Think positive mlic

And where is anifersgirl she used to post a lot...

I'm convinced this little one's going to pop out soon. DD was 2 weeks over due but I just have a feeling - won't be holding my breath though.

Right, I'm 37+2, bought some Clary Sage today and some Grapefruit Seed oil, now what do I do with it?

Congratulations randomama

Gosh I'm so far down that list!

Dh bless him got home late, picked up dd and me from sil where dd had had tea, so she is asleep, cooked chicken risotto - chicken was off - I had a mouthful, thought it tasted a bit iffy, but I still have that awful baby taste in my mouth ate it - dh spat his out. I've just been sick but I know that I'll not sleep worrying about food poisoning - and bloomin' nearly 9pm and I've not yet eaten GRR. On the plus side he did come back with some nice red wine.

I'm so shattered, I so want this baby out.

Gracie123 · 02/07/2010 21:00

chulita take about 50ml of grapeseed oil and add 10 drops of clary sage.

Enlist DH for a full body massage.

Make sure he undertands that 'full body' means full body - from between your toes to your ear lobes. NOT just boobs and butt as most men seem to think!!

As a guide this should take him around 1 hour 45 minutes to do properly

I always think it's worth laying down the rules before we begin so that he doesn't keep asking if it's 'good enough'.

If he complains point out that you need to absorb it through as large a surface area as possible to get the most benefit.

If DH is non-compliant stick a few drops in your bath or on a damp flannel on the the radiator (although I'm not sure you'll have them on in this weather!!)

Gracie123 · 02/07/2010 21:04

DH be careful!! That ligament/pelvis thing is SPD, which is what I am now on permanent bed rest for!!! You should definitely not be vaccuuming (sp?) etc... NO weight bearing activities.

Make sure you get some rest or you could end up in chronic pain!

GlastonburyGoddess · 02/07/2010 21:07

congrats delta and randomama

jojo-hope your feeling better soon, he looks dead cute btw!

dh- well done with the hoovering, its such an effort when its this hot/humid isnt it, Did mine earlier and had to change my clothes after as I was so soaked in sweat

memphis83-having a fan in the room with baby in this weather is almost a necessity, its fine as long as its not focused on the baby but in circulating the air iyswim, likewise having the window open. just need to monitor babys temp by sticking a finger down the back of their neck/up on their chest, remember their extremities are not a reliable indicator of how hot they are!

violet-glad to hear everythings going well and that your more settled now at home, cant beleive its a week already!

chulita- The clary sage-you add a few drops to some milk to diperse it and then add to your bathwater-if you dont put in milk it just floats on top of the water! it can also be added to a base oil and massaged into back/tummy

Nothing significant to report here, still having uncomfortable BH whenever I walk around, cant really think I may have another 3weeks of this yet, Im well and truely at the stage of wanting it all over now

Its still so hot here we need a thunderstorm to clear the humidity

memphis83 · 02/07/2010 21:09

congrats random hope your doing well!
gracie ive just read your last post out to dh and when i got to the words should take 1 hr 45 he just laughed, i wont be getting that then!! he wont touch clary sage doesnt even like the smell on my skin when ive put it in the bath
wonder hope your ok after your off chicken, i can never tell til its too late if somesthing is off its usually cereal and i put off milk on it and eat it!
all week ive been sure i would pop so not locked car on the drive but ive given up and put it on tonight, dont think he will ever come out to meet me! just walked really lond corridor at hospital to visit relative and ran down the stairs and still nothing!!

Gracie123 · 02/07/2010 21:10

glasto I have massive BH every time I walk - which is only to go to the loo and even then on crutches!!

I can't believe I might have another 4 weeks to go .

Pretty sure I won't (I will pay bedford consultant anything to end this on the 19th!) but still feels like such a long time to wait...

memphis83 · 02/07/2010 21:11

glasto thanks for advice on fan i will pick one up on monday!
seen everyone saying congrats delta have i missed a post on here i seem to have not seen her post!????

Gracie123 · 02/07/2010 21:14

Ha Ha!! I have to catch DH on a good day for this memphis

Helps that he is pretty much guaranteed to get some afterwards if he does it properly!!

I also remind him that it comes with having a masseuse for a wife - it's not like I don't return the favour.

He is more reluctant this pregnancy though. Probably because my back/hip is too sore for any sex and I can't massage him...

Chulita · 02/07/2010 21:41

Thanks gracie and glaston - I don't reckon I'd ever get that long a massage! It'll be the bath mostly I think cos DH can leave me there while he plays Xbox without me hassling him

I get BH everytime I walk too - had a huge one this evening in the Sainsbury's car park, proper belly-clutcher but I could still have ages too so each BH just teases me.

memphis delta posted on the old thread.

Unfortunately all aromatherapy oils are best absorbed through the skin (although smelling does have benefits) and massage is the best way to push it in there!

If DH really can't manage a massage (play up the 'get this baby out of me thing' ) then you could try massaging yourself (arms, belly - anywhere you can reach!). Just rub it in for as long as possible (use a bit less grapeseed oil - maybe only 20mls) to make sure you aren't let with loads.

Maybe if you rub yourself provocatively enough next to TV screen DH will turn Xbox of and get involved?

stac14 · 03/07/2010 05:10

memphis83 · 03/07/2010 07:51

thanks chulita and congrats delta
gracie haha maybe thats why hes reluctant as hes not getting sex after? my dh wouldnt even rub it in for me with a promise of sex...thats how much he cant stand the smell!!
oh stac hope they let you home soon, thought they would take her into room on her own if she was being noisy!! you will sleep better in your own bed! only a few more days and you will have your baby in your arms!!

grumpypumpkin · 03/07/2010 10:37

stac Sympathies! Lucky you though, knowing that Weds is the day!
gracie I have a very similar DH and everytime in past couple of weeks that I suggest sex/ massage/ anything that involves a bit of effort on his part he puts on his sleepy eyes and smiles in a "fobby off" kind of way! We have a date for a shag tomorrow though as he is off work and will have had some rest..... God knows what it will be like after baby arrives!!

kkfairybrains · 03/07/2010 12:23

lol grumpy! enjoy your date!
stac that doesnt sound to nice.hopefully you'l get out very soon. and lucky you knowing when this baby is going to come!
aw ladies hate to moan again but this cold has got way worse today.its all down in my chest and stomach and im really weak with it.nearly fainted there making porridge for myself. went into the chemist in town and thought i was going to have to get dp to come in and collect me i got so weak. they gave me eputex but he said really since im due tomorrow i should be taking as little as possible. if i went into labour now i really wouldnt have the strength in my body. and i sound like someone who smokes 60 fags a day cos its a pure dry cough and its rippin the chest out of me.
sorry just needed to moan no1 even needs to answer that im just sick of this

memphis83 · 03/07/2010 13:16

kk sounds terrible, hope with a rest today you pick up, if you dont improve maybe you should ring nhs direct?
ive got no energy what so ever today and am struggling to keep my eyes open for longer than 10 mins at a time, when ever i walk every footstep feels tike a huge amount of pressure reaaly low like my bladder is really fit to burst! wish this would mean its going to start for me soon, but realistically ives now got it in my head i will go over!

Jojobil · 03/07/2010 14:53

Poor KK I hope you shake it off asap!

Congratulations Rando!

Stac hope you get out of the hospital and enjoy your last few days before Wednesday!

Violet Iris looks sweet. And I can not believe you are in such a great shape - you look great! I am soo fat - can not wait to start shifting all this weight!

Emster My breasts I like twice the size now and they were huge already! I got a nursing bra before but it is far too small now. I went to M&S but they only had one that I did not like and the lady told me to go to Bravissimo... I will on Monday after registering Frank!

I can't believe it's his 5th day today He is gorgeous - refuses to sleep in his moses basket at night though... So I keep trying to put him there and have to get up and get him again... Thank God DH is helping me out with DD! He let me sleep in the morning. I had to ask for stronger pain killers and got codeine which helps a lot! I can now cope better..

He is about to wake up! He slept long enough for me to have a shower and do the washing! Can not believe how many clothes and muslins we go through every day!

Hope you have a good day everyone!

kkfairybrains · 03/07/2010 16:43

jojo you sound in alot better form which is brill!
memphis im in ireland so no such thing as nhs direct or equivilant of it here! feeling less light headed but stil not able for anything but dp has done absolutely everything for me bless him

Wonderstuff · 03/07/2010 17:20

kk poor you, cold sounds horrid

I am just so tired today, slept last night and the night before, but still just eye wateringly shattered.

DD is going between gorgeous and terror - she knows I'm not on form and so is pretty much doing as she pleases. Yesterday she had a major meltdown when I binned a sticker that she had chewed - she told me she wanted to go back to our old house because mummy didn't have a baby in her tummy in the old house - ouch. Dh is being a superstar thank god - I had total meltdown this morning, I miss me..

Chulita · 03/07/2010 17:35

kk sorry you're feeling so rough - sounds awful

wonder I feel exactly the same way - just full on, brain-shatteringly knackered. DD is playing up a bit too but only cos she's desperate for attention and I don't have the energy to give her any. DH is being lovely but he doesn't understand how tired I actually am! I miss me too...

stac I hope they release you soon, you must be so fed up.

jojo glad you're sounding better!

This is the time of day when the BH start up and get going til bedtime...very boring now, I only had them for about 2 days before I went into labour with DD but these have dragged on for days and days. I'm not due for another 2.5wks and DD was 14 days overdue - AAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 03/07/2010 18:02

aw wonder i bet that pulled at the heartstrings! i really envy those of you doing this when you already have children to entertain. its amazing that we can sleep so much and still not feel rested! whats your iron levels like?
chulita im the same with the braxton hicks! every 5 mins i get them and they'l even wake me up at night now.not belly clutch sore but they're very strong.just not letting myself believe that they're doing anything as much as i'd like to believe it!

stac14 · 03/07/2010 19:23

Evening all, eventually got home today. The doc asked if i wanted to stay until my section for a rest. I said no and that i assumed he hadnt stayed on a labour ward before as a rest certainly wasnt what you got. The ladies were lovely but i needed home. Sounds like everyones been feeling a bit exhausted and ran down, roll on the babies.

kk could you call maternity for some advice? They may be better than the pharmacist hun.

I am lucky to know when shes coming but its quite nerve wracking too as you know whats coming lol. Just ate a chinese and i am so regretting it, stomach is aching.

Glad to hear all the lo's are settling down and mums are good too. I am still using this daft phone and will prise the laptop from dp so i can catch up properly. X

Evening all!!! Finally got a few mins to op on and say thanks to you all for your congratulations...

So..settling in ok. It is quite hard to remember what we did last time with dd, but also just to play everything by ear and to keep everything low stress.

DD is loving LO, but is finding it hard when he is around if she is naughty/defiant/rude I think....we are trying to make sure we don't compare them so she doesn't feel pushed out...any advice greatly received!

LO is Isaac Henry born 1.54am on 30 Jun. I was watching 'Today at Wimbledon' on Tues night, when I had a couple of contractions, but dismissed them as the same old BH I had been having. I had felt a bit sick and rubbish all day, but, again, nothing new there!

The second contraction got quite painful and at its peak, there was a loud pop (like a blown up bag of crisps) and water went all over the cushion I was sitting on....then DH got some towels and I rushed upstairs into the shower as the water kept coming. It was clear....and was definitely not wee!

Rang delivery suite and they said to come in, even if nothing happened, they needed to confirm that it was waters breaking.
Then a few mins later, more contractions started so we called PIL and they took what felt like ages to arrive and we went in. Contractions went from 9 mins in between to 6 by the time we got there. Put TENS on, by 12-30 ish had the boost on constantly!! Then MW suggested gas and air for the transiition phase. So glad I did, as 45 min of painful contractions later LO was born after two pushes against very strong urge to push!!

Have some stiches, but otherwise all fine. Baby a little jaundiced, but doing well and breastfeeding going well!

Congratulations to all on the arrivals....some very quick labours going on!

Lots of thoughts of luck to all still waiting...the relief when they arrive is immense!

Best get into the lavender/teatree bath then...
