thanks tic tac, not wonderful just mad i think!, i was watched really carefully in all my pregs and will have my booking in next week at hospital and wont ever see the community midwife, with dd2 i saw the consultant for every visit and also had monthly bloods for my thyroid function and was seem in day assesment weekly once past 26 weeks.
excellent news on your 4d scan-cant wait to see your pics!
my booking in and scan was cancelled this week and rearranged for next friday was so dissapointed.
hope every one else is ok

TicTac · 06/08/2005 21:42

Quiet on here tonight space. I can't believe you are only just having your booking in scan. You will be 14 weeks (your due date is same as mine) by the time they scan you!
That's part of the reason we are having the 4D scan, our next NHS scan (20 week one) isn't until I am 23 weeks and I figured that was a really long wait. Plus if there is anything wrong, I really want to know sooner rather then later in case we have to make any "decisions" IFKWIM.

Did you notice there are 3 of us due on the 11th Feb (assuming yours doesn't change once you have been scanned)?? My collegue/ friend is also due 11th Feb, it's going to be a busy month isn't it!?!?

sorry to trespass, i'm on the due in september thread and just wanted to say that i had a 4d scan 9 days ago at 34 weeks and it was fantastic. the pictures are great and the dvd is even better.

spacecadet · 07/08/2005 18:17

tic tac, i had a scan 2 weeks ago because i had some bleeding, so ive cheated a bit, she did a check of the baby and the placenta etc and said everything looked fine, but as i was under 12 weeks then, she wanted to rescan again, however my appt in scan and clinic were cancelled last friday, die to unforeseen circumstances, i got a pic, now i can resize photos, i may take a pic of it with my digital camera and post it(hope i dont tempt fate), looks like early feb will be very productive!

womba1 · 07/08/2005 19:37

Hello Ladies!
If i get caught on here by my dh and dsc, i'm going to be in big trouble!! We have had my dsc here since Thursday and they're going home Wednesday... and i promised them that i wouldn't use my laptop at all while they're staying!!
So, just a quickie to say hope everyone is doing well and catch up with you all on Wednesday..
Ta ra for now x

Frizbe · 07/08/2005 20:33

Hi all, just a quick hi, have very quickly skimmed the thread, and glad all seems to be ok with everyone, I need to look at buggies too Ixel, so let me know if you find a good one!
Hotmama, another girl! congrats, ooooh making me wonder what we're having now......

ixel · 07/08/2005 20:41

What age gap are you looking at for buggies? Ds will be 27months when this one comes, but he'll still need a seat for shopping trips. I'm not being helpful here, I'm hoping to pinch your ideas when you've had a look round

spacecadet · 07/08/2005 21:48

have posted a scan pic on member profiles of bean 2 weeks ago when i had a bleeding scare and had a scan, theoreticaly ive had my 12 week scan, but will still have another

TicTac · 07/08/2005 21:58

JuA · 08/08/2005 08:08

I have felt much better this weekend - hopefully the end of mornig sickness is in sight. I have been forcing myself to eat something every 2 hours even if I don't feel like it - and it seems to be working.
I have no idea what pushchair to get - I had my heart set on an E3 for bump and dd - but twins have ended that dream!! I haven't got a clue what to get - and also don't know how well dd will walk she will only be 26 months. I think I will end up with a double and use a sling for one of the babies to start with.

TicTac · 08/08/2005 09:39

Oh Jua....there is so much to think about isn't there! You could grow an extra set of arms...that might help

I'm back!!!

I'll try and read through all the posts later, but as you can appreciate... I'll need a spare hour or two!

Holiday was lovely, but I missed DD terribly (kept crying when I saw toddlers )

Morning sickness has finally eased, but by evening time I look about 5-6 months size!!!

Scan is Tuesday 16th

TicTac · 08/08/2005 10:09

Jua - shock of her life, is having twins
Space and Teuch - have both posted scan pics on member profiles (and they are fab)

Hi Everyone,

I will have to get a computer set up at home so I can post at the weekend instead of sneakily doing it at work all the time! I am beginning to feel better and actually stayed up until 2am on saturday night which was such an achievement for me! I have also officially gone 7 weeks without a cig so am feeling very pleased with myself and it does actually seem to be getting easier too.

Went shopping with mum on sat and we both kept cooing over baby things but we have both said we will wait a little while until we start buying yet. Not sure how long I can wait though! I have decided on the nursery theme and just want to get going.

chloe55 · 08/08/2005 11:13

Jua it must be so exciting having twins but soooo much to think about too, I think you will probably have to go for the sling option - haven't seen may three tier pushchairs to suit a 26mth and newborns!

My MIL is a midwife, good in some respects but a nightmare in others. I mentioned to her about using a sling more often than a pram for going shopping and things, she mentioned that she didn't agree with them coz what if you fall etc etc, I kinda see her point but still don't like the idea of lugging a pushchair/pram everywhere so don't know whether to go against her opinion anyway what are other people's opinions/experiences in using slings?

flamesparrow · 08/08/2005 11:20

Ooooh - don't get me started on the whole "if you fall" arguement! You could fall carrying a child down the stairs! You could fall pushing the pushchair, knock it ahead of you and it go flying into the path of a bus!!!

A woman's natural reaction if she falls carrying a child (sling or otherwise) is to turn to protect her child.

Didn't really know much about slings for DD, so looking forward to using one for this one!

TicTac · 08/08/2005 11:27

Morning Chloe. Has your MIL been plying you with oodles of "must do's" then?

OP posts:
TicTac · 08/08/2005 11:32

Go flamesparrow! You're right though and I think you could come up with a huge amount examples where we potentially put children in danger. Makes me laugh that a pushchair is the first thing you push into the road.....

OP posts:
chloe55 · 08/08/2005 11:49

Well that was my argument too flame! I don't reckon I will let my DH wear one though because he is honestly the most clumsy bloke in the world and he will openly admit to that but you're right, I will go with my first instinct and get myself one.

TBH my MIL is not too bad. I have already told my DH that I won't stand for any inteference but advice is welcome and I think she knows that too. I cringe the way she speaks to my BIL though (he is quite timid), I feel sorry for him sometimes because he is underminded from time to time and I will go absolutely ballistic if that happens to me.

I go over to see them about once a month and she has listened to the heartbeat and advices me of what I should be eating etc and when I got pains and bleeding in the early stages she was very helpful and concerning, it was nice to have advice on tap when I need it.

popmum · 08/08/2005 12:50

Re slings: Have you EVER fallen over (when sober!)? I never have and so I couldn't imagine ever falling over just cos I was wearing a sling!

Flamesparrow - when you said by evening you look about 5-6 months gone, do you mean you get bigger during the day? Cos I think i do too, but I didn't know if it was just all the food I eat!?
