Hi all,
havent posted in a while, no reason for that really, nothing is happening with me.
Having BHs still but havent had a show or anything. Dont have a mw appointment til the 14th so its just the waiting game for me aswell I guess.

I was wondering earlier if anyone had heard from anifers recently?? I remember someone asking after her but nothing came of it. I hope she is ok.

GlastonburyGoddess · 04/07/2010 22:36

Grrr its taken me an hour and half to get online, bloody talktalk, will have to ring them tommorrow, its been doing this for days now, but tonight the worst

well thought things were happening for me last night, woke at 3.30 with lower ab pain, then needed to rush to the loo and have v loose bowels, then felt sick, retired back to bed thinking Id wake up with more pains later on...and nothing, highly dissapointing! I dont feel ill so no idea what that was all about!?

got consultant on wednesday(bmi) and a scan and also have to go to labour ward so they can check i can safely get in and out of the pool(spd)
going to get my car cleaned on thursday then picking up a industrial carpet cleaner friday to hire over the weekend-perhaps that'll get things moving

remember now with you talking about afterpains, they were really painful after ds2, especially when breastfeeding. will have to be quick off the mark to ask for painkillers!

night all x

Emster30 · 04/07/2010 22:42

Hi all, sorry to hear that so many people are fed up and uncomfortable! I am 37 weeks today so baby can come any time he/she wants now...

I wondered if the baby was coming on Friday night _ I was in bed and suddenly was really uncomfortable and had to get up and wander around. I thought it was indigestion at first - had had fish and chips for dinner - but it came on really suddenly and went away again about 20 minutes later just as quickly. It was horrid while it lasted though. DH had to rub my back while I groaned!

Have had a really busy weekend - singing in a concert yesterday with a rehearsal all afternoon, and my baby shower today. Tomorrow I will be putting my feet up until my first antenatal class in the evening.

stac14 · 04/07/2010 23:31

emster how was your baby shower? You've been busy think you need a day of rest hun.

dh its so frustrating waiting for lo. Will mw do a sweep on 14th if nothing has happened?

glaston are the after pains really bad? Maybe last night was a practice run.

Haven't saw anything from anifers for ages dh hope she's ok, think she had a lot on so may just have been busy x

Chulita · 05/07/2010 08:12

Morning all!

I had ctxs all night last night, kept me up - at one point I felt really nauseous but this morning I've just got a hard wriggling bump so nothing came from that except massive bags under my eyes!

I've got paracetamol in my hospital bag but if afterpains are that bad maybe I should pack something a bit stronger!

glaston I've only heard bad things about Talktalk, I think I'll avoid them!

stac did you get the raincover from mothercare then? I should get one for our maxi-cosi really

OP posts:
stac14 · 05/07/2010 08:39

chulita yeah it was from mothercare, it was just an after thought due to the weather lol. Poor you with the stopping and starting hun. Hope thats you on your way x

kkfairybrains · 05/07/2010 08:59

stac i never knew you could get a rain cover for the car seat! was actually wondering what would i do if it started raining hard while carrying it.now i know! must look into one.
chulitahopefully things start up again today. its very frustrating.
well im pretty tired myself today. had long day yesterday with contractions/BH i dunno what they were. 6 o clock sat evening they started, woke me up a few times sat night and had them all day yesterday.started timing them about 2 o clock yesterday when dp's mum suggested they could be real contractions, and they were 9 mins apart and then over the corse of the evening they started gettin closer together going to 5 and half mins and they were lasting 1 1/2 mins. they were real intense but not painful and started getting backache and didnt know what to do so went for shower because that usually eases off the braxton hicks but it didnt, went for a walk, bounced on the ball, went for a bath, rang the labour ward and they left me none the wiser! so made the decision to go to bed and get some sleep (which i did surprisingly!) and whenever i woke for a wee i was still getting them and had a couple this morn but nothing regular. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! i wish someone could just tell me im in labour or im not.so frustrating not knowing .even if someone said yes its labour but will last for a few days id be happy cos at least id know!
sorry for the rant!having quite a few of them lately!lol! anyway hope everyone has a good day!wonder will we have any babies?!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/07/2010 10:11

stac mw didnt say anything about sweep, Ill be 39+3 when I see her so dont know if she would, dont really know the policies for things like that round here. It would be nice if she does though, Im seriously getting so impatient and really want to meet my baby now!

Ive only just woken up! Said bye to DP at 8am then went back to sleep, quite unusual for me but was up so much during the night to go to the toilet I must have just been knackered lol.
Seeing my friend again today, giving her a lift to the council, nothing too exciting really

Wonderstuff · 05/07/2010 10:36

kk how frustrating for you.

Hope you enjoyed your wine MILC I had a cheeky glass of baileys last night and felt much better for it.

I've really only just got up - still in jarmies - normally I can't ever get back to sleep after I get up in the morning - but went back after seeing dh and dd off (mummy will go to school when she has got dressed - bless, dd can't get her head round mummy not getting in the car in the morning) and just crashed out for an hour - feel much better for it. Dh and I got loads of jobs done over the weekend so not much housework that needs doing today am hoping my clothkits doll will arrive and I can crack on with that - no sign of postie yet this morning (remember when they came before 9 and then again in the afternoon?) Got lots of boxes from Ikea yesterday to sort our dd's toys into some order, and hopefully find some room for lo, so should crack on with that really.

Strange the dogs getting a bit freaked out. I am typing with a cat on my arm, but she has been clingy since DD arrived and is always daft as a brush.

kkfairybrains · 05/07/2010 11:32

sounds like your well organised now wonder! i love a weekend of getting things done.we had one of those ourselves!just a few bits i had to get dp to do that i couldnt do! well there must be something in the air wonder and dh cos i fell back asleep after posting this morn too! just woken up when dp came home for his break with my body soaked in sweat! feel all the better for my sleep though.
and i just realised that today is the day that our housemate moves out!yay!!!!!!! he's a lovely lad and all but oh my god he's such a winge about any noise thats made in the house if he's asleep and now he's got this new girlfriend that sounds like a frikkin hyena and all ya can ever hear is her laugh.and she must find him hilarious cos thats all ya ever hear! so it'l be just us and then my friend stays 3 nights a week aswell but i love having her here cos she's always pampering me!
anything happening since chulita?

stac14 · 05/07/2010 11:39

Yeah kk they offered us a cover when we were buying the car chair but i thought it would be a daft idea because it was summer doh! Lol. You poor thing i would have thought that with this being your first they would at least bring you in for a check

dh I am totally shattered with being up and about all night, makes me so tired during the day. I'm just pottering about trying to make sure everythings done for lo

winter our dog has taken to staring at me, i must be different to him. I'm still in jammies too. Have to get dressed as need to go pick up my prescription

Well my pelvis is aching, can't believe how much pain i am in, wondering if lo has engaged. But i am totally breathless so i doubt that too. A bit nervous bout the op, already feeling pressure to be supermum. Have to talk to dp bout it, i don't want it to knock me ill (pnd) i'l avoid that at all costs. Is anyone else feeling like you have to know and do everything? X

Chulita · 05/07/2010 11:47

Nothing happening since - a few twinges but no more ctxs. They've been starting up in the evenings more though so we'll see what happens tonight. Gotta make some phone calls then I'm off for a nap!

stac just remember babies need very little when they first pop out - milk, clean nappy, sleep and cuddles. You're going to be fine, you've done it before

OP posts:
NorkyButNice · 05/07/2010 12:00

Morning all (nearly afternoon actually isn't it).

I'm having a totally crap emotional day today - I had 1.5 hours sleep last night because of contractions/BHs every few minutes keeping me awake - I told DH he'd better work from home today as things might happen, only for them to tail off and be back to every 10 minutes now.

I'm on the edge of tears and could literally sit and cry for hours

Have got a stinking headache and my vision has gone all blurry, which probably means I'm getting a migraine from lack of sleep - ARGH! DH wants me to phone the delivery suite to ask when they think things might happen but they'll just tell me to go away and call when I've got proper pains 5 minutes apart.

As for animal madness - my parents' dog is obsessed with me at the moment - the second I get in the door she goes mental, and when I sit down she launches herself into my lap and rubs her head against my bump. She doesn't sit on anyone else ever, so I'm sure she can sense something. Their cat did the same thing with the last pregnancy.

Wonderstuff · 05/07/2010 12:15

Oh Norky sorry you're having a crap day - I would call the delivery suite - I got told by MW to call when I started having 4 contractions in an hour - because things can suddenly go quickly with second babies - they might at least have some advise on pain relief and getting some rest - sounds like you need some.

Spirael · 05/07/2010 12:47

Afternoon all!

I'm another one that just went back to sleep this morning, after dropping DH at work. I only just got up! Though in my defence I was just laying on top of the bed fully clothed to rest. I feel a bit better for the additional sleep, though I still have the fetching panda eyes and now my hips are complaining a bit. Ah well!

Bathroom visits seem to have stepped up to every two or three hours in the last day or two, is that likely to mean LO is engaged and squishing my poor abused bladder even more? LO was still free at my last appointment, but that was over a week ago. No indicators of going early here though, I've had nothing in the way of a show and just the odd non-painful BH.

Sorry to hear things are being problematic for some of you. When I feel a bit rough, I just keep reminding myself that I only have a maximum of just over four weeks left being pregnant - and a lot of you have a lot less than that! When I think of how long I've made it through so far, especially that MS lasted much longer than four weeks and I survived that, then I don't feel too bad. But maybe that's just me!

I got to use my birthing pool to wallow in on Saturday evening for an hour, and that was bliss. DH and I made ourselves a delicious "LO is full term!" meal to celebrate, then we put some cloudy lemonade in champagne flutes before heading to the water. It was lovely! We're hopefully going to do the same next Saturday, as it's our 5th wedding anniversary. I'm looking forward to it already!

Anyway, I'm still a little sleepy but I think I've got all the current updates on the list..?

kapars · 05/07/2010 13:21

Congrats to all you ladies with babies and happy baby vibes to those still waiting.

Yasmin Sophia was born on Thursday night after a pessary induction on wed that didn't work followed by the drip on Thursday. Despite being really frightened of bieng induced it wa a great experience. I enjoyed the whole labour. Had no pain relief for first 4 hours after gthe drip was administered even though anesthetist said most people have epidural straight away as cntrcations severe.
Had a epidural later on and that worked like magic - got me to 10cm and then spent nearly 4 hours pushing as baby was in an awkwward postiion ...

oh thik she's waking....will come back later.xx

Wonderstuff · 05/07/2010 13:28

Congratulations kapars glad you had a good experience - you must be double hard

Fab that we are having so many positive birth stories.

Chulita · 05/07/2010 13:41

Congrats kapars!

norky sorry things are dragging on so much for you. Hope you get somewhere if you do phone the labour ward!

I could just cry. After the night I had last night I really need a nap but DD woke screaming after 45 mins. I spent most of that on hold to various banks. It took me over 30 mins to calm her down and now that's her for the day. I just need a sleep but I'd only just got into bed when she started screaming. DH is home late tonight too and I just cannot be arsed to think of anything to cook.

kapars congratulations- welcome to the world little Yasmin! welldone

stac we discovered that we have the rain cover for maxi cosi, it came with the i candy pram even though we bought the car seat seperately oh well! saved a bit of money

DH you sound quite fed up! hope you enjoy a little time with your friend even if it is just a boring trip to the council!

kk fingers crossed this is it for you- i know what you mean about the not knowing, just wish there was some timescale they could give you! although i suppose it all adds to the excitment of the unknown!!!

norky sorry to hear your having a crap day, did you call the hospital? watch out with the visual disturbances, my MW always asks if i've had any, think its to do with pre eclampsia.

Spirael sounds like your enjoying the birthing pool already! lol at the cloudy lemonade in champagne glasses

I went for a walk to post a letter earlier and got caught in a down pour! both the dog and i were soaked to the skin so came home and had a long bath- seem to have had a few BHs and got quite excited but nothing now!
Going to put my feet up and watch a film now- nothing weepy like yesterday though! got last chance harvey on the sky anytime, might be good

kkfairybrains · 05/07/2010 14:00

kapars congrats! 4 hours pushing ! thats a long time!lovely name btw!
norky could you have a bath and try to get a little rest? even just lie down and relax.
*spireal lucky you 2-3 hours bathroom visits! im going every 20-30 mins during the day! and only a dribble comes out! so annoying!
well dps uncle and wife were due yesterday too and they're on the labour ward! so exciting! but makes me jealous too! makes it all seem so real argh!!!!
stac she sisnt say come in or dont come in!it was me doing the talking and making the suggestions! i said to her hoe i was but they weren't painful and she was saying right whats your name and i'll get your chart.and i said what will i do will i come in if they stay the same and she said you'll have to if your not coping! after me telling her that they weren't sore! so she didnt give me any advise and i just said i think i'll have a bath and a rest and see how i get on. she didnt say anything!
