thislittlesisterlola · 11/07/2010 18:14

P.s stac i remember you from the clomid thread- i was paddington21. Congratulations to everyone with new arrivals. Am in a day 3 post birth haze.

orangefizz · 11/07/2010 18:16

Hello all, just to let you know that Samuel Edward arrived last night at 11.35pm 8lb 10oz all happy and healthy and gorgeous! It was a great birth experience, will fill you in when i'm a little less tired, but we're back home since this morning so all good!

Good luck to those of you still waiting, it really is worth it!

Chulita · 11/07/2010 18:47

congratulations orangefizz, good weight too

viks I expressed with DD and gave her a bottle every now and then. Meant that DH and I could have a night away when she was 5 months old (although I was up 4 times expressing...) DH also liked being able to feed her. We introduced a bottle at around 10 days old.

violet DD was a very sucky baby and it did cause us issues with thrush/mastitis. I agree with tsc on getting the latch checked, I never did and I think that was part of the problem. Tbh though, newborns on the whole want to suckle a lot but it is a stage they get through eventually!

Hey ladies

Firstly congratulations orange we all seem to be big babies lol

becky I had great treament from the PRM, they were attentive to me and the baby. I know its busy but as I've been told everyone seems to be having July babies, this however didnt stop them providing us both with decent care.

violet I got sent home with paracetamol, not even touching the sides of the pain. I have irratable bowels syndrome so I could have the voldermol due to the ibruprofen. Luckliy the mw prescribed co-codomol but I got out the bath last night and hurted my pelvis so I think a call to the gp tomorrow may be in order lol. Glad you like our name, thats the one that was slated on here before I had her and yet everyone seems to love it How are you and lo settling down? We are getting there and totally loving the process

hiya thislittle did I know you were pg? Congratulations, what did you have? We are just going to keep gabbing through all the new arrivals until we have all had out babies then become an antenatal thread, hopw you stay and join us

memphis you poor thing, they could have gave you a drip to speed things up instead of sending you home. At least you know its underway

dh buy a swimming ring for under your bum, it stops you putting pressure on your bum and fanjo, I never went anywhere without mine

kk I am trying to rest as much as possible and I felt I could do that better being at home because I have ds and dp here to help me, whereas in hospital after dp went home I had to do it all myself

jojo not heard anything from anifers at all, hope shes ok

viksam lucky you with the new car. Is that the house the way you want it?

I have such nappy brain, I manages to read through and have forgot half the stuff I was going to ask or say . Hope everyones well xxx

beckyg123 · 11/07/2010 18:58

Hi thislittlesisterlola sorry you missed us during antenatal! I really don't know if there is a july postnatal thread- the new mummys have been posting on here, sorry not much help from me!
Hope you had a good pregnancy and are enjoying having your little bundle in your arms

kkfairybrains · 11/07/2010 19:43

happy birthday mlic and happy due date becky!
congrats orange! we've 6 boys and 6 girls now!
beckyyeah its this tues eve i'm being brought in.
am really fed up today and so is dp.neither of us is even excited anymore and it feels horrible saying that. but thats just the way we feel. these BH wil be the ruin of me yet.feel like im actually gonna crack up.had a good cry to myself today.sorry to be a whinge again!just cant snap out of it
memphis i've everything crossed for you that it doesnt go on for too long.xx

viksam · 11/07/2010 20:21

Welcome lola hope everythings alright for u.

stac I like ur name too and remember them being mean about it, horrid people!! So whats it really like now u are home. I so dont know what to expect or wether to let people come down or not, its such an unknown thing isnt it.
The house is looking ace now and mostly finished really, is all ur decorating finished?

i have been feeling low this afternoon, i cried my eyes out at the film 'Andre'whilst folding the clothes i had washed that MIL brought, these mood swings are hard for us to comprehend let alone DH, he has been cleaning and polishing my car all day ready for the potential swap tomorrow so thats kept him nice and busy.
I just feel like i want to go to bed now but know it would be a mistake as i wont sleep! Oh Huff!!

beckyg123 · 11/07/2010 20:28

Just sitting with an alcohol free Kopperburg and it is delicious! We are watching the football and DH has one eye on me and one eye on the TV as he has been convinced for months that i would start during the final!
Nothing as much as a twinge tho!!! off to have some half time snacks... mmm... won't be able to indulge like this for a long time soon

kk and viksam sounds like you are both on downers today... the hormones are crazy!
kk really hope things go naturally for you over next 48 hours, you sound extremely fed up

stac thanks for that! makes me feel loads better How is Rileigh settling in at home? Has your DS taken well to her?

Gracie123 · 11/07/2010 20:56

Mmmmm... Koppaberg is yummy!!

Yes jojo it was me talking about MiL. She's coming up tomorrow to stay one night, so I expect the pressure will be put on. [nervous emoticon]

Out of interest, those having really uncomfortable BH in the night, might be worth getting a swab done. I went to hospital yesterday to get a check that my waters hadn't broke, and swab said I had an infection. They gave me antibiotics and a pessary and last night was the first night for weeks I haven't woken with BH!

MW reckons even something as simple as thrush can set them off, so well worth getting checked if they are driving you mad.

congratulations firerise, DH,orangefizz

Happy birthday MyLifeIsChaotic, have you had a nice day?

memphis83-sounds like things are happening for you, hope it doesnt drag on too long for you, good luck x

violetbubbles-The question about dummies and bf babies-I used one with ds2, but only eally used it when he had been continually feeding for hours then falling asleep then waking up when I unlatched him. I figured that hed had a good feed and was therefor using my nipples as comfort rather than food. It seemed to work well and he only took a dummy for a few months before he started spitting it out. hth

cleaned carpets etc yesterday, overdid it big time and woke up to v v sore pelvis/hips etc this morning took some painkillers which helped a bit.

Got dp to give me a VE last night, from what he described he felt cervix is about 80% effaced with a multips os, but the cerivx is still quite high. Got him to try sweeping the membranes, after which I had cramps all evening but nothing has come of them. Im worried that the MW wont be able to do s+s on wednesday unless my cervix gets lower, dp could only just reach and shes very petite with small hands and fingers so Im hoping it'll move.

Have had cramps everytime Ive taken a few steps today, so hoepfully things are going in the right direction! dont want to go into labour tonight though as we have ds1 CAMHS appointment tommorrow at 9.30am and really need to go after wating over two yrs to get an appointment.

ds1 being extremely hard work since thursday so am extremely concerned as to how he'll be if baby arrives in the next few days. we shall see I guess.

temperature has dropped somewhat here, its much more comfortable and is set to drop some more over the next few days. hope its not too hot for everyone else.

due date tommorrow!

GlastonburyGoddess · 11/07/2010 21:34

sorry about my terrible spelling today

stac14 · 11/07/2010 22:17

kk i felt like that with ds, as you get to the stage were you feel you can't handle pregnancy anymore. I know its hard but try to focus on your little bundle of joy.

mlic sorry hun i forgot to say happy birthday. I had a fab 30th last year and my 31st is next month so i'm havin cocktails. What did you get up to? Did you get nice pressies?

viksam all the decorating done and was before lo arrived. All i can say about coming home is that your generally inundated with visitors. We decided to bar visitors for the past couple of days as we wanted lo to settle in. Visits commence tomorrow. When you get home, it feels strange as your totally responsible for lo and it can be scary, anxious time but also the best feeling too. Trust your instincts hun.

becky ds adores her, wants to do loads to help. Riliegh's doing great, just getting into a routine. Its amazing how quickly it all comes to you. Was your dh happy with the score?

gracie i know its none of my business but surely dh should be standing up to mil regarding the situation. You could be doing without the stress. Let us know how you get on tomorrow and be honest with her, she is the selfish one luv. X

CherryPie3 · 11/07/2010 22:17

quick gate-crashing post for Spirael

*CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I beat you tho . Our little boy Corey Owen also arrived early just 5 days before your little Mindy on 2nd July and weighed 8lbs 4oz - even our lo's are similar

Such a beautiful name for your little girl - well done, sounds like a lovely positive experience

xxxx

stac14 · 11/07/2010 22:21

good luck tomorrow glaston let us know how you get on x

Wonderstuff · 11/07/2010 23:12

kk I can understand you being fed up - I'm a week before my due date and feeling enough is enough, going over is hard.

glason hope that CAHMS appt is helpful tomorrow.

gracie good luck with mil tomorrow.

I really thought today might be the day - but no, BH are quite intense but not painful, then I think 'oh wait a minute I do ache' but then realise that it is the position I'm sitting in and actually I am aching a lot of the time.

Is a lovely evening here tonight - I do feel glad to be having a baby during such a lovely time of year - will be fab for birthday parties. Seems to be shaping up to be a fabulous summer this year, everyone still at work is very jealous.

kkfairybrains · 12/07/2010 05:38

mlic you sound so content and your lovely post really brought a smile to my face!hope im that blissed out!
stac good on you for saying no to visitors until you feel ready.are you saying they can come at a certain time or just anytime?
wonder really hope you dont go over if your this fed up already.
weeeeeeeeelllll..............dont want to speak to soon but i think im in labour.
woke up with tightenings and severe pains that are definately way sorer than the BH.stil trying to not get my hopes up though.couldn't stay in bed as i just couldnt relax.afraid to start timing them cos they'll prob just disappear! so having a bounce on my ball here.the pains def stop me in what im doing but id say they're going to get a lot worse!YAY!!!!!!!!! have left dp asleep but contemplating waking him up to come for a walk with me . might just leave it a little while longer just to be sure because he has to be up for work if its not it. fingers crossed this is it

thislittlesisterlola · 12/07/2010 07:03

hi all i hope you dont mind if i stay. I will try and catch up as best i can. I had my first born after 4 days of labour on his due date last Thursday . He is called Rupert. Am totally overwhelmed tbh but things are starting to ease. Still feel quite crappy from all the drugs in hopst. and stitches. stac i dont think you did- we must have got pg about the same time hope everyone is doing well. Fingers crossed for those overdue something might happen soon

DeeLite · 12/07/2010 07:08

Hurrah for KKfairybrains. That sounds very positive. Hope you got a good few hours' sleep in before the pain started. Best of luck with everything.

Happy due date to me and Glasto. I had some cramps in my tummy yesterday evening which I got a bit excited about but, on reflection, they were probably more to do with the HUGE dinner I had just polished off.

I was determined not to get too hung up about my due date but inevitably I'm disappointed that nothing's happening. I finished reading my birth skills book yesterday and bought the finally bits for LO and the weather has broken so it seems like perfect timing for LO to arrive but I suppose I'm kidding myself if I think it's going to hang about waiting until the optimum time for me. That's not really the way that babies roll

Meanwhile, congrats Orangefizz and CherryPie3. Can't wait to hear the birth stories.

DeeLite · 12/07/2010 07:10

Congratulations to you too, thislittlesisterlola. Rupert is a very sweet name. Sounds like you had a bit of a marathon labour. Hope things settle down for you very soon.

Chulita · 12/07/2010 08:05

Come on kkfairybrains, hope this is it for you

thislittlesisterlola don't worry if you can't catch up, we're a chatty lot! I hope everything settles down for you and you get used to your LO quickly.

Happy due date deelite and glastonburyG!

Gracie123 · 12/07/2010 08:06

stac dh does stand up to his family (now - didn't used to) but all that's done is meant that we are all polite in front of him and as soon as he leaves the room comments start.

It's not that big a deal. They can't make him go. I'm just a bit sad because we'd been getting on quite well recently (comments about me not going had finally subsided!) and I suspect this will kick it all off again.

But like I said, they are going to be away for six weeks, and I can always not answer the phone to numbers that start +27!

So jealous of people going into labour any day now. I really want our LO, but am aware that it would be silly before we move

Still - moving in 3 days!!!

Wonderstuff · 12/07/2010 08:31

Gracie sounds like you're in for a hectic week - hope it isn't too stressful, I suppose at least with them all away you'll have some peace when the baby arrives.

kk sounds very promising - good luck honey

Welcome to the board tlsl Rupert is a fab name - you must be shattered after such a long labour!

dh said as he left this morning he wanted me to call him later and tell him this baby was coming out! Don't think its going to happen today - I did sleep really well last night, and I have a whole day to myself today with dd at nursery. I feel guilty being home alone, but know I should make the most of it because I'll not be getting many more days like this again. Got a hair appointment tomorrow - wonder if I'll make it?

Jobs for today - gotta tidy up, get hold of a Charlie and Lola book because dd has slept in her bed all night for 3 nights - should be one arriving from Amazon, but if it doesn't come I may have to go to town, iron tablets have really bunged me up (I know you girls are keen to know the workings of my digestive system) so need to get some fibre going on because it's makeing me feel rubbish.
