.

Congratulations on the shorts, @Batqueen Smile

Batqueen · 29/06/2020 12:52

I am motivated to get into the clothes but the hardest part for me is the plateau.

I find I’m not really losing weight on just 1200 alone - I have to be exercising a significant amount to push it down and it’s hard to get motivated to do that when it’s either really hot or rainy.

PersonaNonGarter · 29/06/2020 13:21

I totally hear ya @Batqueen - the plateau is hard. But think of the other half of the cat just waiting to slink off you!

I ordered new jeans and they just arrived. I thought they’d be a bit small but they don’t even do up. But they are not going back. Oh no sirree.

I am getting into them. We’ve come this far... Grin

MirandaWest · 29/06/2020 22:53

Until Wednesday when I have my next weigh in I won’t know if this is doing anything or not. Am hoping I’ve at least lost something Grin

MirandaWest · 01/07/2020 08:37

Weighed myself this morning and has lost 2.2kg Smile
So 79.5kg last Wednesday and 77.3kg today. And this has taken me from obese to overweight Smile

Batqueen · 01/07/2020 08:57

That’s fantastic Miranda! What a great result. That’s definitely got to be motivation to continue 😊
