Morning everyone. Just a quick update to say I think things may be starting here. I woke up at 3.30 with period pains and then went to the loo, had a show and some, ahem, bowel clearance. The pains were fairly mild and constant but are now getting stronger and more rhythmic although still about ten minutes apart. Hopefully it's not a false alarm. I'm getting my stopwatch now so that I can time the pains properly as I am guessing at the moment.

Meanwhile, for what it's worth, I did loads of vigorous bouncing on my fit ball yesterday while watching TV, had (very unvigorous!) sex Wednesday night and went for a long walk yesterday. Not sure if any of that helped but am passing on the info anyway.

Hope the rest of the people in the waiting room see some action soon.

Morning,

Well the (extremely spicy) curry, pineapple and clary sage massage have done bugger all!!!
Slept reasonable well tho
Not even a BH or period type pain this morning- think i'm starting to put too much pressure on myself and need to relax, if i have to go in for induction on sunday then everything happens for a reason, right? Although its only 7 days over i'm not going to argue as by my dates that would make me 12 days over and given i went to australia without DH the day after LO was conceived i'm inclined to trust my dates more than the scan. Either way- must relax and stop over analysing everything my body does!

Off to Drs this morning to check urine and BP and if all is ok i'm going to go to aqua natal.

Deelite hope this is it for you good luck

Can't remember who asked but DH off until 8th August, so just under 4 weeks will be lovely, and even nicer to have our little baby with us

Hi all,

Last night Dylan was doing funny panting noises and DP wants to know if this is normal? He only did it about 3 or 4 times and hasnt since but its one of those things you worry over, prob unecessarily!

Thanks

memphis83 · 16/07/2010 10:48

deelite hope this is it keep us all posted!!! got my fingers and toes crossed!!
dh could it be trapped wind?? Lyndon looks scared and pants a little when he still has a bit?
ladies trying everything the 1st day i didnt try to bring baby on contractions started!! think i put too much pressure on myself!
midwife coming to weigh Lyndon today, i wonder if hes put any on, i know they usually lose in 1st week but he is taking 3-4oz every 4 hours!
gave him his 1st bath today as he hates being top and tailed and he loved it, looked very relaxed and been napping since!
i fear i will become one of those mums who talk about nothing but baby, i cant stop looking at him!!

wonderstuff · 16/07/2010 11:01

Morning all - having a little beebies/coffee time. I am so tired, slept well, but no energy. Having constant bh but no sign of this baby coming anytime soon, know I should relax and it'll happen in its own sweet time, but so impatient to meet him.

Just ordered dd's birthday pressie - not til Nov. but Early Learning Centre are having quite a good sale - got half price big set of Happyland. Going to start thinking about Christmas, because will have no money by then!
Everyone else having weird weather - huge downpour then sunshine, then rain etc. What happened to all that lovely sun?

Good luck deelite v.exciting
dh dont' know about panting noises, sorry. DD used to hold her breath and go red - used to scare the bejesus out of me!

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/07/2010 11:01

memphis yeah it could well be. I try to burp him after a feed for ages but he just doesnt burp then it comes out the other end! It doesnt seem to bother him though lol.

Good luck deelite, hope this is it for you!

I am debating doing some washing but the forecast is a bit mixed - might leave it until Sunday which is supposed to be nice. The only problem is I have so few tops that fit me, I'm kind of running out!

MyLife thats ace advice for us that havent hatched yet, and ur boy sounds bonny and lovely.
memphis ahhhhhhhh lyndon sounds like a hungry boy!!
emster i know what u mean my rotation of clothes has to be carefully planned as i only have one pair of trousers and one pair of leggins that fit and about 4 tops half of which dont go with the bottoms!! tricky!
Guys that have had their babies, whats the thing you used the most in hospital or was there anything u needed that you didnt take?
I hope ladies that have had their babies arnt avoiding talking to each other on here due to us bringing up the rear?!?
deelite hope ur ok and things have started with u!!

Nothing doing this end, i felt exhausted this morning, seriously low in energy. I had another lie down on the sofa and a nice long shower and feel a bit better now. Going to the cinema and for some nice tea somewhere later so that should be nice.

viksam · 16/07/2010 15:10

TSC cross posted i think.
Its pants waiting isnt it!! Whens ur due date?

stac14 · 16/07/2010 16:45

hey ladies, sorry i havent been in touch been trying to get rileigh sorted. She is a great baby but the wee soul suffered badly with wind. We had to change from the tomy tippee bottles (which my mw hates, says they are notorious for causing for wind) we bought dr browns bottles, also had to change her frormula from sma to aptimal so this seems to be working.

Ladies its so frustrating waiting especially in this weather. Fingers crossed we have another baby on here soon x

Afternoon all. I have backache today - don't think it particularly means anything though. I think I slept awkwardly on it. When DH comes home I might ask him for a back massage, and might have a little glass of wine tonight as well.

grumpypumpkin · 16/07/2010 17:27

Wot no babies? Deelite you had better pop one out today or it will be a complete no action day

Yes Viks I am curious to know from the experts what was really useful in hospital, what not to bother taking and what you wished you had taken too.

Have been to midwife today and booked some sweeps for next week, hopefully will be able to cancel them though!

memphis83 · 16/07/2010 17:49

stac poor you hope the change sorts her wind out, Lyndonhad bad wind in the hospital and that was on sma, so i put him on hipp organic as it sorted a few of my friends colicy babies out and its sorted him out a treat!
viksam he is very hungry baby think he is going to be a chubbly little thing!! he totally finished his bottle earlier by the time i put it down he was trying to latch on through my jumper!!
on the question of what i didnt use in hospital i used hardly anything, nighty slippers dressing gown, snacks, nice lotions and luxuries didnt get used at all, i was starving had lots of lovely fruit, nibbles itc and couldnt have it, as i had epidural i said oooh i cant wait to be able to relax and eat like posh spice would, then they said oh no, no eating after epidural in case you need to go to theater fine for most but i had another 24 hours after that!!!

sending positive birth vibes to ladies still waiting!!! xxx

stac14 · 16/07/2010 18:58

viksam i didnt use lots of stuff too. Our hospital provided nappies so didnt use them or my maternity and breast pads. No breast pads as i didnt leak and still haven't or maternity pad as they were also provided. I took straighteners, magazines and the ds and never used any of it. We had a tv/phone at the bed so i used them (calls were free) like memphis i had lovely fruit etc and nothing got used.

memphis she was great last night as we had changed the bottles and the milk was changed today and she seems more content. How have you been? X

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 16/07/2010 19:38

Been awol from this thread for a very, very long time, but thought I should at least inform you of the birth of my 5lb 10oz little girl, a month early, on June 24. Best wishes to all

Chulita · 16/07/2010 20:00

Congratulations curlycasper

I've grown out of my tops too, so I sympathise with emster and viksam. Only my 3 Blooming Marvellous ones are long enough now.

memphis that's a loooong time to go without eating! How are you supposed to have the energy to do anything? They didn't stop me from eating after the epidural with DD but maybe that's cos it didn't work... who knows but I must have had a belly full of fruit salad when I had my emcs!

tsc you'll get there, funny how a week feels like a month once we get to this stage!

I'm getting horrible spd pains now, burning pelvic bone pain when I walk, especially after I've been lying down for a while. Rolling over hurts, I had to jog after DD this morning and it was agony. I remember I went for a little run 3 days before DD's due date, this time I can't even stand up without hurting...rubbish! Roll on the end of the month when I'll have had this LO.
