Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

BubbaAndBump · 18/06/2010 15:54

I've moved to 19th Jan - little bugger is already bigger than it should be ~ doesn't bode well! We went camping the weekend I found out I was pg :D

Good news flooding in from all, although I was genuinely a bit disappointed for it not to be twins knackered

Booking Appt today - 40 mins!! Took about seven tubes of blood though

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2010 18:48

ooh bubba how awful. I hate hate hate having blood taken!
Sorry to hear its not twins, like you have said before twin boys would make your family complete!

BubbaAndBump · 18/06/2010 19:12

Yep LadyB I'd take childbirth over having blood taken anyday

DH is pleased as pie it's not twins lol! He's a bit more realistic than me... Ahh well, maybe next year..

Quite relived over here at the lack of twins. Having spent quite a bit of time with a friend who has just had her third, coping with a newborn and 2 others is hard enough!

Boo about the blood, somehow I had managed to forget about the ritual bleeding!

reallygrumpy · 18/06/2010 20:26

Yuck, I'd forgotten about all the blood tests. I have a tendency to faint whenhaving blood taken, cos I have a needle phobia. When I was pregnant withh dd I was having blood taken, told the nurse I needed to lie down in case I fainted and she told me I needed to toughen up if I was going to have a baby!

I've got my scan on mon and I'm 9 wks on sun. I'm having a early scan cos my pg is the result of fertility treatment which we had to pay for so I get a scan for free. Am so excited about seeing the blob, just want to hear a heartbeat!

It's v weird but I'm having diff symptoms this time. With dd I was sick as a dog for the first 16 wks and actually lost weight but this time I can't stop eating and am exhausted. The latest I've been to bed is 9pm.

Oh, and if your trousers are getting a bit tight the it's worth buying a pair or two a size up cos you'll wear them post baby, it took me 9 months to get back into my pre-baby jeans.

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2010 20:32

reallygrumpy 9 months thats good going i still haven't managed to get back into mine and DS1 is 4 next week

Good luck for Mon!

BubbaAndBump · 18/06/2010 21:01

Sorry reallygrumpy? can you explain what you mean about getting back into pre-baby jeans? It's not a concept I'm familiar with.

And I'm already in my maternity jeans

OP posts:
reallygrumpy · 18/06/2010 21:37

I wear pre-baby jeans on thin days, I've actually never stopped wearing maternity jeans cos they're so much more comfy! I'm going to try not to get so fat this time and not just sit on the sofa eating chocolate buttons. I've ordered the davina pg DVD but I find her quite annoying so it may never make it out of it's wrapper

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2010 21:47

bubba i'm only not cause they are in the attic and I can't lift the case

I'm so not wanting to buy anything maternity just incase I tempt fate - I know that is ridiculous esp as I have a christening next week and I don't have anything decent that fits! I def think DH will be finding that case this weekend!

I'm resigned to getting fat, I put on 4 stone with both of the boys and i'm a short arse too which doesn't help

knackered76 · 19/06/2010 08:13

Think I'm going to get me a bigger size pair today. There's only so much breathing in a woman can do!

I put on 3 stone with both ch, determined this time not to put on so much. I've even been going to the gym (looking at fit men in tight tops counts as exercise doesn't it?).

Happy weekends ladies, enjoy

flossie75 · 19/06/2010 19:05

Had my booking in apt this morning. Got to wait for a scan apt but have been told it won't be for at least a couple of weeks unless I have problems.

but at the same time because the longer I have to wait the more everything is progressing as 'normal'.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one getting bigger already. Got a big family party in a few weeks - hopefully I'll be able to share the news then cos if I keep going the way I am there'll be no hiding it!

Might also have to go bra shopping next week as I've only left that's remotely comfortable.

FloraPost · 19/06/2010 19:52

Flossie, I went bra shopping today. The first of many new clothes trips, I think. 32D up to 34DD so far, but the fitting lady told me I'll be back in a month for an E . She also said they don't recommend underwired in pregnancy. Not sure why that is, surely if it fits properly it won't squish anything that shouldn't be squished? I got the wired one anyway; I still have some pride at this point.

LadyBuzz · 19/06/2010 20:06

I went bra shopping last week, I have absolutely no pride left what so ever. She recommended going straight for a maternity bra then asked if I was sure I was only 8 weeks. Honestly if I carry on at this rate I will be shopping in Millets for mine

BubbaAndBump · 19/06/2010 20:07

It's partly to do with your milk ducts flora as the shape of your boobs once baby's here will change throughout the day and underwire can also put pressure on your boobs which can lead to blocked milk ducts or mastitis (neither is a barrel of laughs!)

OP posts:
FloraPost · 19/06/2010 20:38

I can imagine that I won't give a crap when the baby's here, but we ain't there yet! I guess I can keep the situation under review; I don't mind toddling back to John Lewis every month if it comes to it. I have a friend who didn't bf her second DC because she didn't want her boobs to deflate and hit her knees. I wouldn't go that far, but spaniel ears are a bit of a concern (vain and shallow emoticon).

knackered76 · 19/06/2010 20:55

Wouldn't worry about boobs deflating and hitting knees with breastfeeding, that happens anyway once they deflate from pregnancy! Apparently breastfeeding helps regain shape, or something like that?!?

I have always been anti plastic surgery but the more children I have the more I seem to consider it

BubbaAndBump · 19/06/2010 21:11

Sorry Flora but it's the pregnancy not the breastfeeding that'll change your boobs - although mine are still vaguely pointing upwards (tmi) after breastfeeding my two for a year. But this is still the time to enjoy the pregnancy not worry about the less appealing side effects

OP posts:
FloraPost · 19/06/2010 21:22

Fuck it then, might as well bf the non-bump until it's 9. My friend does have a prize-winning rack 7 years on so her strategy seems to have worked.

We told DP's parents last night; MIL cried - happy, I think . More of the same expected when we tell mine tomorrow.

BubbaAndBump · 19/06/2010 21:32

Hey! Congrats on telling the ILs and enjoy telling your parents tomorrow - it's so much fun!

OP posts:
knackered76 · 20/06/2010 07:21

Flora - hooray for telling inlaws. Hope today's telling goes as well, I'm sure it will as everyone loves baby news . My MIL cried when we told her we were getting married, those however were not tears of joy!

I have a friend who breast fed both hers for 8 months and has the best boobs I know. They even stay up without a bra!?!?!?!

AmIGoingMad · 20/06/2010 20:46

Hello all!
fab news Knackered!
We have a heartbeat too! So happy to see it!
Although they've told me I'm probably a week less pregnant than I thought so that means I'll be due beginning of feb so I now feel like a fraud on this thread but I don't want to leave!!!
Have also told people now- couldn't keep it in any longer and feel that if something goes wrong now then I'm going to need their support. Also, as a teacher with a cover list going up I don't want people to think I'm just skiving when I'm off- also means my lovely colleagues will let my class in when it's a particularly busy lesson (our corridor is such a bottleneck that there are constant traffic jams of pupils!) x

knackered76 · 20/06/2010 20:53

AmIGoingMad - oh my gosh I haven't been able to get you off my mind since friday. I was so worried the scan hadn't gone well (see if I'm not panicking about myself I panic about other people!). So pleased you saw the heartbeat . We are tempted to tell people now as well but I reckon I will keep it from family and tells friends, I know I'm a bit weird but I can't be dealing with the over excitement from MIL!

Hooray, hooray, hooray for all those little heartbeats

WestYorkshireGirl · 20/06/2010 21:28

Hi All

Been reading posts, just no time to post responses. Not much to report really - sickness feeling subsiding, but hunger and tiredness still rampant! Had 3 days travel for work end of last week and was a zombie by Fri and went to bed at 8.45pm! Trying not to worry, but am finding it hard. Scan appt has come through for w/c 12 July which seems ages away and just worried that it's gone wrong since 7 week scan - my last baby died around then.

Anyway have only told 5/6 close friends who all supported us through the mc and who we would tell it it happened again, but looking forward to 12 weeks when it can be out in open. It's so hard hiding feeling absolutely terrible at work! I used to be a teacher and have no idea how those of you who are are managing!

Battling with the food issues and waistline too! Am finding the regular walks are helping and the quite strict snacking on good things, but then I have a crisp moment! Have also been baking and eating flapjack as it seems to fill me up well!

Have a good week all!

Rocklover · 21/06/2010 11:42

Hi ladies, hope you are all doing well. I have had intermittent light brown spotting since early hours of Sat morning.

Have an EPU appt tomorrow morning, but I am not sure whether to be hopeful or not. At least I will know for sure tomorrow.

Rocklover · 21/06/2010 11:55

And my severe nausea has drastically reduced today, it's really scaring me.
