Well I'm back - heard the heartbeat and all is well . Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! Midwife was lovely and is seeing me again at 25 weeks instead of 28 weeks due to the rather stressful few weeks we have had. Was great to hear heartbeat tho and she said I can go in any time for them to have a listen

Babybean1 I don't know anything about PGP but it sounds horrid for you. Fingers crossed the physio helps.

umf · 10/06/2010 14:48

V glad to hear it Balijay! Babybean ouch, that sounds scary and v painful. Glad you have a good midwife, tho. Has she given you a physio referral?

Babybean1 · 10/06/2010 16:51

Great news balijay lovely that you can drop in whenever as wel.

Thanks for concern guys, does feel bit better now midwife said there is a drop in session for phsyio but unfortunately not until 7th July! In the meantime I just need to take paracetamol and not over do it! Was worried as my mum lost a baby around this time (was before me so different world babywise then) as she had a weak cervix so I was worried I could be going down the same road. Also had pre cancerous cells romoved Nov 09 which removed some of cervix so didn't think that helped my worry! Thankully tho this seems to happen to quite a lot of people and although not nice, it shouldn't have any impact on the baby (phew emotion!! )

Spent most of the day sleeping which has been nice and I must have needed it I guess!

hope everyones had a good day

comtessa · 10/06/2010 17:42

Hi all, sorry to hear about your pains Babybean1.

I had a weird thing yesterday, was really finding it difficult to breathe properly for several hours. I felt that if I took a deep breath, I would tear or pull an abdominal muscle my stomach felt so tight. I didn't have any big meals yesterday. It felt like a balloon had been inflated inside of me.

So I called NHS Direct, who recommended I call midwife, who recommended I call the local out-of-hours GP service, who told me to come in sharpish.

Turns out it's nothing definite/serious but could be down to humidity in the air, or stress.
I've never experienced anything like it. However, as DH and I are currently buying our first house, my work is always busy (law) and the organisation I work for may go bust in six months so not sure if I'll get any maternity pay, so I guess it could just be stress. Has anyone else had anything similar? Sorry for ramble!

xxx

Congratulations on news of healthy little boy in there honeymoo! balijay, glad all went well today.

Babybean1, hope the pain killers ease things a little until you get your physio sorted, and thanks for prescription advice. Popped in to surgery and was told I should have been given the exemption certificate at my booking in appointment.

Does sound like you have a lot on comtessa, all very stressful. I suffer from IBS which can make my tummy inflate, it is really quite painful.

My cravings have switched over the past week, whereas I had been wanting lots of salty savoury snacks, now it's all about the cream cakes and chocolate! Just hoping it'll switch to fruit and veg next .

comtessa that would have been a bit scary, sounds like u are under a lot of pressure though on all fronts. Give yourself a day off to relax a little.

babybean so glad its something you can fix, though i imagine its quite painful. I dont know anything about it but i wonder if pilates would help? all about core and i am doing lot of pelvic floor strenghtening as they know i am pg...

balijay delighted for you, you must be relieved

llandb · 10/06/2010 21:20

Hello everyone -have a week of thread to catch up on so just waving hello for now

Rinnyx · 10/06/2010 21:44

Bit late but congrats honeymoo

Was on the bus today and I swear for about 5 mins baby had hiccups, just felt this repeat even patten on my lower bump, feeling it again right now, feels so strange but funny at the same time

Sabie · 10/06/2010 22:06

Checking in...

CONGRATS on your boy honeymoo

Glad things are good for you balijay.

Mums-to-be suffering with various pelvic pains - OUCH! Poor yous...

I am gutted I'm not feeling any flutters/bubbles. (I'm 16 + 2) Most of you seems to have been feeling the babies for weeks. Still first timers seem to feel later and I have no idea where my placenta is (did you lot know to ask about the location or was the info offered?)

bunnygirl80 · 10/06/2010 23:37

balijay glad your appointment went well

babybean sorry to hear you've been getting so much pain. Hopefully the physio will sort it

I have now got my second cold in 4 weeks. I blame all my patients who come in for appointments and cough all over me - I'm fairly sure if I coughed in their face while I was examining them they'd be less than happy but they don't seem to think I mind being covered in their germs. I spent yesterday lying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself, feeling a bit better today though so will have to try and motivate myself to get up and do some housework.

Wallace · 11/06/2010 06:51

Sabie - I'm 16+3 with my fourth and thought I was feeling flutters a few days ago, but nothing now for a couple of days so youre not alone.

tiany - I'm still running too

Wallace · 11/06/2010 06:51

Poor bunnygirl - hope you feel bettersoon

Wallace · 11/06/2010 06:52

Great news, Balijay

harmonyb23 · 11/06/2010 08:05

Great news Balijay glad to hear everything is going well.

I went to aqua aerobics for the first time in ages last night and it was a good laugh . Felt really good to be in the water. That totals 3 hours of low impact exercise for me this week, it's all stuff I used to do before I got pregnant but it's weird doing everything low impact. My instructor keeps telling me how good it is for the baby so I think I'll keep it up now as prior to this week I hadn't been for about a month due to feeling sick all the time!

Felt the baby moving around a bit yesterday whilst at work was weird as it started happening as I was walking through a year 10 lesson and I put my hand to my tummy and all the kids just looked at me like I was a mad person or something (don't think any of the children have noticed I am pregnant yet!) was good to feel the little guy/gal wriggling around though. Still gutted that DP can't feel it yet!

Rinnyx · 11/06/2010 09:37

harmonyb23 your not alone on the DP thing Think my DP is feeling left out tho not letting on as the past 2 nights I have woke (tho him not knowing) to him feeling around my bump and giving it a shake LOL

Oh I want to do some sort of swimming thing even if its just bobbing in the pool for a hour or so with DD but no idea of public pools in Norwich and no one to go with, just DD, might have to look online or something

balijay · 11/06/2010 11:28

Morning. Woke up to more bleeding this morning and it has really got to me today. Luckily I am off work now til Monday so can stick my feet up, but this is not helping my mental state. Sorry to be so miserable on a thread which should be happy, its just that I keep thinking today that I am only 17 weeks - how on earth am I going to hang on to this baby long enough to reach full term?

Comtessa I sympathise with you on the stress front. What with bereavement, busy work and trying to sell our house its all a bit much sometimes isn't it!

Babybean1 · 11/06/2010 13:00

Thanks for all the messages everyone

Felling loads better today so think the rest yesterday really helped! Hopefully with resting and the physio is shouldnt be too bad (she says hoping lots!!)

comtessa really hope you dont experience that again, sounds horrible. Sounds like a good excuse to me for lots of relaxing! (if an excuse was ever needed)

hmm glad you were able to sort out the certificate. Were you able to get your dental treatment for free in the meantime?

tiany i definitely want to try pilates and even bought a book on the moves to do during pregnancy. Now the pains have eased off i will give it a go and hopefully with strengthen them ready for more growing!

Rinnyx that sounds lovely! I want some hiccups! Not felt much the last couple of days and sooo looking forward to when DH can feel it too!

Oh balijay, that horrible! Just when you get excited it crops up again. Hopefully knowing that the baby is ok will make it a bit less stressful. Try not to let yourself get worked up as its not good for you or baby (so much easier said that done i know!)
Have they said what is causing it other than old blood?

SarahAggie · 11/06/2010 13:15

Sorry I haven't been on here since I first found out I was pg.

Had bleeding too balijay which was red and very worrying. It was at 12 weeks though and stopped after a week. Doctors just said it was one of those things. Not reassuring when you have had two mc's.

This morning I fainted. Luckily DH home at the time. Hit my head really hard on the floor and was out for 30 secs. Now have banging head ache.
Gp came around and checked BP- all normal. He has suggested DH brings me a cup of tea to bed every morning and to get up slowly!

CardiCorgi · 11/06/2010 13:15

Fingers crossed that everything is ok balijay

Feeling better than early in the week, awkward colleague was placated, found a cellist for some trios and quartets I want to play and the sun has come out in Bavaria. Is it just me, or is anyone else quite happy to have non-baby things to do and think about too? It's just that apart from eating well, getting enough sleep and exercising moderately I don't feel that there is anything else I can do right at the moment and it's nice to have other things to thing about where I am still just me rather than "pregnant woman".

Still am not feeling anything, this must be the laziest baby ever. It's definitely growing, though and a few colleagues have now noticed (took them long enough).

CardiCorgi · 11/06/2010 13:17

Sabie regarding the placenta, I get scanned every time I go to the gynaecologist here (German private health care), so I could see where it was.

4madboys · 11/06/2010 14:36

afternoon all

balijay, thinking of you, make sure you call the midwife if you want some reassurance xxx

those with pelvic pain, i get spd in pregnancy, its ok so far (touch wood) but it can be a nightmare, physio and wearing something tight like tubigrip round your bump and hips will help

had my 16wk check today, all perfect, heard the heartbeat so feeling good, esp as i am not feeling baby move, at 16wks with baby no 5 i was sure i should be feeling it, but i have an anterior placenta, which means i wont feel the movements as much.

all good and my next app is 7th july for 20wk scan and then i see the midwife again at 25wks, she is confident that all will go smoothly as my other pregnancies have been fine, this is the third preg i have seen her! and she is happy for planned home birth and has no worries re me or baby so that is nice, she just said call if i need to

smokeybacon · 11/06/2010 15:02

Afternoon ladies,

balijay hope you are ok. Just hold on to the fact that you heard a heartbeat yesterday after some spotting. Did MW say anything about poss reasons for it? I know its hard not to worry about it though.

comtessa that sounds like a scary thing to happen. Are you ok now? But blimey you have a lot on your plate at the mo! You are one of the QMC lot aren't you? And you say you are in the law. Me too! What area are you in? I'm in the crime game myself. Wonder if our paths ever cross?

harmonyb23 · 11/06/2010 15:46

Well I have lost my DS for half an hour while he plays across the road with his friend. Just trying this alcohol free lager, not bad I have to say but you can definitely tell the difference. Have to have a lager on a sunny day like today!!!

Sorry to hear that the bleeding has started again Balijay I had bleeding earlier on in this pregnancy, which was brown like yours and they said it is just one of those things, once all of the old blood is gone it should stop and you should be fine.

Really gutted that I didn't get to hear the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment now, but I think it was probably for the best, as if the midwife couldn't find the heartbeat I would be distraught by now!!!

Think my bump is starting to look more like a baby bump than a "flump" now, getting quite excited looking at myself in the mirror!!! No-one has asked me yet if I am pregnant though, which is a bit dissapointing!

Fenouille · 11/06/2010 16:43

Hello everyone, I'm back after our hols and it looks like I've missed loads... Hope all of you with health problems are soon feeling fighting fit again

Cardi so jealous of your lovely weather - we were at the Tegernsee two days ago in beautiful sunshine (we took the Wallbergbahn up and then walked back down) and now we're back at home and it's raining booo.

Harmony the best decision we made so far this pregnancy was to go to Germany on holiday - really good alcohol-free beer a gogo! Cheers!

cluelessnchaos · 11/06/2010 17:19

sarahaggie, hope you are ok, and what good advice from the doctor, a bit more advice like that and the nhs would be a wonderful place, i had bright red bleed at 12 weeks too, scared the life out of me, brown spotting since then, jus one of those things, not sure if you properly relax afterwards.
