Lizzombie I had appointments at 10 weeks (MW), 12 week scan at the hospital, 16 week (MW) and I am now booked in for a 20 week scan at the hospital and 25 week appointment with MW.

Good luck today Honeymoo, I can't wait to find out what we're having. It's so exciting!

Getting back into my exercise routine now as I seem to be getting my energy levels back. Went to aerobics Monday evening, did low impact though and did Legs, Bums and Tums last night. Was nice to get out of the house!

Hope everyone is well!!! x x x

hmmSleep · 09/06/2010 08:27

Hope scan goes well honeymoo, very exciting!

blondecat, the early baby movements feel a lot like wind, with subtle differences. It really does feel like a little thing somersaulting inside there.

I haven't felt it much in this pregnancy yet, but I switch between feeling comforted by it and feeling a little freaked out - there's an actually living thing living INSIDE me!

balijay, don't feel too bad, I haven't done any exercise since I left school 17 yrs ago had dd 4 years ago. Glad the spotting seems to be stopping.

Are we supposed to get free prescriptions and dentist treatment? I did when in Scotland but not sure about down here. Asking because I have a dentist's appointment next week. Probably too late to get the relevant paperwork before then now anyway.

good luck today honeymoo! blondecat I think I have started to feel the baby move this week (18 weeks) but it took a while to be sure and even now I suspect it could be something digestive! It feels like a sort of bubble or very brief pressure inside, much like wind as hmmsleep says, but different once you know what you're looking for. I only notice mine when I'm still - it tends to move when I've been still for a while watching TV or doing my pregnancy relaxation CD, which is nice! I would like to feel mine more often, but then I figure I'll feel differently when it's kicking me in the kidneys every five minutes.

hmmsleep your GP's surgery should be able to give you a form for a maternity exemption certificate - you definitely get free dental treatment (for the first appointment/ check-ups) and I think you do get free prescriptions too. Mine took a few days to arrive by post but might be worth a go anyway?

I went to my first antenatal yoga session last night - it was lovely, lots of nice breathing and I slept like a log afterwards. Funny being in a room full of pg women though - especially as people are at all stages - as the new girl I was checking everyone's bumps trying to work out how far along they were. Not sure it counts as proper exercise though, spent most of the time lying down and breathing deeply, although we did do some pelvic toning which might come in handy...

Booboobedoo · 09/06/2010 09:07

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been posting. I must admit, now I'm feeling better I've been trying to forget I'm pregnant in order to try to make it go more quickly!

Sorry to hear about early SPD/movement worries/bleeding worries etc. It's such a scary time.

I feel great, although still quite lacking in energy. I've got my glow (apparently it's to do with having more blood), and I'm ridiculously pleased. I just stayed a grey mess throughout my last pregnancy.

You know when you get a twitch in the corner of your eye and you can't make it stop? Well, that's what my movements felt like for the first few weeks.

Now it just feels as through there's definitely someone in there. In fact, the baby literally kicked my hand off my stomach a few days ago!

I'm having combined consultant/hospital midwife/GP care, but didn't have a sixteen week check. That's the only one they're missing out, I think.

Scan is on 6th July (when I'll be 22 weeks).

Looking forward to hearing honeymoo's news!

umf · 09/06/2010 09:15

all the best for today honeymoo! looking forward to hearing the news.

harmony you did legs, bums & tums?? Respect. I'm off to veeeery gentle pilates now and will have to take rennies and a sick bag just in case.

20 week scan is 6th July here to - will be exactly 20 weeks. Pretending that's a long way off, because really really want to have thesis finished by then.

met two babies this weekend. one newborn, which reminded me i'm terrified of them, tho perhaps not quite so much as before. then a 10 month old who's just gorgeous and reminded me that i don't want to go back to work at 6 months again this time.

Threelittleducks · 09/06/2010 10:41

Hey all,

Hope everyone is well. Not been here for a wee whiley - been on hols! It was awesome. 9 days of bliss! Only problem is that it has reminded me of how stressful it is to live witht the in-laws, so therefore we have begun looking to move house asap!
Bit scary as dh has a habit of putting things off til the last minute and so am having visions of moving house at 8 months preggo (or something ridiculous as that).

Looking forward to the scan at 20 weeks (24th June) and very much looking forward to sharing all of your results too!

My hol photo's are some good some bad - holiday flump to bump wasn't as good as I envisioned, very much still just flump
Spent a lot of time hiding in black and feeling very hot and sticky. Lovely. Plus running around after 20 month old wasn't much fun, but have a lovely tan.

Babybean1 · 09/06/2010 11:28

Soo exciting about the scan honeymoo - cant wait to here your news! Have mine next wednesday and cant wait!

hmm we do get free dental treatment and prescriptions and like pidgin said you need to get an exemption certificate from your MW. I had a dentist appointment before my card came through and told them i hadnt received it yet at the dentist and they put that on their system, gave me the treatment for free and just told me to bring it next time. Hope yours will be as nice

Really want a holiday threelittleducks - glad you had a nice time. I booked to go to Rome for DH's 40th in August before getting pregnant, but MW has advised me to get doc to say i cant fly as will be 30 weeks and she doesnt think its a good idea! Dont think we will have chance to get away abroad before then so looks like an English break away will be the way forward!

Managing to get a swim in each week and trying to do a minimum of 32 lengths (half a mile) each time. Annoying tho as i seem to only have the energy to go when there are no lanes which means people keep getting in my way, and im so paranoid about someone kicking me in the tummy (little girl learning to swim kicked me last time so ultra paranoid now! fortunately wasnt hard!)so by the end of the 32 im fed up of that and get out!!

Have been told im looking better now, but agree with others thats its probably just because i looked so hanging for the first 14 or so weeks!

4madboys · 09/06/2010 11:43

hello all

just trying to catch up! cant belive some have 20wk scans already! mine is on the 7th july and i will be exactly 20wks

have my 16wk check on friday am hoping to hear the heartbeat, but as i have an anterior placenta it may be harder to find? and that apparently is why i am not really feeling the baby move. i wish i could feel it move as i am feeling less sick now, yet dont have a bump or anything so its almost like i am not pregnant! dp thinks i am being daft, but i really want to feel bean move, or get a little bump!

re holidays we have two in july! one is just a camping trip to the cornbury music fesitval, camping with four children, one of whom is a toddler, when 20wks preg! hmmmmmmm then at the end of july we are going to wales for a week, we have a chalet right on the beach which should be lovely

hope everyone is well and starting to bloom! xxxx

Rinnyx · 09/06/2010 15:39

Hi everyone, havent been on here for about a week I think, how is everyone doing?

I'm now in my 18th week and 2 weeks Friday til my 20 week scan, cant wait
I know its bad but I went and bought babys first christmas gift today but it was to cute not to buy plus I had already treated myself to a dress that is much needed for a wedding come September haha

Babys been kicking lots and I swear I can feel it when I put my hand on the area but DP and DD say they cant

rollerbaby · 09/06/2010 17:01

Hellooooo

So, it's a boy!! Oh yes, we could tell after seconds!! Very excited now - feel completely different now I know bizarrely. Everything was deemed normal so feel reassured and happy. Even better, have another growth scan on 7th July... fab, wasn't expecting that!

Went and had a glass of champagne afterwards and feel bit tipsy now, so lying down on the sofa. So happy...

let the shopping commence!!

Apparently my placenta is anterior but high whihc is ok, so probably why I haven't felt too much. Little monkey!

Babybean1 · 09/06/2010 17:05

Oh honeymoo that's lovely did you mind what you were having?? Did the sonographer tell you or were you able to see it yourself?? I'm soooo undecided whether u want to find out and have gone from definitely not, to wanting to!! Was hoping it may show me itself if I'm meant to know

comtessa · 09/06/2010 17:11

Congratulations honeymoo! So glad everything is okay for you. I can't wait for my scan - another month to go...

I'm convinced I'm having a boy, although, cautionary note: My mum went with my sister for her scan and apparently it was extremely obvious that the child was a boy and the sonog agreed. So, he was baby Sachin right up until he was born. When he turned out to be a little girl. They called her Anjali, Sachin isn't really a bi-gender name!
So I really want to find out but will NOT be buying girl or boy-themed items!

xxx

comtessa · 09/06/2010 17:13

PS I think my sister and her DH had jinxed it though - her DH really wants a son and the first DC was going to be called Sachin. And I have a delightful niece instead. Think they should consider a different boy's name if they have another! x

rollerbaby · 09/06/2010 17:16

I did think I was having a boy to be honest... although I did have a whopping 50% chance of being right, so doesn;t count does it?

You could see his little tinkle quite clearly... so if he's a she - I will be worried!

I didn't really mind to be honest and now I know, I'm really excited. More than I was before - it was worth finding out for me, it makes it more real and I definitely feel like I have a little person to talk about more definitely now if you now what I mean.

rollerbaby · 09/06/2010 17:17

oh and I'm due 31st October!!!! Hallowe'en!!!

harmonyb23 · 09/06/2010 17:21

Congrats Honeymoo! I am so envious really want to know what we're having... Can't wait till the scan on 5th July!

Gaga82 · 09/06/2010 18:41

Wow! How exciting Honeymoo, so glad it went well. Good luck to any more early Nov people who must be going over next few days.

Well after a couple of stressful days with 2 extra blood tests to check my liver functions, I got the all clear today. Relieved doesn't even come close! Had been avoiding coming online so I couldn't google and stress myself out.

Now I just wish I could feel some definate flutterings (18weeks today) just to reassure that everything really is fine! Scan on 21st, so not too long to wait. I'm still not wanting to find out, much to DH's disgust!

Bought some lovely summery maternity clothes, all this rain is not pleasing me

balijay · 09/06/2010 18:56

Oh wow honeymoo ! How fantastic! 1st July for my scan and it cannot come quick enough!
Gaga glad you got the news you were hoping for today - pregnancy can be so stressful sometimes can't it?

Sorry -- can't remember who else said what

Anyway, no bleeding today (touches wood) and have my 16 week appt 1st thing in the morning so am praying she will listen to the heartbeat to reassure me!

Pidgin · 09/06/2010 19:13

woo hoo honeymoo! Congratulations! Our scan is two weeks tomorrow and I cannot wait.

Glad to hear the bleeding has cleared up balijay - I am sure she will be able to get the heartbeat tomorrow and put your mind at rest.

emu82 · 09/06/2010 20:18

Great stuff honeymoo thats fantastic news, so pleased for you!

balijay glad the bleeding has stopped, im sure the mw will check heartbeat and you will feel much better.

Feeling scan envy, my next scan is the 8th of July and seems like a lifetime away!!

Hope everyone else is well and getting to that 'blooming' stage (Im not sure I'll ever get there!!)

Booboobedoo · 09/06/2010 21:04

Oh, honeymoo, a little boy. How lovely.

Feeling gooey now thinking about newborn DS...

At my second scan with him the camera went in right up between his wildly flailing legs. Even if we hadn't wanted to know, we had no choice.

tiany · 09/06/2010 23:00

honeymoo congrats... thats sooo exciting.

balijay i hope your scan goes well, i had bleeding weeks 6-10 and then again at 13 but doctor said if brown then not to worry as is old blood just finding its way out. Fingers crossed for you. its nerve wracking.

Whohooooooo i felt kicks, somersaults the other day while sitting in work, just came out of nowhere. Cant stop smiling when it happens... i think "he" is having a party in there.

cardi i am still running a bit and just found a pilates studio near me. had a session there last night and liked it... so going to give that a go now.

p.s. got plain black preggy trousers from GAP and they are really comfy!!!

bunnygirl80 · 09/06/2010 23:29

Congrats on your boy honeymoo Gaga glad your test results were ok

Balijay hope your appointment goes ok

umf · 10/06/2010 10:07

honeymoo so exciting!!! Can't wait to find out the sex here - now convinced it's a boy so will be good to find out either way.

All the best for today balijay.

Hope everyone's feeling well, despite the gloomy weather. I'm quite pleased with the rain showers because they disperse the yoofs who've been racing their unbelievably noisy scooters round and round the streets here. Turning into v grumpy old lady.

Babybean1 · 10/06/2010 10:44

Hope all goes well today balijay

Had really bad pains last night low down in my pelvis which I thought was round ligament pain (according to the weekly development emails I get that can happen about now) but according to the email it should only e short stabbing pains! These were persistant and really painful so waited until this morning to see if any better but unfortunately not!

Rang MW this morn who diagnosed PGP (pelvic girdle pain) and advised me to have physio. Said I was unfortunate to get it so early as it will no doubt last until labour so will need physio to learn how to manage the pain

Feel better now that I know what it is and it doesn't mean baby is going to fall out and am just resting up today in the hope it eases off
