I think a distorted picture may be being painted

I was once given a £1 and a cornish pasty "for me" by the Salvation Army as i sat in a shop doorway surrounded by bags (had been shopping). Aside from this-no.

oliveoil · 21/06/2007 09:33

never

I do however think people imagine that people staring are thinking "FGS cover up woman" when in fact they may be thinking "awwwwww how lovely, good god I am broody, I had better avert my eyes"

ahem

Never.
I was out by myself with DS on the south bank once and feeding him in the foyer of the QEH - a woman came up and asked if she could fetch me a drink.

The worst thing that happened to me was when DS was about 1 and in hospital for operations, the nursing staff used to swoop down on me like mother hens and declare that nursing mothers of child patients were entitled to free hospital meals from the trolley, and tried to force feed me on disgusting hospital food!

bookthief · 21/06/2007 09:34

Nope, no problems here.

No x2

Wisteria · 21/06/2007 09:35

Never had a problem, and it was quite a while ago. Very good point about getting looks and assuming they're negative, never thought of that

ChristmasPud · 21/06/2007 09:35

None at all, and have been 'doing it in public' for about 4 1/2 months now.

geekgirl · 21/06/2007 09:36

never - have bf 3 babies, all until they self-weaned in toddlerhood, and bf anywhere and everywhere

once had a couple of teenagers stare & giggle at me, but that's it

IdrisTheDragon · 21/06/2007 09:36

Never had a problem anywhere throughout over 18 months of feeding DS and then DD.

cathcart · 21/06/2007 09:37

not me

maisym · 21/06/2007 09:37

have bf my four everywhere and whilst toddlers - had never had a bad comment - only two good ones saying how super it was to see a mum bf.

ratfly · 21/06/2007 09:37

Never

Good point about the stares aswell, I often catch my self glancing at a breast feeding mother as it brings back such lovely memories and makes me feel a bit teary that those days have past.

edam · 21/06/2007 09:39

LOL at fillyjonk. No, never had any bother about feeding, apart from one GP who suggested I go in the 'feeding room' when ds was crying (I wasn't actually feeding him at the time and I think the GP was trying to be helpful rather than implying I had to hide away. 'Feeding room' was horrible nappy changing broom cupboard, though).
