Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

Hi all

Have just come back from my scan and am happy to report that there's a heartbeat - yey!!

AmIgoingmad I hope yours is also positive. The procedure itself was a bit embarrassing - in my nervousness, I stripped off my bottom half as instructed but forgot to use the blanket to cover my ladybits, so when the gynae (male) pulled the curtain back, there was I, lying in all my glory ... until he covered me up

AmIGoingMad · 08/06/2010 11:42

Thanks WestYorkshireGirl and Mimster- very much appreciated! Glad to hear that yours went well!
Went for scan (also had my first two incidents of sickness before it but can't decide if that was just nerves about the scan or actual symptom )
They did do vaginal one and as you said it wasn't as bad as I expected- a little uncomfortablt but more comfortable than a smear by long way!
They were happy with what they saw and were encouraging as they thought they could pick up teeny tiny embryo and some faint heart but to be on safe side they're going to see me for another scan in 10 days-I ovulated late ish so even though the doc has said 6 weeks it might be currently around 5 instead.
I'm pretty pleased with this so far to be honest and will keep you posted! Thanks again for reassurance and support!

knackered76 · 08/06/2010 12:36

for the positive signs so far for you both!

Welcome to all newcomers, great to see some good scan results coming in - my booking appt isn't until the end of next week and scan appt to be given to me then, but I'll still only be not quite 10 weeks by then, so not worried, although the security of a good scan is brilliant.

First day back at work tomorrow - managed not to puke over the kids so that's good!

duh, I mean First day back at work yesterday... bloody pregnant brain already!!

WestYorkshireGirl · 08/06/2010 20:50

Great news on the scansMimster and AmIgoingmad - glad they went well.

I am having a bit of an issue with food! I swing from ravenously hungry that nothing much fills me up to not really fancying anything and having to force things down. The evenings are worst -about 10.30. Last night I ate a bag of crisps and 3 choc hobnobs before I could sleep. I have been generally doing very well eating mainly fruit and raw veg and wholemeal pitta bread, but they only seem to keep me going a short while. If I eat too much I get terribly bloated so have gone onto little and often. Anyone else having similar issues? When I get really hungry the nausea goes through the roof. Trouble is I am looking a little podgy already! It's got me down a bit today... .

FloraPost · 08/06/2010 22:12

Food issues aplenty over here. I have gone right off chocolate, garlic, tomatoes, orange juice, spinach, broccoli, carrots, oily fish and greens. Can't even bear the smell. I normally eat tons of veg but just can't force it down. I am trying to stick to healthy food otherwise (porridge, low-fat dairy, pulses, fruit) but my diet is anything but balanced atm.

DP, who is a serial vitamin C avoider, takes this as proof that the non-bump is his .

knackered76 · 09/06/2010 10:47

I'm the same, just can't make my mind up with what to eat, when to eat, how to eat . . . .
I'm only 6 wks and I am comedy porky already, I'm blaming it on this being my third and my body having given up any hope of keep itself together

Am determined to be healthier this time, failed miserably last two, but after only 3 weeks of knowing am already struggling, doesn't bode well methinks!

For the first time yesterday I was really hungry and then came over feeling really sick, would have been reassuring if I wasn't doing something with my DD and DS at the time that required concentration

WYG - the podgy feeling will come and go and then it will just go. It's worse because the general public don't know so makes you feel bigger then you probably are. Chin up and keep munching ;)

BubbaAndBump · 09/06/2010 18:48

I know how you feel knackered - my tummy's just gone "oh sod this for a lark" and I no longer fit in loaaaaaaads of clothes

so carrot cake yesterday (just three slices for teatime!!) and spicy nik naks today. Can't really cope with anything sweet atm, which is so not like me. Spicy, spicy, spicy is the way forward for me. loads little and very often is the way to go

OP posts:
WestYorkshireGirl · 09/06/2010 20:44

I also have gone off sweet things entirely - it's savoury for me! Have been a bit better today, but I guess it's going to be a day by day thing! Glad I'm not alone!

Fuzzywood · 09/06/2010 21:00

Glad I'm not the only one with the food issues, when I get hungry I feel sick but when I eat I get indegestion and feel sick, you can see a pattern. Also really tired and no way I'm hiding this one until 12 weeks! Will have to invest in some baggy tops.

mimster · 10/06/2010 10:01

I sympathise too! Not so much with the food thing - can't get enough of cold milk and natural yoghurt, which is not that weird when you think about it - but I just feel bluergh all the time. Really finding it difficult working full time, and doing the school run in the mornings on the bus. This morning I was with my 2DC on the top deck, wch was rammed and hot, and thought for one horrible moment that I was going to have to run downstairs to vom. Luckily I held it together. Roll on the second trimester and the holy grail that is feeling 'glowing' ...

Hang in there ladies!

flossie75 · 10/06/2010 16:10

Hello all & congratulations!!

My EDD is 24 Jan - expecting 1st one but had 2mc last year - so seriously keeping fingers crossed at the mo.

Am convinced that all my symptoms are worse than before and that's a good sign.....hopefully not just positive thinking

If I'm not exhausted I'm irritable and my boobs are unbelievably sore!!

We've only told my sister so far but I'm just waiting for an early scan appointment when I hope we'll have good news to share more widely.....

WestYorkshireGirl · 10/06/2010 17:49

Major falling off of the wagon today - TWO pot noodles and roll at lunch time (hangs head in shame)....... Clearly I should ensure I always shop online and don't get tempted in the supermarket....

AmIGoingMad · 10/06/2010 17:58

I'm having food issues too! I love toast in the mornings usually but the smell of it is turning me at the mo so I'm having 2 ginger nuts as breakfast- terrible! Then one minute i really fancy something but by time i get round to making it i feel sick! Also- only really fancying naughty savoury stuff like chips! I am however forcing myself to have healthy stuff and generally feeling better after I've had it! Onion bagels are my only lunch of choice at mo too!
I too am also thinking that I've got a tummy that I would usually get after a wine fuelled weekend followed by hangover food- only now it's without any wine at all!!!

knackered76 · 10/06/2010 19:12

Welcome Flossie and congratulations. Fingers crossed for this pregnancy going the distance. We're due on the same day, at least until the scan says different When is your early one? I have one next friday to check viability.

I've had 2 giant chocolate cookies and 2 jaffa cakes for tea. Am now planning on eating the left over pasta from the children's tea. I don't seem to really fancy anything but then if you put a packet of biscuits in front of me you had better be quick if you want one!!!!

Have also spent the day being exhausted and being really ratty with my 2dc at the end of it, I really can be a monster to them at times I've been having pains on and off all day and think it has clearly got me a bit stressed, so who better to take it out on then a 3 and 5 year old!!!!!

Am off to polish my mother of the year award Tomorrow is another day and one I shall try to be calmer in . . . .

BubbaAndBump · 10/06/2010 20:15

Not feeling too pukey today or yesterday for that matter - the stupid person in me is worried about that though!!

My god this time is dragging though!! Still not even 8 weeks. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh, welcome Flossie (wave, wave) Fingers and legs crossed for you too

OP posts:
WestYorkshireGirl · 10/06/2010 20:28

Flossie Hi! I too had a mc earlier this year and know how you feel about the worry; however, I have found it's getting better and I too am reassured by the complete overpowering nature of these symptoms compared to last pregnancy! My DH has also told me he can't remember me being so contrary about food!

FloraPost · 11/06/2010 16:39

I think I might be dying. This morning I could not (tried really hard, I did ) drag myself to work before 10:20. I left at 1:45 and am now laid out on the sofa - shortest working day ever! I'm not sick, just knackered like I've never been in my life. If a speeding truck was hurtling towards me I'm not sure I'd rouse myself to get out of the way.

Anyone else finding this? How on earth do you carry on if you already have DC?

On the plus side, my booking appointment is on 29th June. Excited! No scan date yet though.

huffpuff75 · 11/06/2010 19:41

Hi everyone. Finally feeling ready to join after some traumatic weeks. Two bleeds and two early scans later I am now at 8wks 4 days and MW says I am due on 20 January (first DC).

Had a MMC last year and was feeling nervous, but seeing the baby on the scan with a strong heartbeat has given me confidence.

Great to read everyone's stories. Good to see Knackered on here - thanks for the support before my scan yesterday

knackered76 · 11/06/2010 20:01

Huffpuff - hooray for strong heartbeats and welcome!

Flora - hope you're feeling a bit better, and yes I have been beyond tired the past few weeks. How you cope with 2 (or 1)other children is just getting on with it and collapsing the minute they go to bed

I have a wedding tomorrow and have just discovered I don't fit into the dress I was planning on wearing as my boobs are now too big Luckily I have an alternative! Got an exam on Monday as well so getting in a bit of a tizz about that, but at least it keeps my mind off pregnancy and counting the days for a while! I have a scan next friday and am sooooo impatient to see everything is okay.

Have lovely weekends ladies

huffpuff75 · 11/06/2010 20:04

oooh pregnancy brain - had MMC in Feb not last year. I hadn't even noticed it starting!

Shanster · 12/06/2010 02:33

Ah, first trimester is only half way over! So tired and nauseous, glad to see everyone else is having food issues too!

aly323 · 12/06/2010 20:46

Hello ladies. I haven't checked in for awhile, I had a scare and have been too nervous to get too excited (I had a mc in April). However, my recent scan and the tiny little heartbeat I saw, have me feeling much better.

I've been feeling pretty sorry for myself since I've been round-the clock yucky for about a week. However, it seems that I just might not be the only one. Hopefully we'll all be through it before too long. I'm diabetic, so I'm constantly forcing myself to eat my healthy meals. When I do feel like eating, all I wanna do is lock myself in a room with a mountain of fast food and candy... but I can't.

I'm feeling a bit of knackered. I wake up every morning hoping the boob fairy came in the night. So far no such luck.

WestYorkshireGirl · 12/06/2010 22:22

Aly sorry to hear you've had issues as well. Before I had the scan I was convinced it was all over as the pain was so bad. It's so different being pg after a mc as you feel like you are holding back 'just in case'. I am counting down to 12 weeks a bit obsessively...

Food situation has improved a bit today - had scrambled eggs and chives with wholemeal bread and think I might have found a bit of a winner in terms of something I fancy . RE boobs - mine not grown at all but hurt like hell! I might have to start sleeping with a bra on to stop them moving about and causing agony....

Knackered hope the wedding was good.
