Evening all!!! Finally got a few mins to op on and say thanks to you all for your congratulations...
So..settling in ok. It is quite hard to remember what we did last time with dd, but also just to play everything by ear and to keep everything low stress.
DD is loving LO, but is finding it hard when he is around if she is naughty/defiant/rude I think....we are trying to make sure we don't compare them so she doesn't feel pushed out...any advice greatly received!
LO is Isaac Henry born 1.54am on 30 Jun. I was watching 'Today at Wimbledon' on Tues night, when I had a couple of contractions, but dismissed them as the same old BH I had been having. I had felt a bit sick and rubbish all day, but, again, nothing new there!
The second contraction got quite painful and at its peak, there was a loud pop (like a blown up bag of crisps) and water went all over the cushion I was sitting on....then DH got some towels and I rushed upstairs into the shower as the water kept coming. It was clear....and was definitely not wee!
Rang delivery suite and they said to come in, even if nothing happened, they needed to confirm that it was waters breaking.
Then a few mins later, more contractions started so we called PIL and they took what felt like ages to arrive and we went in. Contractions went from 9 mins in between to 6 by the time we got there. Put TENS on, by 12-30 ish had the boost on constantly!! Then MW suggested gas and air for the transiition phase. So glad I did, as 45 min of painful contractions later LO was born after two pushes against very strong urge to push!!
Have some stiches, but otherwise all fine. Baby a little jaundiced, but doing well and breastfeeding going well!
Congratulations to all on the arrivals....some very quick labours going on!
Lots of thoughts of luck to all still waiting...the relief when they arrive is immense!
Best get into the lavender/teatree bath then...
