Brilliant news about lo delta so glad you and baby are doing well. I would be grateful to hear any advice on how not to make other kids feel left out or compared too as well. To add photos you click onto my mumsnet at the the top of this page, then it offers you options like upload pics you go from there

mlic you poor thing, I would phone the hospital on monday and ask what they would rather you do, glad to hear your feeling a bit better hun

Just got laptop and ds wants a look, will pop on later xxx

memphis83 · 03/07/2010 22:26

delta sounds like an amzing experience and what a lovely name, love the description like a pack of crisps popping, there was no mistaking it was definatly your waters
mlic what a stressful day for you! glad everything settled down!

im home alone and getting a few pains! we went to see dh's gran in hospital and she wasnt good at all, dont know if it was stress from it but started getting pains straight away, got home and ate then they called for him to go back as she is so ill so i told him to go, poor love was clearly in limbo not wanting to leave me, but mum is on call and hes only half an hour away if it gets worse, but i doubt it will! just been feeling all day like something wants to pop or twang inside! just wish it would come to something!

stac14 · 03/07/2010 22:35

aw memphis huni, hope your ok. Hard for dh to split himself in 2, equally hard for you to let him go. Thoughts are with you. When you back at mw? X

memphis83 · 03/07/2010 23:04

stac id prefer him there than with me, i have been panicky with him here but im a lot calmer on my own as there is no one to cry to im back at mw wednesday, wonder what my new mw is like, cant believe my mw is so selfish to be getting married week of my edd

stac14 · 03/07/2010 23:26

how very dare she memphis lol. I know what you mean bout panicking while with dh, i felt a bit nervy a few times when in hospital but worked through it as i wasnt wanting to phone and worry him. How many wks are you now? X

Gracie123 · 04/07/2010 02:34

Having the same problems with Braxton hicks. Why didn't I have any with DS?
They've woken me up and I can't get back to sleep, so am now running what is fast becoming my ritual 3am bath.

isaac is a beautiful name btw way. I love it.

Wonderstuff · 04/07/2010 07:24

Ohh good point about iron levels, were border line so she took more bloods week before last and I haven't called to find out what they are.

Well dispite not going to bed until 9pm dd is up and at them now - thank god for ceebies - I think I've now seen all the episodes of Charlie and Lola.

memphis poor you. Not great timing.

Congratulations delta sounds like a great birth

MILC that sounds scary, glad you are feeling better.

Congratulations Delta - what a lovely name too. Thanks for sharing the birth story. I have so little idea what to expect and it's great to hear such a positive experience (although I want to hear all about the more difficult labours too so my expectations are reasonable).

I'm a small bit shocked at how quickly everything happened though. DH works a long way away and I have no one else to drive me to the hospital but I haven't worried as I have always assumed that it would take at least 12 hours to reach established labour. Hmmm, maybe I need to have a a back-up plan.

memphis83 · 04/07/2010 09:03

stac im 39+2 so due friday, cant believe ive got here, no one thought my body could cope for this long, on one hand its an achievment with all medical probs but on the other they were so sure i wouldnt go full term i had it in my head i would be a mummy now!
well dh got home last night and his gran is still holding her own, by the time he got back sitting on my ball wasnt doing anything so i was on my knees leaning over it, he had to help me up/into bed/out of bed etc as pain was so bad then 3 am comes around as usual and it stops!! just going to try and stay on my feet today so im going to ice the 50 cupcakes i made yesterday, and i have so many easter eggs still thought i would make crispir cakes to empty the shelf of them!
wonder if we will have any babies today?

kkfairybrains · 04/07/2010 09:16

happy due date to me!!!! getting loads of braxton hicks even all night they kept waking me and few crampy pains in my belly today but nothing major.am awae since 7 and im sitting downstairs and dp just rang me from upstairs,he's awake now too so going up to lie and watch telly for a while .
delta lovely birth story! god i hope it goes as smooth as that for me!
feeling quite a bit better today.dont have the lightheadedness at all so thats brill.and the stuff is starting to loosen a bit in my chest although im stil very hoarse.but im on the mend so im happy!
wonder i always find im real tired like that when my iron levels are down so i take 2 tablets instead of 1 a day. 1 in morn and 1 in night.
memphis hope you have a better day today.send over a few of them cupcakes!
stac id say your thrilled to be home xx
right be back later xx

Jojobil · 04/07/2010 12:25

Congratulations Delta what a great birth story! Well done

beckyg123 · 04/07/2010 13:55

Happy due date KK hope those pains come to something and baby arrives on time!!! Glad your cold is clearing up!

delta thanks for the great story, think we're all hoping for an experience like yours

jojo nice to hear your all settled now

stac bet your glad to be home now! did you get a good sleep in your own bed?

MLIC sorry to hear about your day yesterday- glad your feeling better tho!

memphis how are the cup cakes looking? pains settled down?

i obviously have some changes going on today as the dog will not leave me alone- she is constantly on me, panting and trembling at times! took her for a walk in park and she played as usual so she's not unwell- just can't be separated from me i really feel sorry for her as she seems quite upset!

my friend stayed over last night and has not long left, DH has gone to work so feeling a little abandoned! i hate it when everyone goes away!

NorkyButNice · 04/07/2010 15:39

Congrats delta - glad to hear of another "pleasant" birth experience for the July crowd!

Hope everyone else is doing OK - still too warm here for me although there's a nice breeze through the house for once.

I've been having BH/contractions (not sure which) regularly for 2 days now, not sure if and when they are going to come to anything but they are every 6 or 7 minutes and stopped me from going to sleep till 4.30 this morning! Managed to get some shut-eye eventually but they're still going now.

This is totally different from my last labour, as my waters broke before any contractions, and DS was born 7 hours later!

kittykat77 · 04/07/2010 16:00

Afternoon everyone.

Congratulations to all the new arrivals!

Nothing to report here. 38 weeks today, and have been having contractions on and off and back ache and cramps for a couple of weeks now, so have no idea when the real thing will kick off!

Norky I never had any of this the last time either. Was induced at 38 weeks with DD, and then the only time I had any contraction type things going on with DS was the day I had him! So this one is obviously totally different!

Have been attempting to tidy the house today, as it isn't quite so hot here, but am completely knackered now so have had to give up! Hope everyone else is well.

Chulita · 04/07/2010 17:08

I was reading up on stuff and apparently you get more BH/contractions earlier on with subsequent pregnancies which would explain why a lot of us have had them for aaaaaages! I'm so tired of them now...

stac14 · 04/07/2010 19:28

hey ladies

Happy due date kk anything happening?

Yum @ cupcakes memphis hows dh's grandma?

becky i did get a better sleep but also found i am sore again typical lol. Maybe your dog senses labour? Mine missed me like mad when i was in hospital so don't think he'l be too happy when i'm away again this week. You never know we may meet in the hospital lol

It was pouring with rain and high winds but still roasting, wish it would cool down a bit. Had to go to mothercare to get a raincover for car chair, hadnt thought until saw the weather today and realised we needed one lol.

kitty housework is a nightmare in this weather isnt it?

norky hope the pains come to something soon hun

I must be the opposite from everyone else, i don't want the pains or anything so i can go in and get my section lol. Starting to get excited now. Can't wait to hear who's next to have lo x

beckyg123 · 04/07/2010 19:29

Oh you poor ladies with all those BHs! Must be confusing when you don't know whether or not to get excited!
I am having one now and then but nothing like you girls who already have kids!

I've had a relaxing afternoon sorting out photos from last few years and working out how to use facebook!

Just watched the film - marley and me! i have been crying for an hour straight, lol! can't believe how emotional i am with a film- have read the book so knew what was going to happen but the tears kept on flowing! need to do something to distract myself now...

beckyg123 · 04/07/2010 19:35

Just cross posted with you there stac! would be funny if we were in at same time... i would love to go this week so fingers crossed! DH was convinced the dog was sensing something to do with labour but not feeling any different today- have a feeling its more to do with the crazy wind and rain today! glad you got some sleep- are you sore with pelvic pain or contraction type pain?
We checked out rain cover today too! lol!

memphis83 · 04/07/2010 19:44

happy due date kk!!!
chulita i got told BH's went on for weeks when your having baby 2 or 3, someone even sat there telling me today that after birth pains are like giving birth all over again for days after i looked mortified then she said oh you dont get them with your 1st though so your ok!! maybe the look of fear made her realise what she was saying to me!
stac cupcakes are lovely not as moist as i hoped though! DH's gran is still holding her own, thik it could be a slow process her organs are failing slowly, i just hope she gets to meet LO!
becky my dog is acting strange past few days too, not really wanting to eat or come near me! when he walks by me he sniffs my bump and has an aloof look on his face!
still got pressure so i put into google tips to get waters to break as im positive that its pressure from waters and found a good tip, it says wear your best most expensive underwear, sods law your waters will break while youve got them on!! it made me laugh! not sure mine will fit at the mo!

NorkyButNice · 04/07/2010 20:18

I hope DHs nan isn't too uncomfortable Memphis and that she gets to meet LO.

I'm hoping to avoid a CS but am envious of those who know when they'll be meeting their babies!

Still having pains - slowed down to 9 mins or so but more painful. No idea whats happening!

And I definitely had after-pains with DS, they can be really painful!

becky hormonal or not i couldnt watch marley and me, i can't even watch lassie lol. We got a universal one that fits the maxi cosi for £10. I'm on facebook too, have the countdown up for lo's arrival

Aw memphis what a hard time for you both. She may be waiting to see lo hun. I would love a cupcake but had to make do with diabetic ice cream, tasted ok but texture seemed gritty

Lol at waters breaking on expensive knickers, every pair i wear at the mo are primark specials lmao x
