ooh, excellent flame, i have felt some taps too.

bp 120 over 70
heard baby with the doppler, midwife had to sort of press it in on my side, she said it was cos of where the placenta was, could hear loads of movement on the doppler, this one was not keeping still!

cori · 25/08/2005 19:04

Sorry for butting in here. Just thought I'd let Spacecadet and Tabs know that I got a BFP yesterday, will be due in May (fingers crossed)

spacecadet · 25/08/2005 20:09

Tabs · 25/08/2005 21:04

Cori - did you not see my message on the ttc after a m/c thread yesterday? Congratulations - am really pleased for you

cori · 25/08/2005 21:15

Thanks girls.
Sorry Tabs missed that one. My head was in a bit of a spin yesterday. [smiley]

chloe55 · 26/08/2005 08:51

Hope everything goes ok at the wedding TicTac - so the dress still fits then?!

Tabs have a good time at the reeception.

Flame - I've been feeling a few unusual little tappy feelings over past few days, great isnt it!

Cory - Congrats!

Won't be around myself after today until Tues, can only get online at work (thank god I have found something to make my working days go quicker !

flamesparrow · 26/08/2005 08:55

With DD I was about 20 weeks before my clothes started to get really snug.

I'm now 14 weeks, and normally a 12-14.

Getting ready to go out for GCSE celebration meal last night, and put on my size 14 (a large 14 too) black trousers... and the zip wouldn't even go up an inch!!!

Will take photos at the weekend, but this is getting silly.

Gonna be in maternity clothes for the wedding in September I think (unless I can get stretchy hipster black trousers!!!)

chloe55 · 26/08/2005 09:12

Flame I am 16 weeks and don't fit into ANY of my clothes and haven't done for a couple of weeks! This is my first too so thought it would be longer before I started to 'show'. I need to get some maternity clothes really, bought a lovely wrap over dress from River Island the other week for a wedding which looked lovely as it flattered my bump instead of just making me look fat !

ixel · 26/08/2005 09:17

I'm currently living in one pair of low cut combats, and one pair of trackie bottoms, and the tops are creeping up and up my tummy! Last time I only needed to buy one pair of maternity combats, which I didn't wear till about 24 weeks, and used my normal tops.... so I'm determined not to go up the loft and find them till much much further on! I'm already in the bra that I got for the very end of my last time!! I feel very big and flabby this time, and already want it over so I can atart losing weight and running again. But thats how I felt with ds, and somehow never had the time...!

Tabs · 26/08/2005 10:57

I don't fit into many of my clothes either, but that's because they're all too big!!! Makes it hard to work out what size to buy when I'm shrinking but growing at the same time!!

Had midwife appointment this morning. She found heartbeat straight away which was about 140, so fairly consistent with what I found earlier in the week. Blood pressure was fine, and blood results were back from hospital and all clear. She had me worried for a while because the HIV result was missing, and she said that they are normally all put on the sheet together, so I got her to phone the hospital and check. All fine though (phew!) so don't know why they hadn't included it in the list.

Don't have to go back for 7 weeks now, as I have my scan to break up the time between now and then anyway.

spacecadet · 26/08/2005 16:52

ive still got my maternity trousewrs from dd, the way my stomach is suddenly expanding, looks like i could be in them sooner rather than later

flamesparrow · 27/08/2005 11:15

I hunted out my old maternity trousers, but I think I must have passed em onto someone else

Think I'll wander round some shops later and see what I can see - my hipster jeans are starting to get uncomfortable too now

I'm aching much more in my pelvis this time too... I think that could be more down to not resting after that bug last weekend... as soon as I started feeling better, I went right back to normal

I'm planning on starting aqua natal in September - anyone else?

JuA · 27/08/2005 17:27

Ordinary clothes - I think mine have all become a thing of the past for me! Apart from one pair of trackie bottoms nothing fits me and I am slowly sorting out the suitcase of maternity clothes that I have just got back from my sister.

I have just got back from a couple of nights away in Scotland - we went up to surprise my Mum (who was on holiday up there) for her 60th birthday! She had all her 5 grandchildren there (altogether for the first time as Ellie is only 12 weeks old). It made me quite broody and a bit nervous - you forget how much little babies need to be cuddled and I am not quite sure how you manage that with 2!! I am sure there must be a way!

spacecadet · 27/08/2005 19:20

you should seek advice from TAMBA, about looking after twins, i cant imagine having 2 newborns!
flame-you wont catch me in a swimsuit! anyway i have dd at home so couldnt go to anything like that.

TicTac · 28/08/2005 14:23

Hi all,
Hope you are all well. I am just stealing 5 mins before friends turn up (they are already late). Wedding went well although the dress was vey uncomfortable after dinner! If I could have undone it a little I would have been a very happy lady

I am shatered today though. Could do with a day on the couch with DH but alas....that aint goona happen. We have put these friends off for ages but they have finally caught up with us.

I am so pleased it is the bank holiday tomorrow, although I really need to pack for holiday on Thursday! Wouldn't be too bad but I am working Tue/ Wed and am out Tue pm with my dad so time is short...oh so short.

I felt some more movement this morning and got the old doppler out because I felt like I had ignored tictac for a few days with the wedding. Anyway, found the loudest heartbeat I have had so far and she stayed in the same place for a while so I was able to get DH in to have a listen too. Was beautiful moment. Todays beat was 158 (has been 162). I assume that's still ok!?!?

Right, best get off. Good wishes to you all and I will be back tomorrow possibly!

Gosh it's quiet on here! Am up at parents house now but brought laptop with me, and DH set up a wireless network here at Christmas, so easy peasy to carry on posting!

Nothing much to report except for having a busy weekend. Oh, and that DH got to hear Chip's heartbeat for the first time on Saturday morning.

Hope you're all busy having fun.

flamesparrow · 29/08/2005 23:19

Tired, hormonal and grumpy.

So nothing new there then

ixel · 30/08/2005 08:30

Not sure if I'm really that tired, or just taking the piss while dh is on hols from work!
Am definitely feeling very unfit and breathless though.
Also desperate to feel a bit of movement now... nothing so far.
Oh well, at least the bathroom is finally getting retiled now dh has 5 days off! Have only been waiting 5 months for him to make a start!!

chloe55 · 30/08/2005 08:54

Morning everyone,

Glad to hear the wedding went well TicTac and don't worry Ixel I'm sure you'll feel some movement soon, I keep feeling something every so often but wonder whether sometimes it might just be a bit of bubbly wind

Feeling in a grumpy mood because DH has p*ssed me off all weekend. Went to a BBQ on sat and I left him there when I went home because he'd had a few and I was quite happy for him to stay but then he proceeded to roll in an an unearthly hour. Then last night we were meant to be watching a video and he went out again and stumbled in at 2am sorry, had to share that with you because I am sooooooo mad that he thinks this is acceptable! It's hard because we would both like to have a few drinks and come home when we felt like it but it really winds me up that I have accepted responsibility for our unborn child and he hasn't yet. Don't get me wrong, I think he will make an excellent dad and can be responsible but then he goes and has a weekend like this where he has obviously enjoyed himself and I've just felt like shit. Gosh, I'm so sorry for boring you all with my rant this morning

TicTac · 30/08/2005 09:29

Morning all,

How quiet has it been on here!! Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend!

Ixel - I am sure you will feel something, I think I have but can't be too sure.

Chloe - I think you have a right to be a p*ed at your DH. It is so hard to switch from enjoy a few glasses of wine to absolutly nothing, more to do with it being a habit but of course the blokes don't have that sense about them. I guess they just think they best get all the late nights in now before baby comes...of course our late nights are over the day we get that BFP! So it hits us with little warning. I am sure he will get there in the end!!

Flame - So your feeling very preg then hun???

Hi All,

Sorry not typed a message for ages, I haven't really had any news to talk about but have been keeping up to date with all your postings.

I had my 16 week antenatal appointment a few weeks ago and all was well. I have to go back to the hospital at 32 weeks as they want to keep an eye on me because "Delbert" is an IVF baby and they just want to keep tabs. I have 20 week scan booked (at 21 weeks) on 23rd September. I feel time is going really fast sometimes we will be half way by then - YAY!!!!

Past few weeks I hit the hormone stage, very moody and snappy and tearful. I cried last Friday because I pulled over and let an ambulance past - I then thought what was at the other end and burst into tears!! Feeling a bit better now thankfully.

Have decided cant wait any longer to have boobs measured, I'm bursting out of everything and also to my horror I had clear liquid coming out of right boob Friday night!!! OMG! I know it's normal but wasnt expecting it. I'm off to Mothercare on Friday to have a measurement and to invest in some proper maternity bras along with work trousers as feeling like a beached whale all of a sudden!!!

kando · 30/08/2005 14:10

Hello ladies! I'm finally back online after what seems like an eternity away! Good to hear that everyone is doing OK - sorry to hear lilysmum's news, that broke my heart.

We seem to be settling down to life in Holland, even after only a month. The house is fabulous and the two dds love it to bits. We finally managed to register with a doctor, who has to refer me to a gynaecologist, which can't be done until our medical insurance papers are through, which won't be done until the woman comes back from holiday ... Still, we are registered, although I'm very keen to get an appointment with a gyn as I've had no contact with anyone since we left the UK, which is 5 weeks now. I have felt a few flutterings but I would like something more definite! 5 hours after we got to our hotel in The Hague, DH was running out the door with dd2 to casualty - she was looking at my cup of tea and grabbed the saucer instead of the edge of the table and spilled it all down her arm. I was so shocked at how quickly it blistered up - it took me literally 3 steps to get her to the bathroom and get cold water on it but it had already blistered by then. So she came back with a bandaged arm and suppository painkillers! A day or two later, she then came down with chicken pox (which she caught from dd1). Thankfully her arm is now fine, and they have both recovered from chickenpox but lets hope this is not the way of things to come!!!

Sorry for rambling on. Should really get back to the dds, or even out in the garden as the sun is beating down outside (for a change - most of the time since we arrived it's been raining!)

Can't tell you all how relieved I am to be back online, and back on Mumsnet! This thread has grown to epic proportions - and we still seem to have so long to go!!

chloe55 · 30/08/2005 14:18

Glad to hear things are going well in your new place Kando and sorry to hear about your dd burn episode - how frightening .

I am becoming a little concerned about all this leaky boob talk. My boobs are becoming very painful again (had not been hurting for a few weeks), I am 16 weeks - will I be expecting some fluid soon too do you think? Call me naive but I didn't think any of that started happening until at least 30 weeks arrgghh!

Tabs · 30/08/2005 14:19

3K - my scan is the same day as yours! Can't wait!

TicTac · 30/08/2005 14:28

Welcome back Kando!

Chloe - I am with you with the concern over boobs leaking etc..

My boobs are not nearly as sore as they were but all the same they still"ache" when I take my bra off. Also, my nips are a little blue at the end of the day....any clues??
