OH stac hope your stay in hospital is ok! and the heat calms down soon!!!
How do you feel about it all? You hoping things start themselves or would you prefer to wait til wednesday? They taking you into the maternity wards?

kkfairybrains · 30/06/2010 15:57

norky and becky you poor things! i have one little bugger on the outside and a few inside but hey've never hurt me as much as they're hurting you 2. have no remedies im afraid.when i was bleeding very bad with mine a nurse told me to eat brazil nuts or that type of thing and drink LOADS of water.like twicw the amount you would normally drink.cant think of anything else she said but if i do i'll let you know. i've been worried about what they'll be like after pushing the baby out too. and mine has appeared at the start of prgnancy and hasn't gone so wondering if its planning on being a permanent fixture down there?!
stac i dont envy you havin to stay in hospital tonight! did you ask why they were giving the injections since its past 37 weeks? fingers crossed you'll go yourself before that.
wonder are are 2 ladies mummy's yet?
oh yeah dh was meant to say earlier i have such a feeling you're going to go early! you seem to be getting the pressure and that for a good while now.how did your lunch and shopping go today?

stac14 · 30/06/2010 16:27

becky i am being put on labour ward 68 have asked dp to get me ear plugs and i'm goin to treat it as a rest (who am i trying to kid lmao). Even if i go into labour alone i would be sectioned as downstairs was left a mess after ds was born and with lo being big if i went natural i could end up double incontinant. Hope your piles calm down hun

kk i'm stuck there till the latest saturday but i got 3 books from the library. Tbh i'm goin to miss my boys as i'm never away from them which will make me sad. Hope i get my own room haha. The jags are to strengthen her lungs as during a normal delivery it would cause stress on them to make them work were as you don't have that with a section so the steroids are given to mature them even more (does that make sense?) hope your piles dont get worse, get cream asap to try and prevent them being bad after birth x

beckyg123 · 30/06/2010 16:57

well stac enjoy your "rest" you never know! You might be ok on ward, i think a single room could be pretty lonely? Will the boys be able to visit lots or are they strict on times?

KK here's hoping the birth doesn't cause to many pile complications! althought maybe we'll have so much else going on we'll hardly notice! I know you can have them surgically removed if they don't go away so no permanent fixtures!!!

kkfairybrains · 30/06/2010 17:07

aw stac hope you dont have to stay that long and be away from the boys! at least when your in after your section you'll have the baby to keep you occupied! and yeah that makes sense now. was just wonderin as i thought they were considered term after 37 weeks but i can see why now.
becky between the bits to the back and front we'l be sitting on swimming rings! oh well it'll all be worth it...........or so they say! ha ha! good to know you can get them removed though so i'l bear that in mind

stac14 · 30/06/2010 17:22

i was thinking that becky i would be so bored at least dp can visit from 10am to 9pm, which is the same when lo is born. Everyone else will only be up at visiting times.

kk wasnt sure if i had wrote it arse from elbow lol. Your right next week will be totally different. Regarding how your bits are after lo is born buy a water ring it does help, i had stitches and pile after ds and the ring helped me honestly.

Thanks for being so supportive ladies becky defo need to catch up with you and violet when we all have lo's. Wish we could all meet up and see all the gorgeous babies x

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/06/2010 17:23

kk oooh I hope your right! I had my mw app earlier and she said he wont go down any further now til labour and he is all set to go, laying in the right position etc
I mentioned the pressure to the mw, she said its the ligaments softening and the bones rubbing together- ouch!
Shopping was good but was starting to feel very weak and shaky by the end as I hadnt eaten enough before going out, had a loooovely lunch though!

stac hope things go ok for you at the hospital, I dont envy you having to stay there either but not long til you meet your LO now!

I bought a nice big nightie from Peacocks today, only £4 and has buttons going down the front but not all the way so good for breatfeeding without flashing all my bits!

stac14 · 30/06/2010 17:45

thanks dh i hope your on your way huni, its so exciting. Defo sounds promising to me, fingers crossed for you x

Emster30 · 30/06/2010 18:17

It's all so exciting now! Stac I hope your stay in hospital is OK and it's not too hot for comfort.

memphis83 · 30/06/2010 18:20

stac good luck with your hospital stay, enjoy your books it will probably be the last time you get to read one for a while!
feeling sorry for all you ladies with piles maybe sitting ona ring would take the pressure off, my mum carried one on handle of pushchair with my brother hers were so bad she had no shame(shes says hes been a pain in the backside ever since!)

just got back from my scan, LO was very big and off the scale in size at 30 weeks and now hes the opposite very small for gestation, they think around 6 pound mark, so if i go to next week he should be about 7, sounds a lot better than the 10-11 pound they predicted he would be!! hes very healthy and i got very emotional, sucking his hand and blowing kisses! been very teary ever since waiting for dh to come homes hes taking me out for tea he was upset he didnt make it back but took my little sister and step mum, sis was facinated and step mum got emotional too, got my gliding crib it is gorgeous i keep going to have a play with it!

Wonderstuff · 30/06/2010 19:12

stac hope hospital stay goes well.

DH fingers crossed you will have your lo soon

memphis scan sounds good, lovely to be able to share it with sis and step mum - I took mum to a scan when I was pg with dd, she welled up when she heard the heartbeat - it was really special. LOL @ db being a pain in the backside. Thoughts with everyone with piles - is horrid.

Just ordered a make a doll kit from clothkits - I'm hoping it will be the maternity leave equivilant of lighting a fag while waiting for a bus remember my mum making one for me when I was little. so cute

Chulita · 30/06/2010 19:46

Aaah! wonder that's the exact kit mum made for me, still got her. Mum made lots of matching outfits for the two of us - nighties/safari jackets/dresses. Got lots of pics of the two of us matching!

Will post tomorrow, got mil and sil and don't want to ignore them!

Good luck to all and labour vibes to everyone.

Can't remember who asked now after catching up on all that(!) but as far as base oils go, for massage it depends how luxurious you want to be

I use coconut oil on myself & DH (comes as a solid) from my local ethnic food store as I can get a big vat of it for £3. Just heat some gently (eg. put a bowl with a tablespoonful on the radiator for 5 mins) and it turns back into a liquid.

For a client I usually use sweet almond oil (looks a bit more luxurious and is quite rich) or grape seed oil if they are allergic to nuts.

Both can be picked up fairly cheap at a health food store (although not as cheap as the coconut oil!)

Gracie123 · 30/06/2010 20:10

P.s. Clary sage isn't terrible but should just be used in small quantities and only after 37 weeks.

Very jealous of brownies. I've got all the ingredients to make them, but not enough strength in my hip to spend that long in the kitchen!! DH is bringing me ready meals in bed at the minute, but at least I'm getting fed, even if it is lasagne again

Physio was adament that LO is fully engaged according to scan notes - which explains why they stopped measuring head circumference and why the SPD came on so suddenly. She thinks the baby's head is forcing the pelvis to part, whereas before it was just heavy, now even the brace isn't helping because we can't force LO out to put the pelvis back together IYSWIM.

She just wants me to spend as much time as possible sitting or lying down until we get to 37 wks (only 9 days away!) and then we can talk about doing a section.

She keeps trying to prescribe me more painkillers and really won't take no for an answer, so I have them by the bed, unopened, in case I ever give in!

viksam · 30/06/2010 20:58

Oh god gracie that sounds rubbish. Are u able to get around at all? How are u filling ur time?
mylife Jelouse of the reflexology, i cant find anyone qualified in my area. Also jelouse of icecream on the beach, hoping to go myself on saturday!
Wonder those dolls are ace, a real blast from the past.
Stac hope ur stay is ok.

Well i have cleaned the house to death, well down stairs anyhow. My DH said he thinks i have OCD where cleaning is concerned but he doesnt see the grime that the cats leave behind on things like the window sills and skirting boards, it would look horrendous if i didnt keep on top of it. I think the cats are gona drive me mad when the baby is here, i have already found one of them IN the cot, really not good in my book. I now have insect nets on everything!!
I hope the HV appreciates all this effore!! Actually i have friends coming on friday so its all for a good reason.
Sorry to everyone with the dreaded piles, my DH suffers from them horribly, i hope u find some relief.

Wonderstuff · 30/06/2010 21:07

Oh gracie you poor thing - hope the next 9 days go quick for you. Going to town tomorrow will check out the health food store

Jealous you still have your doll chulita I have nothing from childhood - my parents moved house a few times and everything got chucked out Apparently the original was printed in 1978! I love the dresses so much I'm tempted to buy a sewing machine - no idea when I'm going to find time though, have to remember I am going to have to go back to work at some point.

I think dd might have actually gone to sleep first time tonight - might crack open the mars ice creams - got horrid indigestion already, don't think it can get worse. Consultant tomorrow, don't really think I need to see him, couldn't understand half of what he said last time (I'm rubbish at accents) got to get up early and drag dd along too - meeting my gran after though so that'll be nice, don't see her too often.

Hope you all get a good nights sleep. Wonder if we'll have more babies tomorrow?

Gracie123 · 30/06/2010 22:09

Yeah, it's pretty rubbish. DS is very good at bringing me things though (could you bring mummy that magazine? Could you get daddies laptop? Etc...) he thinks getting to spend the day in mummies room is a great privelege!

Unfortunately at 2.5 he can't make me food or drinks.
Does a great job of putting himself to bed when I say it's time for a nap though

we've had the odd tantrum, but generally he's happy to just bring a couple of toys to play with me and he goes to his room to swap them when he is bored.

Massively helps that the school are on summer timetable DH collects him at lunchtime and he gets 'help' coach afternoon activities. This week he's done cricket, sailing and swimming. It's really not a bad lifestyle for him!

stac14 · 30/06/2010 22:42

gracie you poor luv, hope it flies by. How sweet is your ds? Will you have to get steroids like me?

Whats the cons app for wonder? A lady here got a right bollocking for not seeing the cons, buggers that they are.

viksam when i had ds my cat thought the moses basket and cot was for him even when lo was in it. I really started to loathe him. But not all cats are the same. Hope your visit goes well.

mlic you all relaxed following reflexology? Hope it does the trick

Lovely news bout scan memphis ds's loved ours too makes it more real to them. She'l be so excited bout being an aunt.

Thanks everyone, hospital has air con on so quite good at the mo. Have my own room so kind of good but could get boring lol. Just watching tv and waiting for doc as was meant to get steroid at ten, should i say to the nurse? X

Gracie123 · 30/06/2010 22:50

I'm trying to avoid the steroids (needle phobia) which is partly why I'm being so good about the bedrest hoping to keep LO in until we move house, which would make me 38 wks anyway.

I'm super jealous of people who already have theirs though. Can't wait to get section over with and start recovering so I can join a gym. Feel like a beached whale right now, which is annoying because I sort of kept my figure with DS.

I'm also very jealous of people having reflexology there are no good practitioners near me and I can't drive, so all I get is a five minute foot rub from DH who then goes 'is that enough now?' like he's been doing it for hours!

stac14 · 01/07/2010 00:46

I'll be 38+4 when i get sectioned gracie and they still insisted them huni, just want to pre-warn. But as we know different areas do it differently. If i had been able to wait till 39wks like jo i would have been able to avoid them. I agree regarding being jealous bout people having their lo's already but as mw said tonight not long till we want a rest lol. Well im off to bed, backs still aching x

memphis83 · 01/07/2010 05:09

gracie sounds so painful for you, ds sounds very good for his age, sounds like he gets some great experiences going to work with his daddy! lol at dh giving you a foot rub for 2 mins then acting like hes been at it for ours, i get the same with my back, he presses it like he is changing channel on tv!!
stac your right about my sis being excited about being an aunt, she apparently put on calender saw baby today when she got home! did you get your 1st injection before you got to bed? good job youve got air con!
i slept for 2 hours so been up since 1!! so warm and feeling sick, lower bump feels like ive been kicked really hard like a throbbing bruised feeling? poor dh is having a hard week at work think they are diving hit hard going jobs before paternity so hes gone work still exhausted, hes 3 hours away today and im 2 hours the opposite way from hospital 2, but im at least with my mum!
hope you all have a good day, wonder if their will be any babies today?

stac14 · 01/07/2010 06:00

Plenty of babies being born here just not mine memphis. It has been very night. Got jab at 12ish and couldnt sleep then was just about to sleep when i was awoken for a blood sugar test. Backache remains. Have to see how things go. I am away to try for a sleep before breakfast . Soz for rant i'd be better home x x

viksam · 01/07/2010 08:21

stac hope u got some prebreakfast shut eye. What are u talking on, ur mobile? Are u alowed lap tops or DS's or anything like that? Whats the food like? Are u going home today?
Ahhh gracie ds sounds so sweet, what a good boy.
memphis isnt it lovely that other people are just as excited as we are.
My sister is also excited but in a different way, she is very dominating. She came to visit about 6 weeks ago and she was asking 'have u found any groups to go to yet' and 'what are u going to do about such and such' etc etc. Just questions that i do need to address but havent got round to, so all i get is raised eyebrows and a look as if to say, goodness i would have done all of that already! She is coming down again next Tuesday and im not sure im looking forward to it tbh. She brought me a plant last time she came and i have watered it etc but its died, i told her on the phone yesterday and it was like i had done it on purpose just to pee her off, she takes everything soooo personally and its just tiring.
Anyhow, thats my rant over.
I have a really itchy right palm, im hoping its just an itchy palm and nothing else.
Right, better check the house is ok for HV.
Hope everyone is ok.
xx

stac14 · 01/07/2010 08:23

sorry for the rant earlier ladies i am just a grumpy ass! Had some brekki so goin to read my book try to go for a wee sleep before i'm poked and prodded again lol. What you all up to today?

memphis its a nightmare when you dont sleep. Your poor dh must be fed up with work. I know my dp is the same. My sis was her age when ds was born and she adored pushing pram an trying to help out. Our boys just want lo out. You going out with your mum today? X
