Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

ryuk my thoughts exactly. Knowing it's a boy/girl def cuts down on half the thinking!

As my dad pointed out when we were shopping the other day - mothercare was "so boring" that he said he was pleased i was only looking at half the clothes there, otherwise he might have gone crazy!

BubbaAndBump · 11/09/2010 07:09

Hi ladies :) Sorry haven't been on for ages, just started my new job and the hours and workload are massive - only just getting home in time to see the little ones into bed :(

Had my scan on Weds, all good, all fingers and toes correct :o It was wiggling all over the place and booted the poor sonogropher's thingamy right off my tum!! :o :o Saw its face really clearly which was a bit weird - it does really exist then! :o

We are sooooooooo skint this month that nothing's being bought beyond the absolute bare essentials, but now that the scan's shown everything to be fine, I'm going to get a new baby mattress and car seat next month (if it fits! Confused) - on vera!

Hi bubba new job doesn't sound fun - but at least it's only for a bit, until you start mat leave and then can have a "rest" ha ha!

Yeah - i think we're going to be skint rest of month after my spending spree - although luckily my DH doesn't care what food he eats when i'm not there. I spoke to him last night and he'd had scrambled eggs for dinner last 4 nights!!! So he's obviously not spending much on food shopping.

Naughty baby kicking so hard. Did you find out the sex? Hurrah for scans - i'm so excited about mine on tues. Grin

BubbaAndBump · 11/09/2010 10:28

New job's good, but long hours so it's hard on the girls, but it's only covering a term's sabbatical anyway so it finishes in December - perfect timing for me :) Just being grown up all day every day is a bit hard Hmm

Had my scan on Wednesday and it was great to see the little thing again. At one point the sonographer was showing us the feet when suddenly two hands came down and grabbed them. So cute! Anyway, 'structurally sound' so very relieved that everything seems to be okay. We didn't want to find out the sex but DH is sure he saw a little willy lol. Anyway, I went out yesterday and cupcakes you'll be pleased to hear I bought the very first babygrow. Very cute, white with yellow spots and a furry duck on the front. Has made it easier to picture it as i've been feeling strangely detached recently. Think it's because i'm back to work after a lovely long holiday.

RunningKatie · 12/09/2010 20:27

Hello all

We've been looking at cotbeds today, most exciting.

Also, I'm busy putting lots of stuff onto ebay, otherwise the poor baby is going to be living in chaos! :)

Off work tomorrow, it's lovely to think I've not got to get up.......

Madinitials · 12/09/2010 21:52

Hello all, can I join you? I'm due on 28th Jan, having my scan this Friday.

FloraPost · 13/09/2010 06:54

Hi, Madnitials, you have the same due date as me! Welcome. Is this your 1st?

I bought a couple of pairs of mat trousers for work yesterday. Nothing special, just dotty Ps. They are a bit big round the middle but at least I have them now for when I need them. I tried Gap first but the only sizes they had were 8, 6 and 4, FFS. This wasn't even a weeny shop, it was Bluewater. V. poor.

Also made the mistake of trying out a couple of gilder (sp?) chairs. Oohhhhhhh, they are lovely, I WANT!!! Might look on e-bay as the £500 price tag in John Lewis is a bit eye watering.

I have a 2 hour pay negotiations meeting with our chief exec this afternoon. Hoping and praying I don't sick in the middle of it.

Ryuk · 13/09/2010 07:02

Welcome Madinitials! Your due date is two days after mine. Smile

I emailed my mum to tell her it's a boy, she said she hadn't wanted to know and hadn't thought I was going to find out, because she wanted it to be a surprise and had assumed so did I. Um, I was surprised. How is finding out at the scan, not a surprise, or less of a surprise than finding out later?

Also, is anyone else experiencing a lot of fidgeting around the twenty week stage? I thought it would still be too early for this, but in the last few days I keep feeling internally poked in various directions. Hmm

CupcakesHay · 13/09/2010 16:24

Hello everyone - and hello madinitals

Firstly - salt you get a big thumbsup. I bet now you've started you won't stop.

Finally - i have a bump showing... being a big girl it's taken a while to properly show... but it's here with a bit of a vegenance now. And same as you ryuk properly properly feeling the baby! Just wish DH was here to see me get excited - but still have another 2 weeks til he comes over.

Plus the midwife told me I should make sure i fly back by at least my 30th week... so i'll be away from him (and the cats) for ages. Ho hum. On the plus side, my parents are spoiling me... and i'm designated driver so they're enjoying me being around and we're going to loads of pub quizzes!

My rescheduled scan is tomorrow... and I have midwife appt too! All happening!

flora did you throw up in middle of pay negotiations? Love that image Grin

runningkatie i've been doing ebay stuff with my mum - she makes knitted toys and stuff - so is busy putting htem on ebay. She's already made some fab shawls and cardies for the baby!

Can't believe we're half was through... where does the time go???

jjkmI don't think you'll ever feel "normal" again - from what i've see nof my friend that had twins! Wink Are you finding out the sex of the twins?

FloraPost · 13/09/2010 20:34

Hehe, it would have been a good way of indicating my displeasure at the paltry offer wouldn't it? No sicking since last night, thankfully, and that was my fault really for eating too late.

After a bit of budgeting at the weekend, we've decided that I'll have a year off Smile. I can't wait, but it doesn't feel like much time to sort things out at work. Not sure yet when to go though. I was thinking 2 weeks before due date but is that completely bonkers?

jjkm, I so know where you are coming from! My boss told me the time goes fast from here on in; I bloody hope so.

BubbaAndBump · 13/09/2010 20:35

BubbaBubba hoofs me all evening long, knocks the zapper (remote control) off my tum, punches DD1 and DH when they come and feel for little kicks and generally bounces on my bladder daily (in preparation for the olympics next year I like to think!)

Welcome Mad :)

OP posts:
Madinitials · 13/09/2010 21:48

Hi there, thanks for the welcome!! This is my second - DD has just turned 1 so having them close together.

Cupcakes good luck with your scan tomorrow. Are you finding out the gender?

saltnvinigarcrips · 13/09/2010 22:45

Hey cupcakes how was the scan? Everything okay?

CupcakesHay · 13/09/2010 23:03

Scan's not til Tues... but yes Madnitals def finding out sex.

jjkm I think identical twins are FAB! I'm so excited to hear from you.

Went to pub quiz tonight, and was in middle of arguing with my mum about an answer and bab ywas kicking me - so I got distracted and i was right.... naughty baby!

flora brill news about your budgeting - and you might even appreciate work more when you get back to it eventually.

Went into school this morning to do research project, and had to pull the car over to throw up - but not sure how much was nerves. Only seem to be getting morning sickness once a week or so.

Right - going to bed now - very achey top bottom/back. Night! x

RunningKatie · 14/09/2010 10:06

Am getting the odd ache & twinge today, baby definitely wriggles more when I'm worked up. Had the day off yesterday, lovely day till I got a text from someone at work to say they'd been sacked. Really did not help my stress levels and baby is expressing their displeasure too.

DP has gone away with work till Thurs eve now so I've promised faithfully I will rest every evening and I absolutely will not fill my new bookshelves with all my books as it means hoofing all of them downstairs. :)

Hope the scan goes well cupcakes

Bubba - I'm very impressed your bump can kick off the remote control. We're not there yet!

Oh, finally, my friend who is also due in Jan has had a letter from her GP advising her to have a flu jab as she's pregnant. Anyone else had one of these?

CupcakesHay · 14/09/2010 14:21

So had scan - all went well - although i have to go back next next week to look at the heart again, as it was in shadow (something to do with way baby was sitting) - but he said not to worry... and i'm not.

And it's DEF a boy! So can throw out those receipts!

Plus it has long legs - def in the top percentile - but that'll be Dh's fault! So i think i'll stop getting 0-3m babygrows as I reckon it'll grow out of them too quickly!

running haven't heard anythign about the flu jab - but off to midwife's in 30mins, so i'll ask!

Ryuk · 14/09/2010 17:19

I had a doctors appointment and was told to come in for blood tests a week thursday so they can try to find out if i have gestational diabetes.

wail. :(

CupcakesHay · 14/09/2010 18:42

Ryuk It might be ok. It might just be a bad urine test day, and they take blood and you could be fine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

BubbaAndBump · 14/09/2010 20:12

Better also that it's diagnosed ryuk - then you can deal with it. Boo for you though :(

Flora 2 weeks before due date is quite normal - it's what I planned for both previous though by the end of #2 I was sooooooooo big and heavy I nicked off a week earlier. IMO it's better to have time off after than before as you just get fed up before waiting and waiting!

cupcakes I'm not finding out the sex (didn't find out for either of the others either - for me it works this way)

mad my first two were 17.5 months apart and play together fantastically now. Hard for the first six months or so (although 2nd baby is often easier cos you're more relaxed and confident too).

busy days at work, BubbaBubba stayed quiet most of the day but went mental at a very over heated senior leadership meeting !! :o

OP posts:
saltnvinigarcrips · 14/09/2010 20:16

Fingers crossed for you Ryuk. My sister had gestational diabetes and her and baby were both healthy. Cupcakes glad your scan went back and you are being positive. You must be so excited knowing the sex. We didn't find out but DH swears he saw a willy but I think all men probably think that lol. Still, i went to buy a babygrow on Saturday and most shops had a really rubbish selection of neutral ones so I was kind of wondering if I did the right thing by not finding out. Tempted to buy nice boy and girl outfit. How long can I Keep the receipts for cupcakes?

saltnvinigarcrips · 14/09/2010 20:16

I meant 'went well' duh brain!
