Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

If you get numbness sleeping, try sleeping on your left side. There's some major vein on the right which can get squished by the bump and slows circulation - it's ridiculous how difficult sleep is during pregnancy (it's probably your body's way of gearing you up for broken sleep once baby's here!! :o)

Thanks Flora - I've checked and I appear to be growing symmetrically. Although you have brought back memories of puberty when I didn't! Jeez, I'd managed to forget all about that. :)

Had a really clear dream last night all about the scan next week. I dreamt that in the scan we could see it was a boy even though we don't want to know.

Spoke to my niece last night who starts school today and her first question was "have you got your baby yet", then "I want to meet your baby". Poor love has got ages to wait!

BubbaAndBump · 01/09/2010 11:23

I've told my DDs they have to wait until after Christmas to meet their new baby brother/sister as they know that's a while away and it takes the pressure off with all the questions and expectations :) (although the way my bump is increasing, my mum's convinced it's going to come at Christmas! Hmm)

There's a sore hips thread here Flora and cupcakes here

CupcakesHay · 01/09/2010 16:02

Ta - i'll have a look. I'm rubbish at sleeping on my left cos i like facing edge of bed. Might have to swap sides with DH - but that'll confuse me!

BubbaAndBump · 01/09/2010 16:06

I swapped sides with DH for that very reason a few weeks ago to give us both time to get used to it before we had to (baby's cot is also on that side) :o

OP posts:
RunningKatie · 01/09/2010 17:08

I have the same problem as Cupcakes, but if I shift sides it's further away to the toilet for my night time trips Blush

Not that it matters with OH being away at the mo, I was spread right across the bed last night!

Hmmmm seem to have managed to spend over £100 on maternity clothes, in my defence I was bored, feeling frumpy and I did get 2 dresses, a jacket, a cardigan, pair of leggings and pair of tights. Decided in my pregnancy mind altered state that every other pregnant lady looks glam and I look rubbish. If anyone is looking for maternity clothes I got all if the above on Asos . com, seems nice stuff and pretty reasonably priced.
20 week scan tomorrow, very excited but worrying they're going to tell me bumpy is huge as I'm so much bigger than at this stage last time. That may be down to all the food I'm eating though :)

ZippyPippy · 02/09/2010 08:51

Morning all,

All the best with the scan today fuzzywood - I can't WAIT for my 20 week. I'm actually 20 weeks today but we're on hols next week so got to wait until the following week. We're off to Turkey for the last EVER relaxing holiday just the two us, so excited.

Hope you're enjoying your few days of freedom bubba, sounds wonderful! And sorry you still feel bad jjkm and flora, the sickness has got to go away for you both soon surely!!

Am starting to feel some little wriggles :-) is amazing and surreal at the same time - what about everyone else?

BubbaAndBump · 02/09/2010 09:07

It is lovely thanks Zippy :) Sitting here guilt free watching trashy telly, mumsnetting, skyping and generally doing sweet FA (although I did repair the shed yesterday and do a fair bit of tidying/clutter clearing).

Baby's kicking away, to the extent that it makes my tummy move on the outside already! It's gonna be a biggy again I reckon Confused

Holiday in Turkey sounds fab - make the most of it and enjoy!! :)

Soo jealous of your scan already Fuzzy - got to wait till next week for mine although already 20 weeks.

OP posts:
RunningKatie · 02/09/2010 13:23

Hope the scan was good Fuzzy - I only have to wait till Monday for mine. Seeing the consultant then too, no idea what to expect for that.

Am having little wriggles, at first I didn't feel them every day but now I do, seems to be mostly when I'm sitting at my desk. I do like them.

I know my stomach is expanding but I wish my lunches weren't mysteriously attracted to them. Last week I dropped tomato soup down two white tops, today I've got pasta down myself. You wouldn't believe I've been able to feed myself for 30+ years.

And my typing at work is going to pot, I keep wanting to email a customer called Charles and call him Charlies - that wouldn't go down too well.

CupcakesHay · 02/09/2010 13:37

OOOH turkey sounds lovely zippy... i'm jealous!

No real kicking for me yet - apart from the popping feelign the other night. but i did have my scan today - everything's good. And the doc is 90% certain it's a BOY! Quite excited! At least i have the boy's name sorted (although DH still not convinced, but I can work on that!)

Also - baby was in fab position and put one arm, then other up to his head and wiggled his fingers so looked like he was waving. Was so amazing!

fuzzy i think you're maternity spending sounds very restarined and sensible. And well done you for managing to look glam.

I still haven't put any moe weight on - which i think is a good sign - because as i was speakign to doc about it, before pregnancy i ate rubish food - then once i found out, i just started eating sensibly (morning sickness aside). Still don't think i'm showing, butlike i say - i'm a big girl so will take a while. but apparently baby is at right size, so happy with that.

I have just reaslied today how lucky I am to have had so many scans. maybe there's something positive about being pregnant abroad!

bubba - how can you say you're doing FA? You're growing a baby! plus - i bet your windows are still sparkling!!!

runningkate loved the charlies comment :)

Fuzzywood · 02/09/2010 15:09

Hi all, Cupcakes glad your scan went well. All good with ours too though did take a while as Bumpy was wriggly to say the least. I ended up with the bed (or whatever it's called) tipped back with my feet in the air to see if it would stay still for a few seconds. Can't quite get my head around the fact that the next time we see it is when it's born, I could have stayed there all day.
Bubba I'm extremely jealous particularly as DH is out most nights this week so having to work and then do bath and bedtime on my own. The no dummy for DD seems to be going well though yesterday evening was a bit awkward as one of the carers in nursery didn't read the notes and gave her a dummy for her nap. Just need to get her into a proper bed and potty trained in the next 20 weeks now. I love a challenge.
Hope everyone is starting to feel better. I suppose I ought to go and do some work now boo x

LadyBuzz · 02/09/2010 16:36

runningkatie I also have that pg symptom and did with the first 2, I constantly drop food down my front, and its not like my mouth is not big enough!! Grin

cupcakes congratulations on your baby boy how lovely! glad everything went well!

Does anyone have any nice boys names picked, we really struggle with boys, we have only ever liked 2 and have now used them both! we will be stuck if this one is a boy!

I have a couple of girls names picked, but I did have massive lists of them when i was pg last 2 times! and strangely neither of these were on those lists!

FloraPost · 02/09/2010 18:52

Thanks for the hips link Bubba.

We have a boy's name sorted. One of the middle names will be Joe after DP's much-missed grandfather. Has to be Joe, not Joseph, because it was short for Aubrey Hmm. Names which didn't quite make the cut were Fabian, Inigo, Bertrand and Nils - my taste veers towards poncey Smile.

Sorry to hear you're still feeling rough, jjkm. It fully sucks, especially with heartburn/indigestion too. I haven't been sick since Tuesday night, but still definitely feel it. Have you tried eating lots of antacids? I find they make the return journey more bearable.

Looking forward to the weekend - I have booked myself a massage by way of dipping a toe into the unexplored world of the beauty salon. I am not rank btw, just normally sort myself out. However, that will clearly get harder to do (waist down at least) from here on in!

BubbaAndBump · 02/09/2010 19:55

I love that Joe is short for Aubrey :o Brilliant! :o

Aubrey's sounding quite nice to me now...

And a massage is also sounding nice - damn, have no money. Must teach DH how to give me a massage (and then buy a massage table with a massive great big hole in the middle) Hmm

OP posts:
Fuzzywood · 02/09/2010 20:03

Apparently there are places that do massage for pregnancy that do have tables with holes in for the bump. No idea where, will ask friend who went.
We have absolutely no names so far, feeling uninspired and it was so easy the first time!

BubbaAndBump · 02/09/2010 20:09

Yes, I went to one with DD1 in my tum - felt lovely being able to lie on my front! :o

Also went post baby and the masseuse (posh word there, thank you very much) assumed I was pg cos of my flab :( and offered me the holey table :( Blush :(

DH and I are not agreeing on names. Well, I'm obsessing about them and every time I see the credits for a film, or read the birth (and death) Hmm announcements I check out the names. He'll probably get round to thinking about names a week or two after it arrives Hmm !

OP posts:
ZippyPippy · 02/09/2010 20:53

Ha ha! That made me laugh bubba how mortifying!!

GREAT news on the little chap cupcakes and glad to hear all well for you too fuzzywood - is all very exciting Grin

BubbaAndBump · 03/09/2010 07:44

Oh good. Pleased that my pain can at least be used for the good of other MNers Zippy :o :o

Hey! So we have our first confirmed boy from the late-Januaryers - great news cupcakes

Should update the list soon...

OP posts:
RunningKatie · 03/09/2010 09:42

I'm going to Champneys next month for a ruinously expensive Mums to be Day - I get a proper massage of the bump apparently. Just hope that there are no obvious stretchmarks then :) My running friends are going too and can have all the nice treatments that are banned for me, ah well, just lying around in a dressing gown for a day will be quite nice.

Boys names - we're going for George Matthew, the Matthew is for my brother who died last year. Asked my Mum if it was ok, and she was fine with it, then rang back 15mins later in floods of tears saying how lovely it was. It does worry me that George is the name of Peppa Pig's brother!

Right, I'm interviewing this morning for my maternity cover, so got to think of some interesting questions as to why they'd want to do this job for a year.......

Oh, and in the gym this morning, one of the personal trainers was touting for business - came to speak to me about a free session. So I asked if it was ok if I was pregnant - you should have seen him jump 10 steps back like it was contagious Grin

BubbaAndBump · 03/09/2010 10:29

Ahh, that's lovely to give your child your brother's name as a middle name. Sorry for your loss last year Running but it's agreat tribute. I also love the name George, but my DH is not so keen, must keep working on him.

V. jealous of your champneys visit - get them in while you can (with both time and money!)

Good luck with the interview - hope your 'replacement' :( is suitably good but not too good. (I cried last time Hmm Blush)

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 03/09/2010 14:42

that is lovely running lovely way to honour your brother.
If we have a girl her middle name will be Margaret after my lovely mum who died when I was 14, we are thinking either Lexi or Sia at the moment.

I quite like Seth for a boy but DH is not too sure, middle name will be Brian after DHs dad, not much seems to sit well with Brian though??? Hmm

Hope Champneys is fab, i too am very jelous! I did have a lovely indian head massage at the fessie so would love the full works!

I don't get a mat replacement I'm just not that important lol, I work for the NHS and they are stopping every job that is not deemed urgent so my colleague is stuck! which will serve her right for being a cow the last time poor girl Grin

CupcakesHay · 03/09/2010 16:01

I agree with everyone. Lovely thought about your brother running - and George Matthew sounds lovely. I know 2 LOVELY georges - one about 30 and one about 12 and both are so nice.

Well - the name i'd 99% sure on is Jesse William. DH is slowly coming around to the idea... although spoke to a few friends about names last night and they all poo-poohed Jesse, apart from one guy who came round to my thinking!

I also like Daniel, Luke, Harrison and Atticus. harrison is DH's fave - but I still a bit iffy about it. Daniel and Luke are lovely - but both in top 20 - so a little put off by them. And Atticus is amazing IMO - but NO WAY can i get that past my DH.

I also love Duncan - which is my brother's name - but don't want to use it!

ladybuzz i like Seth too - very nice.

Grin bubba love your comment about not being important enough for mat cover - just hope you don't work at the maternity ward in Devon!

Friend said last night - doesn't it feel like a parasite living inside you??? Made me wonder if I was ever like that when I was younger!

Flying home on Monday! Can't wait - i'm having fish and chips on tuesday night - yay :)

Hope you all have lovely and and very relaxing and not sicky weekends!
