Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

bubba yes its my 20 week although I think i'll be 19 I can't wait. DH has agreed to find out the sex so doubly exciting. I didn't know with the first 2 but I have mountains of boys clothes to either sort through or get rid of depending!
Mines on my first day back to work Grin

jjkm i'll cross mine for you too!

BubbaAndBump · 17/08/2010 16:47

Well if mine turns out to be a boy and yours turns out to be a girl, we can do a clothes swap!! Although I won't know until January as we're still not going to find out for this one until it's born...

Feeling heavy and bloaty today, and massively out of breath so have just stocked up on the old iron pills - grimness.

How is everyone else getting on?

ZippyPippy · 17/08/2010 20:51

Welcome back bubba!

I heard the heartbeat at my appointment yesterday which was great, seems ages since the scan. Still seems crazy there is a baby in there, thought I might have felt it move a couple of times but could have been wind Blush is it a similar sensation!?

Oh yeah and the midwife told me to bring my own urine samples to appointments in future in 'any type of sterile container' - like what!? Is that normal??

BubbaAndBump · 17/08/2010 21:14

Hey Zippy, good to be back. I know what you mean about finding it odd there's a baby in there, and I already look huuuuuuuuuuge, but the heartbeat still surprised me! Hmm

No, not normal to be asked to supply your own containers! Shock Pop to your GP's and ask for a urine sample container or two for an upcoming appt - I normally pick one up from either GP or mw for the next appt at the current one so I can bring it with me rather than pee there and then (iyswim) - maybe your mw just meant to bring one with you??

Yes, initial flutters can feel like the first bubbles of wind!! Blush (Told you there'd be plenty of TMI from me :o)

Another emoticontastic post from me I'm afraid Wink

bubba thats a deal, with my organisational skills it will be Jan before I get round to sorting anything anyway Grin

Have you tried spatone for the iron problem? its natural iron enriched water you take it in juice, it isn't bad and it doesn't turn your poo black!
Or floradix v- good but really really minging!

zippy we get ours given too and replaced at each appointment.

I'm knackered today been ou

LadyBuzz · 17/08/2010 21:40

that should say been out partied yet again by the boys Grin

BubbaAndBump · 17/08/2010 21:51

I went to buy spatone today, but it was £8 for one month's supply for 34% of recommended iron intake, as opposed to Boots' own tablets at £3 for two months' supply of 100% RDA, so it'll be black poo for me for a few months. Ahh well, it'll keep the girls amused! Blush

I'm secretly looking forward to going back to work full time from Sept for the autumn term ~ teenagers at school a lot less tiring than my two DCs. (Forgetting the immense guilt I'm feeling about it all that is!)

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 17/08/2010 21:56

Shock thats gone up since my last pg! I think i'd go for the black poo too!

don't feel bad, i'll happily palm my 2 off at the drop of a hat Grin I love them to bits but i'm exhausted!

BubbaAndBump · 17/08/2010 22:10

Yeah, I think it's gone up massively - I had a huge box of it last time and although we weren't as broke as we are this time, it certainly wasn't that expensive.

Hey ho, another of the joys of pregnancy :o

How you getting on Flora? You there or still clinging to the porcelain throne? :(

OP posts:
FloraPost · 18/08/2010 04:35

Yup, me and the bog, we're like that! Bad night tonight; energetic vom just before bed, woken up twice by the fucking cat wanting to play and another 3 times by painful acid. The box of rennies is significantly lighter than it was at 10pm.

Had a good day at work though, which is an achievement. Also had 16 week midwife appt and she was lovely. The sickness isn't bad enough for them to do anything about, which is what I expected. Apparently the baby is a good size and all is well except that my blood pressure is a bit low (more crisps please omnomnomnom).

What's this iron lark? Do I need to do that or is it only if you are anaemic. Not eating greens or meat, so did wonder.

BubbaAndBump · 18/08/2010 07:33

Oh poor you ~ don't mean to make light of it - it will pass - honest! Seriously mine stopped at pretty much 16 weeks last two goes, so hang on to that hope!

Re:iron - I've been anaemic with both previous pregnancies, and am feeling more tired than I normally do at this stage (and slightly breathless), and as I don't have another mw appt for 3 weeks, taking matters into my own hands and topping up on iron to give my blood a fighting chance.

LadyBuzz · 18/08/2010 16:45

oh god i've just had the MW on the phone, my tests showed and increased risk of neural tube defect, I have to go for another scan in the morning. Sad i'm terrified.

BubbaAndBump · 18/08/2010 17:39

Oh goodness LadyB you poor thing, you must be so worried. What will they scan for tomorrow? Are there extra things they can scan for to check? What time's your scan?

OP posts:
Fuzzywood · 18/08/2010 18:07

Hey all, currently on holiday in Scotland with the out laws and taking a day off ( playing the pg card) so in a very large and lovely house all by myself with a good book. Flora sorry to hear you're still poorly, hope it passes soon. I now seemed to have moved onto the next delightful side affect of being pg and have horrible constipation so desperately stuffing fruit in my face.
LadyB you poor thing, I hope it goes well tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

LadyBuzz · 18/08/2010 18:18

thanks both, its at 9:50 in the morn, apparently they check the brain for anencephaly, and they look for holes in the spinal column which would indicate spina bifida. the MW did say though the scan will confirm one way or another so I will know for sure.
Everything is crossed for it being a blip.

BubbaAndBump · 18/08/2010 18:23

And will you know immediately?

I've got everything crossed for you too sweetie. Don't google anything as it'll only worry you even more I'm sure. Try to occupy yourself with your boys and then with a DVD and a wee glass of wine tonight. Is your DH able to go with you tomorrow? Can you offload the boys onto someone else for the morning?

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 18/08/2010 18:58

yes I will know there and then which is good.
DH can't come he is away until Friday Sad but SIL is coming and other SIL an DN are having the boys!

I'll spend the night on facebook that will keep my mind busy lol

BubbaAndBump · 18/08/2010 19:03

Well we're here for you either way, I'll keep fingers, toes and everything possible crossed for you tomorrow and will be thinking of you in the morning. Best of luck hon.

x

BubbaAndBump · 18/08/2010 20:36

OP posts:
FloraPost · 19/08/2010 07:37

So sorry to hear that LadyB, will be thinking of you this morning. I guess any risk, no matter how small, has to be checked out. Everything crossed for you that all is well.

ZippyPippy · 19/08/2010 09:16

Thinking of you this morning ladyb hope it goes well x

LadyBuzz · 19/08/2010 12:08
