Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

Poor you flora - still icky sicky then. I haven't thrown up for 4 days... so hopefully mine's finally gone. (sorry don't want to make you Envy!)

I also wanted Atticus - like in To Kill A Mockingbird - but Dh laughed....

I'm trainging to be teacher - so I've already got put off of so many names that I liked and I'm pretty much last of friends to have nicked all the names I like!!!

I just want to figure out name before birth as want to get registered asap, so we can get passport off asap, and then get diplomatic passport and then get visa for here! MAD!

Should find out thurs if it's a boy or girl. i'm far too excited!

Anyhow - off to have my second bowl of chilli for the day - had some for lunch, and now dinner. Blush - it's homemade - so it has loads of veg in - so quite healthy - that's my reasoning!

FloraPost · 29/08/2010 19:19

Not Envy at all; hope the good run continues for you. I haven't actually been sick so far today, woohoo! Friday was epic though, one lot came up completely scarlet and I momentarily thought my time had come until I remembered I'd been scoffing bluberries and raspberries all day!

You have fab taste in names, Atticus is veh good. DP has said no to Cecily, Alma, Miranda, Heloise, Celeste and Albertine (humph). I might start a thread in baby names. We agreed on a boys name quite easily though.

BubbaAndBump · 29/08/2010 19:37

You have to be tough skinned to start a thread in baby names. Faceless MNers are even harsher! Wink

I like Scout! We could have a whole family of To Kill A Mockingbird kiddies :) (Our 2nd DD is often called Boo as a nn)

So sorry you're still experiencing chunder-thunder Flora, I really feel for you :(

OP posts:
FloraPost · 29/08/2010 20:15

Boo is really sweet.

I know, I think any putative thread would be to gather new suggestions rather than get views on ideas I've had. Frankly, I need all the help I can get seeing as I only come up with rubbish names Grin.

You know, I can cope much better psychologically with the whole food losing thing now that I don't expect it to stop. I wonder how jjkm is getting on in that direction?

BubbaAndBump · 29/08/2010 20:22

btw, once you've gone through labour, your DP will gaze at you adoringly and admiringly and (sneaky cow that I am) if you announce the name you're desperate to call your baby in those moments, I'd be surprised at any bloke who put his foot down then. (especially if you manage to make it seem like it's his suggestion - blokes are weird like that :o)

Any first timers feeling the little wrigglers yet?

Fuzzywood · 29/08/2010 22:12

Good plan on the names Bubba, we completely agreed first time but I've gone off the boys name we had 2 years ago. DD's name is a bit unusual so trying to think of something along the same lines without sounding like we tried too hard if that makes sense. I met a very nice man called Atticus on holiday last year, lovely name.
We took DDs dummy away from her yesterday do I'm knackered after a long night last night then a day out at In The Night Garden live today (for all you first timers in the UK, In The Night Garden will become very important in your lives!). Hoping for a quieter night tonight.
Hope Flora and anyone else still feeling poorly is better soon x

eightisseventoomany · 29/08/2010 22:35

Ohhhh, I loved the name Scout....and wanted it for one of mine.....however, when it came to naming our child at birth, I couldnt for the life of me remember what the name was !!!!! wasnt till months later, I remembered .....thats pregnancy brain for you !! Grin

CupcakesHay · 30/08/2010 12:04

Yeah - I love scout too - but no chance with DH. Also like Jemima at moment (again NO!) but def like your plan bubba of doing it straight afetr birth.

Have felt odd thing down there, but not sure if it's baby or something else... I think i'll wait for proper obvious kicking!

I've heard of in the Night Garden - my friend said it's awful to watch as adult - is she lying?

fuzzy how old is your DD?

flora love the blueberries and raspberries - so funny! Like something on the awful birth stories thread that running katie linked us to!

I ordered a baby monitor today... oh the thrills! I just want to go home and pick baby clothes and interesting things. Actually DH was dead keen about the baby monitor and went on recommendations from friends, reviews and other techie stuff - honestly- most interested he's been so far Grin

Fuzzywood · 30/08/2010 13:44

DD has just turned 2. In The Night Garden is just weird but hey keeps them quiet for a while during the witching hour before bed! CBeebies is my friend! Before I had DD she was never having a dummy, wasn't going to watch TV until she was much older, I'd never bribe her with chocolate and she'd never sleep in our bed. All things which have gone out of the window. Sometimes you just have to do what it takes to get through the day with your sanity relatively intact :)
Its all more than worth it though. We've got our 20 week scan on Thurs, getting very excited now about number 2, if it's half as wonderful as DD it'll be fab.

LadyBuzz · 30/08/2010 18:27

Hello, Back from a fab weekend at a festival, the weather was fab and we are all rosy from the sun but completely knackered, i'm looking forward to my own bed tonight!

I have read through but i'm so tired I can't remember who said what Grin

I'm finally starting to feel a little better but that might be because I have not gone longer then about an hour without eating since thursday Grin i've prob put a stone on!

Hope everyone is well.

Glad the festival was fun LadyB - were you at Reading? Did DSs go too?

lol Fuzzy I was the same pre-DDs - no dummy, no tv etc etc. Went out the window at about 4 months with the 'no dummy' rule, and 'no telly' def. went out the window with being pg 2nd time round then with DD#2 being born Blush :o

2nd+ timers - be ready to be jealous... DH goes back to work on Weds, DDs start full time nursery/pre-school on Weds, cleaner has her trial run on Weds a.m. ~ I go back to work NEXT Monday. THREE FULL DAYS TO MYSELF IN A CLEAN AND STAYING CLEAN HOUSE :o :o

bubba no we were at Solfest which is near Silloth in Cumbria. It is quite a small family friendly one so we did take the boys, they loved it, DS1 has made every craft item under the sun and we barely saw him!

I'm ignoring your third comment Grin Grin lucky lucky lady!

BubbaAndBump · 30/08/2010 19:26

I'm sooo overexcited by it akshly LadyB! :o don't know what to do with myself :o

Festival sounds good

Hello all

Lovely, lazy weekend, just bliss. Sadly OH has now gone off to Finland, last time he was working there the ash cloud descended and it took him a week to get home. Better not happen this time as the next scan is on Monday. Can't wait, I'm beginning to get really excited about it.

Flora - this won't make you feel better, but my sicky feeling is finally lifting. This weekend I've even managed a veggie lasagne and sticky toffee pudding as well as boiled eggs, none of which I've touched in the past 14 or so weeks. :)

I think we're sorted on the name front, although I keep hearing names and thinking I like them too. Jemima was last week but I've been overruled on that!

CupcakesHay · 31/08/2010 11:00

runningkate Jemima is my top name at moment. Was sitting there thinking Jemima if a girl, Jesse if a boy. Lucky DH was away last night - otherwise i think i would have beaten him up to say yes. Grin

Pleased everyone's finally felling well enough to eat lasagne and the like. I'm still marching on fine on that front.. although gutted as friend is having cheese and pate party at weekend - and I reckon it might just be cheddar for me - none ofthose yummy french squidgy cheeses!

ladyb festival sounds amazing - like the fact that you didn't see your DS! How did the wellies and leggings work out?

I'm planning dummies for sure - as I've heard they're very helpful with flying and ears popping for little ones - so def not discounting them. And as for bribing with chocolate - well... DH always uses that technique on me - so I imagine he'll prob do the same with any toddlers! Wink

I should be studying today - btu I can't... i'm just in one of those moods! I went through mamas and papas catalogue this monring circling loads of things i wanted but would never buy! I'm turning mad i think.

bubba how many DCs have you got. Very jealous of cleaner. I'm so bad at cleaning!

No obvious buimp for me yet - but I was big to start with - so it takes longer to show apparently.

Also - think i might have felt baby last night. was sitting in bed, and randomly just felt like a little pop inside of me - like someone had just burst bubble wrap on me. Didn't feel like wind/indegstion or anything i've ever felt before...

BubbaAndBump · 31/08/2010 11:19

Ahh Cupcakes sounds like the first little kick! Just love it! I only have two DCs so far, but aged 3 and almost 2, and about to start a new job full time (high level promotion) so unlikely to have any time/energy in the evenings, nor will DH who will be doing most of out-of-nursery childcare. We see it as investing in our marriage! Hmm

My exciting day so far has consisted of cleaning the windows (my God it's made a difference - shame on us Blush - amazing what a bit of vinegar and washing up liquid can do!), cleaning out the garage (again!) (hoping to convert it before #3 turns up), repairing a blow-up mattress, re-packing our camping box (after DH had had a go and failed to fit most of the stuff in Angry) and entertaining the children. About to make cheesecake - I really need to get back to work soon! :o

RunningKatie · 31/08/2010 13:46

Hmmm, smugness comes before a lunchtime heave. I forgot to have my mid-morning snack so by the time I ate my lunch it very nearly made a rapid reappearance. :(

I think I'm getting stretch marks too, on one of my boobs Blush

BubbaAndBump · 31/08/2010 14:26

Oh poor you on both fronts Running - def. little and often for the food, and despite what some of my friends say about stretch marks (who didn't get many, but neither did their mums/sisters/maternal grannies etc), creams won't do any good. It's in your genes I'm 'fraid :(

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 31/08/2010 15:20

cupcakes the leggings and wellies looked good, the three hoodies furry coat, festival hat, scarf gloves topped it off nicely Grin

running poor you, hope OH makes it back in time!

We have a few names ideas - no boys names we have used both of the ones we agreed on so if it is a boy poor thing might not have one for a while Grin

My lovely lovely SIL came to watch the boys while I was at work today and has cleaned my whole house and done 3 loads of stinky festival washing. She is fab!!

FloraPost · 31/08/2010 21:29

Only on one boob? I'd be more worried that one is growing and the other isn't Wink.

BubbaAndBump · 31/08/2010 21:57

Nice Flora :o - bet Running's glad you brought that to her attention! :o

OP posts:
FloraPost · 31/08/2010 22:15

Sorry, that was inappropriate. I'm sure everyone's tits are inflating perfectly symetrically. I'm in an odd mood, 2 friends had babies at the weekend and it brought home to me how long this whole enterprise takes. I can barely remember a time when they weren't pregnant.

Does anyone else have sore hips?

BubbaAndBump · 31/08/2010 22:45

"I'm sure everyone's tits are inflating perfectly symetrically." pmsl :o :o

not sore hips, but bad lower back, but I imagine sore hips would be part and parcel of your bones getting ready for birth - check out SPD symptoms though, I've had that for all three pregnancies and it feels like a permanent pelvic muscle pull. Wouldn't be surprised if hips were also affected...

OP posts:
CupcakesHay · 01/09/2010 08:55

I have sore hips at night - kind of numb - and toss and turn and annoy DH, but fine in day.

flora my boobs are GIANT and symmetrical! :)

One of my cats threw up this morning, which caused me to throw up Sad - so not a ncie start to the day.

Plus DH was up with stomach upset in night and i slept very badly - and have friends coming any minute now and wish (without being nasty) i hadn't invited them cos I can't be bothered to wear a bra and i want to just go to bed. Evil aren't i?
