Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

Good to hear your news Bubba

I am looking for some advice really. Last night I felt an odd sensation in my right side, sort of in my hip/groin, along my knicker line. I wouldn't even use the word pain, it was more just like an odd/warm sensation. Didn't feel it today at work but then again this evening I am conscious of it. I also have also noticed when I sneezed today that I have felt a pain, but on the other side, and now I have the odd "twingy" feeling on both sides.

I am driving myself mad worrying, wil be 8 weeks tomorrow. Does this sound normal or is it something to be concerned about?

LadyBuzz · 16/06/2010 19:02

bubba well done you and your little bugger bean

moules it sounds like it might be your ligaments pulling, very common and very normal and nothing to worry about. They just go a bit soft and twinge more easily - I always got it when I sneezed last time round!

FloraPost · 16/06/2010 19:05

Congratulations Bubba! Not long now to hang on til the 12 weeks.

I have been a bit quiet for a while. I had some bleeding on Saturday afternoon; not much but it was fresh blood. The out of hours GP couldn't do much but my own GP surgery, bless them, referred me to the EPU within half an hour on the basis of one phone call on Monday morning. I thought things were probably ok because I had no clots or cramps but DP has been very stressed. Anyway, had the scan today and there is apparently a heartbeat. I couldn't see it for the life of me but the other 3 people in the room could, so that'll do . The sonographer said she makes it 6 weeks 6 days which, if she meant how long since the foetus got made rather than how many weeks pg I am IYKWIM, means the dates I worked out are exactly right.

The sonographer gave us some pics which look like a humpback whale chasing down some krill . Weirdly, I didn't have a big emotional reaction. Maybe that will come when the foetus looks less blobby. At the back of my mind is, what if the sonographer meant 6 weeks 6 days pg? Thing is, I can't be so that would mean the blob is very small. Don't know what to think really.

Hope everyone else is ok.

BubbaAndBump · 16/06/2010 19:46

Flora, you'll get another EDD with the 12-week scan so you can check again then, although normally they say how pg you are based on bean's size (and dated from last period rather than from fertilisation). My EDD has moved forward from 23rd Jan to 19th, but I reckon I'll just be getting another big fat bugger baby

moules quite normal twinges, esp. when coughing and sneezing

Thanks for all the posts ladies

Flora when I had early scans with DD they came up with a date that didn't really tally with what I thought, again based on size so I thought she was small. As it turned out she was 8lb 7oz so didn't seem to add up really. As Bubba says they'll give you another EDD at 12 weeks, it's good they could see a heartbeat. Hope it keeps going well.

FloraPost · 16/06/2010 20:10

Thanks Bubba & Fuzzy, that's very reassuring - not that I want a whopper! Frankly I'm impressed that the sonographer could make anything out at all. It could have been taking after me and hiding from the camera. DP is chuffed to bits with it all anyway, which is lovely.

flossie75 · 16/06/2010 20:21

Bubba & Flora - that's fantastic news on your heartbeats.

I'm still counting down days - only two more till I see the mw and then I really hope I get an early scan.

Flora - I've had loads of twinging pains as well - one day on one side then it swaps over.

Also thought my boobs had stopped hurting earlier this week which of course I took as a bad sign but they're back with a vengance today! Says something when feeling pain and discomfort is a good thing.

Got an extension starting on our house at the end of this month so I'm distracting myself at work by looking at kitchen & flooring websites! Anything to stay awake.

reallygrumpy · 17/06/2010 05:06

bubba and flora that's such exciting news about your heartbeats! Congrats. I've got a scan on Monday which I'm looking forward to, I had an early scan with dd and I just want to see a heartbeat. We told my PIL yesterday and they're really excited but we're not telling anyone else (including dd) until I get the results of the nuchal fold test. I'm quite worried about downs cos I'm 37 now. Do any of you know yet which hospital you're having your wee one at? My doc did my referral but I probably won't hear till next wk. Enjoy the sunshine today! It's sunny here at the mo but it's 5am so it may not last!

knackered76 · 17/06/2010 11:09

Morning all. I've been offline for a couple of days but now all fixed!
Bubba and Florapost - hooray for your heartbeats!

My scan is tomorrow at 1pm so have obviously been over analysing all things as signs that there will be nothing there. Can't wait to have it just to put my mind at ease one way or the other! Also means that hopefully I will be able to tell people as quite frankly it's getting a little hard to hide the lardy lump of my tummy

Sunshine here so all good, even have my flip flops on! Now off to get a father's day present before I forget, again

Happy Thursday!

AmIGoingMad · 17/06/2010 18:52

Bubba and Flora- great news!
I've got my fingers cross for continuing the positivity tomorrow- my scan's at 8.30!
Good luck for tomorrow to you too Knackered!x

knackered76 · 17/06/2010 19:37

AmIGoingMad - fingers crossed for tomorrow morning. Sending positive vibes

WestYorkshireGirl · 17/06/2010 21:06

Been away so just a quick post. Good news on the scans and AIGM good luck for tomorrow.

BubbaAndBump · 18/06/2010 06:14

Booking appt today - thought I was going to have to cancel it!

Good luck with scans and appts today AIGM and knackered - knackered I'm with you on the bulge showing - two people at work yesterday asked me if I was pg! My tummy muscles have just given up the fight

FloraPost · 18/06/2010 07:04

Good luck today, knackered and AIGM. Fingers crossed for both of you.

We are going to tell the outlaws tonight and my parents on Sunday. Another step towards making it seem real. I would rather wait because I still find it all a bit overwhelming but DP is so bursting with excitement after the scan pictures, I don't have the heart to rein him in. Also I think the chances of mc reduce at 8 weeks?

No bulge here yet, but the advantage of being a fat bird anyway is that hopefully people won't guess! What might give me away is the vast quantity of (healthy) snack food in my drawer at work. Touch wood, I can keep the nausea at bay by getting tons of sleep and eating, er, all the time. Fruit flakes are pretty good; lovely and sour.

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2010 08:36

I think I spoke too soon. I have felt rotten over the last couple of days even DH told me last night I looked like shit yeah thanks for that!

I can go from feeling really sick to being completely starving in a matter of seconds and if I don't eat I feel like I will pass out.

My tummy muscles have also given up on me, I look 6 months already. Although I think it is my real pg pushing up all the fat

Good luck AIGM and knackered for today.

lilllysa · 18/06/2010 09:27

Hi All

Just dropped in to say Hi Been posting on the other Jan 2011 thread so hadnt noticed this one

Hope everyone is feeling good and good luck to everyone with up and coming scans and appointments

x

flossie75 · 18/06/2010 10:53

A question - is feeling like you're constantly just about to get a cold normal? I've been feeling like that for a few days thought nothing of it then a friend who is 7 months (doesn't know I'm pg) mentioned she'd felt like that for 6mths. So was wondering if it's just a pg thing or am I really coming down with something. Feels just great on top of tiredness!!

Also - all my trousers are feeling tight. Keep convincing myself I just want to be looking pg but from everyone elses comments it sounds possible it might be as a result of everything growing.

Hope I don't get too big too quickly as I don't want to have to buy any summer pg clothes!

Feeling much more positive - 8wks & 4d - have never got this far before!

Fuzzywood · 18/06/2010 13:08

Hurrah, scan appointment has come through for 6th July, on holiday next week so hopefully the time will go quickly. Hope the scans went well today.

saltnvinigarcrips · 18/06/2010 13:26

Hi everyone, just taken me an hour catching up on all the messages so feel like I am all caught up. I didn't realise there was this section of TALK as new to everything. My EDD is 25 January and so far I think I have been pretty lucky with symptoms. Slightly jealous of everyone getting scans already. I only have a booking appointment on 6 July and first scan to be made after that.
Absolutely starving and waiting for my jacket potatoes. Just want carbs all the time at the minute. No cravings as such just food aversions. Been very naughty this week and taken 2 days off work as I thought i was getting an ear infection. Feel okay today though but just wanted some me time and couldn't cope with a full teaching day. Bit pathetic really. Anyway I hope everyones scans go well. Will feel so much better once I have mine and know everything is okay. I was with my sister when she found out she had a MMC so overly anxious i think. 15 minutes till potatoes are done and need to do something so i don't eat crisps in the meantime.

knackered76 · 18/06/2010 13:32

We have a heartbeat, and only one Hopefully my 12 weeks will be on 16th so not that long to go until I can have another look! Probably telling children and inlaws/parents next weekend so then it's bound to go global. Although, not like I can hide it that well anyway. I will have to start looking at maternity or will constantly appear to have a muffin top!

Flossie75 - soooo pleased you've got further Fingers crossed and lots of positive vibes.

Welcome new people and congratulations!

mimster · 18/06/2010 14:28

Glad to hear about the heartbeats and the good news from Bubba
I am 9 weeks tomorrow, so counting down into week 10 which is starting to feel like we are making progress!
Got my scan date through for 14 July, which still feels ages away but nice to have a date in the diary

As a way of providing a bit of distraction, call me crazy but I am off camping this weekend! To be fair it's stricly 'glamping' - DH, 2DC and I are all off to a working farm in Suffolk where they set you up in a spruced up 'tent' complete with woodburning stove and a flushable loo (a girl needs a bit of comfort!) (check it out at Featherdownfarm.co.uk). It's all v rustic and back to basics - no electricity, only oil lamps and coking on the stove, but they supply duvets and hopefully it'll be quite atmospheric. I may well be more excited than the kids . Apparently it's calfing season, so hopefully the kids will get to see some and the farmer's wife rang last night to say they have just had a new litter of puppies!

All we now need is for it to piss down all weekend

mimster · 18/06/2010 14:29

"cooking" not "coking" (although that probably sounds more interesting!)

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2010 14:40

*mimster think it must be close to mine, I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and my scan is the 13th

Featherdown farm looks amazing - i reckon I could even get DH to agree to that sort of camping. Hope you have a fab time.

flossie thats grerat for you.

knackered great news for you too.

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2010 14:41
