me and my doppler get on like a house on fire!! I only use it once or twice a week...like this weekend after being away for a few days I felt like I had been 'missing' bubs!

I was finding it higher for a while but sometimes it takes a while to get it now and it's low or waaaay over to one side...I reckon the uterus has grown so much and the baby is super-acrobatic!!

I can't feel any movements but baby teuch likes to jam him/herself down next to my cervix (did it during scan) and I can feel a sharp twinge...wierd!

spacecadet · 04/08/2005 12:35

womba, poor you it dores sound like sciatica, the problem with sciatica is that walking etc just makes it worse, i suffer from it and had accupuncture during my last preg for it(im a bit clapped out), anti-inflammatories are good for sciatica but musnt be taken in preg.

Oh and I forgot to tell you...DH and I had a falling out last night. To cut a really long story short we have had loads of conversations about telling his parents. He has no relationship with them and they live in Canada (coincidence we are going to Canada for a holiday). We both agreed he would not tell them until we go to Canada at the earliest or after the 20 week scan. They have nothing to do with us and I didn't want in-laws all of a sudden trying to muscle in on anything. I am a simple person in terms of if you a part of my life you have access to everything...if you are not, then you have access to nothing. ANYWAY! Both agreed not to say anything and DH was happy with this...then yesterday, without a word to me he goes and tells them!!! He used it as a....here's what can happen when you don't get in touch for 7 months..

Sorry for long rant but I am well peeved off about it!!!!!

Oh no Tictac, it was very insensitive of your DH to go behind your back and I completely agree with your way of thinking re the interference factor even though they don't have much to do with you. On the other hand there's no point letting them be the cause of an argument between you and your hubby. At the end of the day he has told them now - maybe it will prove a point to them that he has told them over the phone as appose to face to face?

TicTac · 04/08/2005 13:10

Your right Chloe but I think the old hormones are in force so there was a lot of grumpy grumpy last night! I am not so angry today but do feel betrayed...

Hi all
I have had a rough couple of days - I am feeling very overwhelmed at the thought of 2 babies plus dd who will be 26 months - if we go to term. I expect my plans for a VBAC will have gone out the window - I don't know if I will be allowed to try or if there is any point and at the moment an elective section seems the preferable option to me although last week it was the last think I wanted. I have my 20 week scan on Sept 23rd and an appointment with my consultant the week after so hopefully then a few things will be sorted out. I will also get scans every 2 weeks from 24 weeks I think, to check the babies are growing together.
I have a horrible cold and it has made me really sick and my appetite is non existant - I seem to throw up if I eat too much or if I leave it too long before I eat - I can't win!!

teuch · 04/08/2005 14:03

I don't think DH's generally understand how vulnerable we feel at the mo (I barely understand so what chance has he got?!)

My 'BIG' issue is that MIL apparently felt at her top during pregnancy, more energy than ever PLUS gave birth without any contractions ...how she knew she was in labour is anyone's guess!

TicTac · 04/08/2005 14:27

JuA - Big hugs....I can't even begin to imagine how the 2 babies scenario must be feeling. I am with you on the sickness though
Did you get my email?

Teuch - My MIL only went into hospital for her usual check ups only to find she was 9cm di and DH just fell out (might explain a lot)..all I can say is she must have been pretty wide down there for it to happen that way

On the subject of MIL, mine told me last week that hubby and his sister both were drinking out of a cup at 3 months and potty trained at 6 months! Do you sometimes get the feeling you wont feel "up to scratch"?

TicTac · 04/08/2005 15:04

Stuff em all 3K!! My dads partner has been telling me how I should not buy toys and use pan lids instead as babies love the noise....WHATEVER!!! Mummy isn't going to love the noise of pan lids being whacked around the house!!!

Sorry, in a funny mood today. Just gave DH the phone number for our bank so he can check out how much £ is in his ISA, I got the numbers 444 and 888 the wronf way round. He just called me back to tell me that the police gave him the right Natwest number!! Apparently there is a police station with the number 08457444888 and the Natwest is 08457888444.....how funny!!!

Oh and 3K....did your MIL express her breast milk into a mug then?!?!?!

OP posts:
3k · 04/08/2005 15:09

No but apparantly she breast fed till they had teeth!!!! I said I will try breast feeding but if I cant do it then I cant do it!!!!!
Also had lectures about money and not going mad etc, I said to my mum last week "whose baby is this anyway????"

I'd stick with the teddy bears too, pan lids will drive you nuts!!!

We will all have to stick together and plan ways to fight the MIL's off.

TicTac · 04/08/2005 15:16

LOL 3K...I intend to breastfeed to but a) Not until it has teeth b) Not via a cup

Fight the MIL....fight the MIL!!!

I guess because it is 1st baby everyone wants to be involved and have their say...my own mother keeps telling what to do. Already got dragged into a conversation about "You will let me have it for the odd weekend wont you"...she lives 250 miles away, expects me to drive baby all the way there, disappear for a couple of days then come back and collect. Oh and there is a small point that my mother and her husband (not my dad) are bothe smokers and I am a bit of the anti christ with that (really don't mean to offend if your smokers).....this conversation went on for about half an hour. In then end I phoned my Dad and told him he will have to have a word with my mother....I was only 10 weeks preg at the time...how many demands are going to be put on us when our beans are actually in the world???

All that aside, I know the intentions are all good

I'm off home in 10 mins so if I dont post again have a good weekend as I'm not in tomorrow.

I've spent most of today on this website and sending e-mails from Yahoo!!!

Whoops!!

3k · 04/08/2005 15:19

They do mean well but they do pee you off!!! It's like all the horror stories people tell you when you tell them you are pregnant. One person even said to me "well dont come near me then" I replied that it wasnt catching!!!!! Some people just try and make you feel bad and there is no reason for it and I know that my MIL will wind me up when the baby is born, I will have to have a word with hubby and tell him to tell her to back off.

JuA · 04/08/2005 15:21

3K - how did she sit them up on a potty at 6 months???
Tic Tac - yes I got your email - I just have not got round to replying yet - but I will!
My MIL is mostly great - she just can't stop buying dd presents - she already has loads of Christmas and birthday presents for her - my mum and dad end up buying her boring useful things that we need rather than toys - there is only so many toys I can fit in my house. Mum and Dad are going to get her a bed for her birthday!

3k · 04/08/2005 15:22

Apparantly they were walking by then too!!!

Honestly, they must have been superbabies!

TicTac · 04/08/2005 15:34

LOL...Jua on the potty at 6 months!!

That's really good of your parents to get practical stuff isn't, could save you a fortune!

My mum and 1 of my sisters have been buying clothes etc but my other sister said she will buy practical things for me like nappies, monitor etc....Think it's really sweet.

Hi everyone - the dds and I have had really horrible gastro since the weekend but we are just about getting there now.

kando, did not manage to ring your hotel for the obvious reasons above! Don't know how to contact you now. If you read this and can get into your email, I've sent you my phone number so that we can arrange to meet up for a coffee. Hope to speak to you soon!

JuA, I'm positive that once the babies arrive, you'll manage just fine. The same scenario happened to friends of ours and it took time to get to grip with some of the practicalities, but they were into a manageable routine surprisingly quickly (according to them).

BarefootMama · 04/08/2005 16:04
