well i thought i would give you all an update, still only getting pains every 6 minutes but they are now very strong! got up at 4 had a bounce on my ball, went for a lay down but lying down pain is going into my hips (i have a problem with bones in hip) so sitting on ball again now have a feeling this is going to be a very long process!
called hospital to book in to say im getting pains every 6 mins and they said they had shut door on admissions due to under staffing and lots of labouring ladies and to call other hospital across town! so if i can manage til handover at 8 admissions should be re opened! which is now looking realistic! if things dont get moving its going to be monday i reckon!!!

Wonderstuff · 11/07/2010 05:45

Morning all - exciting times, good luck memphis after your week if you don't have a fantastic labour there is no justice.
Congratulations dh

Well I let dh go out last night in return for a lie-in this morning - so of course I'm wide awake at 5am - on a Sunday too, just not right. Had a few twinges last night, period type pain, but has come to nothing, even BH have died down which is nice. I just ache all the time.

Was at my mums yesterday, with my db and niece and nephew, it was mums birthday, but for some reason seemed to be all about the kids, with party games for them and then mum babysitting whilst db, who only has his children on alternate weekends anyway went out with his mates? Dm and db seem to have a relationship where he doesn't grow up and she indulges his every whim - stresses me out, but seems little I can do about it. I feel sorry for my step father.

Now a week away from due day, which I thought might be about the time to have the baby, as dd was 3 days early and second labours are often a bit earlier than first ones? but of course a couple of people have been telling me that they had a really really late babies after an early first, so who knows. Cloth Kitty that I'm sewing for dd should be ready, albeit with no clothes yet by the end of tomorrow, so the whole if I get started on a mat leave project I'll go into labour before it's finished theory will be tested over the next 48 hours. Anyway I'm rambleing on..

Hope everyone has a good Sunday - we are food shopping followed by going to see footie at a friends house.

Wonderstuff · 11/07/2010 05:47

Oh memphis how exciting and frustrating at the same time - what a nightmare on admissions though - have you phoned the other hospital? 6 mins fairly close and still a coupld of hours to go until 8am.

memphis83 · 11/07/2010 06:11

wonder i havent bothered phoning them, really dont want to end up there if i can help it, they wont let me stay at hospital until the pains are 3 mins apart, ive got the number by phone just in case and that is the further hospital from me but its still only 20 mins away. thank goodness after rubbish few days i managed to get sleep, just waking every now and then with pain!
i have a friend like your brother onlt sees his ds every other week even though they only live 10 min walk from each other and then he will still go footy practice and pub while his mum has him, been in pub with him in past and his ex has walked in and hes bailed out the window! i think its a son thing!

Chulita · 11/07/2010 08:05

memphis hope you can hold on til 8! Good luck
orangefizz hope everything's well with you.
welcome home stac

I was up til 0330 this morning with stupid freaking BH again. I had them all day yesterday and then about every 20 mins last night. I did sleep from half 3 til 7 but that's hardly record-breaking. This is never-ending and I've still got 10 days til d-day. I am not a happy bunny today...

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 11/07/2010 08:38

aw memphis poor you but at least you've been able to get some sleep.hopefully you're much further on and they're able to take you at your hospital! good luck anyway!
chulita they are such a bloody annoyance aren't they? i'm STILL getting them.2 and half days solid now and im totally and utterly fed up at this stage. how much practice does my body need?!
wonder mums and they're sons eh! my mum is exactly the same with my brother.he lives at home, doesnt do a tap, doesnt pay a penny, wants the best of everything and gets it and she wonders then why he's such a lazy git! i certainly never got that treatment! and he's 22 so plenty old enough to get his own place!what a pain in the bum to be awake that early when you should be getting a lie on! always happens like that!
still no further on here today anyway. its knind of daunting me the thoughts of induction tuesday night but looks like thats the way its going. i've really made life waaaaay to good and comfy for this baba before its even born!ha!

Happy birthday MLIC hope you have a great day and get loads of cuddles from your LO

Its Happy Due Date to me

The BHs stepped up a mark last night but nothing again now! I wonder if its the baby pushing its bum out against me that starts them off?

memphis i hope by now you are in your own hospital having a wonderful labour experience- either that or already holding your little bundle

KK is it this tuesday you go in for induction? how many days over will that make you? It does seem quite daunting but at least you now know you will not be pregnant forever!!!
I should get a date on monday when i go back in for BP and urine tests. They seemed to suggest that if BP was still high they would just induce me without waiting? we'll see!

Just got my first phone call to see if anything is happening! Wonder how many i'll get today- yesterday it would have irritated and upset me but today i'm happy and excited to talk about it all- its amazing how your mood can change over night!

wonder glad you have the doll underway! Fingers crossed your theory is right

Aw chulita hope you manage to cheer up today- lack of sleep does not help! Does your MW know how much the BHs are affecting you? Just wondered if they could suggest anything to calm them down?

Wonderstuff · 11/07/2010 10:01

Happy 30th MLIC

kk my mum went into labour the day before induction with both me and my brother, you never know, still a few hours left!

Went back to bed at 6 and slept until 9 - bizarre my body clock atm. More BH this morning - whoo hoo.

What to eat this week?

viksam · 11/07/2010 10:21

OOOOoooooohhhhhhhhhhh Mylife Very happy birthday!!!!!!!!!what u doing? hope you have something lovely planned!?!

I have to confess, i have been desperatly trying to catch up with this thread but i have given up, every time i jump on there is pages and pages to catch up on and im never going to get a chance to post again so I do apologise if i have missed any important stuff!
I have had visitore EVERY day since last friday. I had my friend up till monday which was lovely and we had a great time. Then Mom and Dad came down for two nights thay went home on friday, which was also lovely but as i have mentioned before thay are hard work now. Dad put my pics up in the babys room though so i was gratefull for that. I was very emotional whan they went, the next time i will see them I will be a moma, really strange thought. Then DH's Mom and husband and neice came yesterday, they brought with them a massive box full of Johnsons stuff/clothes and 294 Pampers nappies!!!!!I wasnt expecting that at all, i was amazed, thats very generous of them.
So thats whats kept me away for ages although its not for lack of trying. My DH has finished work for 5 weeks now apart from a few meetings etc, so im really looking forward to spending a few days of quality time with him.
We have to gut and clean my car today though as we have found someone who wants to do a car swap, with a bit of money involved. Im actually really looking forward to seeing this car tomorrow, its a pergeot 306 estate and i have a 3 door audi so this car will be much bigger and its newer etc, i just hope i like how it drives etc.
My due date is Thursday so i have 4 days and I have had about two of what I can only think are BH, and they were some days ago, I can imagine it must be doing ur heads in having them all the time and I wouldnt like that but at least ur bodies have had the practice, im worried that mine has no idea what to do and just wont do anything!! I hate this not knowing, the anticipation is killing me!!

Wonder I know exactly what you mean about ur DB and your DM its exactly the same in my family, its annoying coz i can see DM putting her self out to look after his kids etc and I feel a bit sorry for my Dad as he wasts to go out and enjoy their retirement but are constrained due to child care, glad im far away enough not to impose that much......or at all really.

Thats quite enough from me for now, hope everyone has a good sunday xxx

viksam · 11/07/2010 11:02

OMG I have just sat here and speed read the thread i missed, didnt think id have the time, i cant believe i missed three babies coming into the world!! Congrats to you all, i hope life with ur babies is settling down. I think its ace that we are posting our birth stories, the more detail the better in my opinion to know what to expect/look out for/ask for etc. MIL said some shitty things yesterday, i know its the truth but you dont need to hear'you'll be in the worst pain u have ever known' and 'ohhh its awfull, im not going to lie' Cheers then, kwim!
DH is out side cleaning my car and i dont feel bad at all, i do EVERYTHING else so im going to leave him to it! I will go do the inside as best as i can later on.

Emster30 · 11/07/2010 11:06

It's great that everyone has been having relatively fast and straightforward births, but like others, I'm afraid I'm going to be the exception! WE shall see...

38 weeks today.

Hi everyone
Haven't been on in about a week and I've missed so much. Congratulations to all of the new mummies - it's great to see so many babies arriving! And good luck to all of you lovely mums-to-be too. Your babies will be here in no time!

We're all doing really well although I am suffering a bit with sore nipples. Iris likes to nibble my nipples instead of feeding sometimes and I'm seriously thinking about buying her a dummy tit today to let my nipples have a break but there's so much conflicting advice online about giving a breastfed baby a dummy tit at this early age. Anyone got any experience or opinions about this? I'd welcome some insight!

Stac I'm so pleased that your C-section went well. And I love your name - v cool! What painkillers are you on? I'm on Diclofenac three times a day, Co-codomal twice a day and paracetamol when pain isn't too bad. Seems like a lot so I've been trying to take less every day...

beckyg123 · 11/07/2010 12:40

wow viksam sounds like you've been having a busy time! bet you'll be glad to relax and have some time to yourself! Hope the car swap goes well

TSC ouch at the sore hips! i can't get myself back up from the ground now! sounds like you had a good day tho Hope the midwife helps you out with what you want, must be frustrating for you when you were led to believe something so different!

violet good to hear from you! can't stomach the pizza idea but had all the ingredients seperately- nothing tho! I have absolutely no advice on the dummy/nipple problem- have you posted on the breastfeeding page? i've had a few looks recently and there seems to be lots of great chat!

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/07/2010 12:43

Can someone update the list, Ive completely lost track of who has had babies since me!

Congrats to you all though and those still waiting I think it'll happen soon there is something in the air!

memphis83 · 11/07/2010 14:05

viksam oooh a new motor! brave driving an estate though dh wans me to have one but i struggle with anything bigger than my fiesta!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY mlic hope you have a lovely day in the sunshine!
becky happy due date becky!!

well i rang delivery suite, it had re opened! and they said as contractions are very intense but not getting closer together to go in to check baby, trace came back good, contraction line stayed on 2!! i got upset thinking they must be in my head, i moved during a pain and realised wire was caught up under pad and it shot up to 88!! crept higher and higher but no closer, so theyve sent me home, walked around tesco and had a few belters clinging onto dh!! they said i could go on for days like this without them getting closer!

Wonderstuff · 11/07/2010 14:50

Oh memphis hope things start to progress for you soon.

I didn't eat enough this morning and nearly passed out in Asda - stressed dh out completely, I felt just so awful. Thankfully feeling better since stopping for lunch. Got BBQ this afternoon at friends house and going to watch the footie there, I sound like a broken record but I am really ready for this baby now.

Thanks becky thats much easier! Oh I didnt realise I was the last one, thought someone went into labour after me.

Just had the mw here to check me and baby over, my stitches look fine apparently lol, they feel very sore though so going to have a bath later with some tea tree oil in.

Hope all is well with everyone else, my flat looks like a bomb has hit it, babies have ALOT of stuff haha.

memphis I hope things speed up for you. It's no joke when proper contractions drag on for days. Make sure you get some rest if you can!

dh my dad always says that the smaller the baby the bigger the stuff it needs!

OP posts:
beckyg123 · 11/07/2010 16:02

Lol DH was thinking we need to get the wardrobe cleared out for LOs stuff when it all starts appearing! You seem to be last one to report a birth, your right tho- there have been a few labour whispers since! Glad you're healing well- hope the bath soothes things

Memphis i can't believe they sent you home! after all that! really got my fingers crossed for you that things speed up from now- how frustrating and exhausting!

viksam · 11/07/2010 16:07

memphis I just hope i can drive it ok, im sure it will be fine, it kind of has to be really as its the ideal car for us really and much cheaper to tax and insure and run than the Audi but I will be so sad to see that car go, I have had it for years and cut my teeth in it so to speak!

wonder Im finding i have to eat regularly now and all i seem to want is sweet stuff but the MW found glucose in my wee the other day so need to lay off the swet stuff. Does anyone still watch what they eat re soft cheese etc, im dying for a brie and bacon sandwich!!

TSC what do u think about mixed feeding, u sound like ur knowledgable about these things. I would like to BF but dont want to be trapped and also think its good for DH to help bond with the baby to express and bottle feed as well. Whats anyones take on this?

Jojobil · 11/07/2010 16:16

Memphis all the best to you! I hope things progress!

Who was talking about SA and crazy MIL? Was it you Gracie? I think this is unacceptable behaviour! You are about to have a baby. There is nothing more important then this and you need your DH with you. If you don't have the support it will impact on baby and you. Don't feel bad about keeping him, not letting him go etc... It is his family that are being unreasonable!

Congrats to all of you who had LO's!!!

Violet I've been on Ibuprofen and Paracetamol and the first few days took Codeine. But now 1 ibuprofen and two paracetamol - twice a day does the trick;)
