This is why I don't support England and was dreading them winning as I don't think the fans deserve it. They don't deserve those boys.

The boys are English when they score goals but monkeys and the N word when they don't.

Rashford runs a campaign to feed starving kids and gets nothing but racial and other types of abuse week in week out. Sterling regularly vilified in the press for buying his mum a house and his wife shopping at Primark 🙄. Both rise above it and are nothing but professional in their measured comments. And they have to be or it would just get worse.

The right wing press if this country feeds the jingoism, racism and xenophobia and this place is just a cesspool now.

The lip service paid to the situation: the statements 'condeming' the racism and the pathetic kneeing (which the English fans have charmingly taken to booing). A nation that has to tell it's fans not to racially abuse its team because they lost a football game is not one to be proud of.

The kids who beat up my son for being not-white were not punching from overseas. The teenagers and grown men who shout racial slurs at my husband aren’t doing it from overseas, they’re doing it from across the street, from on the same bus.

If you’ve never experienced it, fine. I don’t expect you to understand. But I do expect you to shut up and listen to people who have experienced it. The fact that you don’t do this speaks volumes about who you are and what you’re trying to do here.

I am mixed race and this is why I tend to stay away from BMN because there is always someone happy to dominate every thread regarding race to tell us that racism doesn't exist in the UK regardless of the experience of black and brown people who live here.

Granted, as a middle aged woman what I experience is nowhere near the aggression and intimidation I experienced as a girl, and the area I live in is probably majority mixed heritage but its still there.

I guess its like any kind of abuse, its easier to look away and ignore it than it is to face it and do something about it.

I'm not a member of the organisation you refer to, but I can not believe some on here are trying to minimise the racism that exists in football ( a game I love) and society in general.

I guess there are none so blind as those that will not see.
