Jojobil · 05/07/2010 17:12

Congratulations Kapars!!!!

Wonderstuff · 05/07/2010 17:12

I have just received delivery of an asleep 2 year old - she won't be woken, why won't she sleep at suitable times?? Going to be up late now, and have the same tomorrow. DH has decided to go out tonight - because that seems to be his response to tiredness - go out . He also seems to think that he won't be able to go out when the baby arrives, not sure why he has this in his head but ho hum. Have done so little today - postman didn't come at all so have to wait until at least tomorrow for my sewing project. Another thing to wait for!

chulita sorry you're having a rubbish day - hope you get an early night, sounds like you could do with it.

Emster30 · 05/07/2010 17:27

Congratulations kapars!

kapers congratulations to you!!! lovely pretty name for your little girl! was wondering if you were ok?
dh in our area they wont sweep you til 41 weeks and they wont normally do it withiout warning before the app as ours wont let you drive after!
looks like its been busy on here today so tired only just got in i lok after my nan on monday mornings she has dementia normally she sleeps whole time im there but today she woke up and attacked carer, she is so strong i had to restrain her normally not a problem but today with a due bump it was hard, she get out my grasp and punched me in the face and arms! my mum came back and had to pull her off us, very traumatic been an emotional wreck all day, wont be able to look after her now til after ive had baby!
only just realised all ive eathen today is a teacake so dh is making roast chicken and roast potatoes that should cheer me up!! sorry for self indulgent moany post got home and with dh's gran ill dont really want to moan to him!

memphis83 · 05/07/2010 17:46

mlic i have been getting them a lot too, ive already unplugged our house phone, i had 5 calls yesterday and 3 texts have you had that baby yet??? grrr it will only get worse as days pass i suppose!

kapars · 05/07/2010 17:49

kfairy yes I didn't think she would ever come out - the midwife said this will take about one to two hours but it was 3 hrs 44 mins!!!!!
mlic Yes because my waters broke (hind waters only) with no contractions the policy at my hosptal is to induce within 48 hours because of risk of infection. This also meant Yasmin had to have antiobiotics and we had to stay in for a few days afterwards. So happy to be home with her although it was very useful staying in as we got lots of tips from midwife team on breastfeeding etc..

DeeLite · 05/07/2010 17:52

Congraulations Kapars. Yasmin is a beautiful name. That's great to hear such a positive induction story too.

Stac, I know exactly how you feel. I feel like I'm a bad mum already because I haven't had any nesting urge and the house is in worse repair for me being on maternity leave. I thought it would be glistening by now. Instead, it's just more worn and torn!

I also have loads of half-read baby books and am totally confused by all the conflicting advice about sleeping, feeding, controlled crying etc. It's so difficult to know what to do. Ah well, I'll have plenty of time for reading and thinking when stuck on my sofa breastfeeding for the next couple of months!

grumpypumpkin · 05/07/2010 18:12

Congrats Kapars, agree with Deelite its really good to hear a positive birth story where there has been an induction as thats something I am quite scared of too.

Hope some of the niggling little pains are the beginning of something for a few of you! C'mon babies lets be having you!!

orangefizz · 05/07/2010 18:30

Congratulations kapars I too am pleased to hear a positive induction story as that is something I really didn't want.

MLIC I know I am getting the same texts and calls from people asking if there is any news - like you'd forget to tell people when it happens!

Have been feeling really nauseous since last night and had some contractions in the night but nothing more, am hoping it is a precursor to labour, but have a sweep booked on wednesday if nothing else happens before.

Hope it happens soon for all of us waiting

beckyg123 · 05/07/2010 19:20

was going to say i've not had any of those calls/messages yet but just got 3 texts in the last hour! lol!

oh goodness i know, not due til sunday... will need to get some witty responses in my head- any ideas?

Wonderstuff · 05/07/2010 19:34

memphis how horrid for you - my great aunt had dementia, she would get really aggressive too, would try to bend your fingers back, pull hair, she landed the vicar a right hook when he visited and went to give her a kiss on the cheek. She was such a gentle person before she became ill. Good that your dh is looking after you tonight - absolutly right to end visits until after the babe arrives, need to look after yourself.

Dh got some vouchers from work because he perfomed the best last month - which is really sweet because everyone had a rubbish month and didn't hit target - he came home with yummy m&s tea, a sleeping bag for the baby and has saved some so I can get my hair cut - he is now doing bedtime with dd - he is so lovely sometimes (well most of the time)

My back is killing me, probably due to me sitting on my bum most of today - think I have thrush as well.

Fingers crossed for more babies by tomorrow - every night I think, maybe tomorrow will be the day my baby comes..

Chulita · 05/07/2010 20:08

I've not told anyone my due date - I just say end of July. I got irate with the questions last time so deliberately haven't told a soul. Mil keeps digging for it but I haven't given in

wonder I tell DH I'm going to go into labour every night lol - almost thought I was last night too!

hey ladies

mlic i totally agree you should do your own thing at first and get your bearings, for me its dp worrying bout what his mum and sis think so i told him she is our daughter and they can feck off. Soz to be blunt lol

deelite i havent nested at all, i did with ds but the house i lived in then i actually hated whereas this time it was more decorating. We must learn to be less hard on ourselves. Ignore the books hun you can trust your own advice

wonder thats so thoughtful of dh hun, hope you feel better soon

becky i've been getting the not long to go messages. How have you been? Wait till sunday you will be finding it a pain lol

Is that this wednesday orange? Hope it works for you hun

Most importantly kapars congratulations on the birth of your girl such a gorgeous name can't wait to see pics hun

How's everyone tonight? X

GlastonburyGoddess · 05/07/2010 21:51

stac14-Put it this way-they made my toes curl!!!

Chulita-have been with talktalk for over a year now, they have been £15 cheaper a month than when we were with bt and we have not had one problem with them, up till this past week when the broadband keeps cutting me off. seems to be ok tonight so far(fingers crossed) but if it continues wont be renewing contract when it expires!

kapars-congratulations and a lovely name!!

DH- I think they probably wont sweep you until your 40wks at least, they have to go by NICE guidlines. perhaps ask if you can see her as soon after 40wks as poss? Ive got my s+s booked for 14th july....heres hoping I wont need it!

still nothing happening here, baby so low today though, feels like its going to fall out(yeah right!) and lots of pressure in my bottom! have been up and about all day spraying myself with deep heat every so often for the backache and have had a clary sage bath, even managed to BD with dp with minimal pain so sat with a pillow bunder me for a while trying to keep the sperm on my cervix lol... please come soon baby!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/07/2010 22:05

Thanks to everyone re sweep advice, I didnt know they def didnt do one before 40 weeks. She might even bring it up at the next app but if she doesnt Ill say I want one as soon after 40 weeks as poss as Ill be climbing the walls by then!

Emster30 · 05/07/2010 22:43

Kapars I can't remember, were you at Whipps Cross?

You must be so glad to be home!

stac14 · 05/07/2010 23:21

oh glaston not looking forward to those pains on top of the c-section pain. Hope the painkillers are good. Fingers crossed all your efforts work for you

kkfairybrains · 05/07/2010 23:40

them after pains sound awful ladies.i heard they're worse if you breastfeed too.
no news here!just had clary sage bath and rubbed some on my belly but nothing happening! will be happy enough if i get good nights sleep though.
gone very quiet on the babies front! you might be next stac!
dying to see this new baby! dp's uncle was trying to send a picture but it wont come through.she had a section and they keep you in for 5 days here after a section so if i go in the next couple of days i'l have company in the hospital as we're in the same hospital!

Chulita · 06/07/2010 08:14

mlic have you had your baby yet?

I had after pains with DD that were pretty bad and she was my first so dreading what these will be like.

Last night was awful again, this time cos DD wouldn't sleep after 2am and I had to keep getting up with her. I tried to convince DH to take her to work with him today but strangely enough he didn't. Not looking forward to a whole day with her, good thing we've got Bosom Buddies this morning so I can let her run off some steam.

kkfairy how cool if you were both in at the same time!

stac I had codeine after DD and it was very good anti-pain - I stopped them cos she wasn't bfing very well but if you're bottle-feeding I'd recommend them! (they do constipate you though )

Morning all..

Sorry to hear so many of you are having pesky BH...I got so sick of those.

Hope you have a more relaxing day with dd, Chulita
Hope kk and Norky have had better nights... or babies!

Memphis I so remember the irritating phone calls etc. I went 10 days over with dd.....really sympathising with you there xx

Afterpains not too awful...I am breastfeeding and for the first few days, they were quite painful...but last a very short time. Were worse than with dd.

mlic Hope things improve for you....sending positive thoughts!

Congratulations to kapars lovely name and good birth story too.

For those whose first time it is, My first labour was much longer and baby in more difficult position so had epidural. Worked well and no problems, Would have had one again if needed, but I felt much better having been in control of it all this time (am control freak!!)

Good luck to you all....hope today brings more babies! At least it's a bit cooler....
