Teuch - thinking of you today.

Had an antenatal appt last week - still got a due date of 1st Feb - so am staying on this thread - got my detailed scan on the 22nd Sept - I will be nearly 22 weeks - it's going fast girls!

My dsis had a ds last Monday morning - I forgot how small and wobbly they are - he was 8lb 4ozs so not a small baby. DD is only 101/2 months - so I can't have forgotten already!

As a matter of interest how is the weight gaining going with you lot? I put on 4 stone with dd - not going to do the same this time.

I have put on about 12lbs to date - how does this compare with your stats. I know I will put on more than the recommended 2 stones (basically I am a pig given half a chance - and pregnancy is a good excuse - isn't it?)but I am trying not to be too excessive as I think my 'interesting' delivery last time could be partly attributed to my big weight gain.

TicTac · 22/08/2005 13:54

Hi Hotmama1,

Your right, it is going really fast. Christmas will be here in no time at all and then we are nearly there!

We had a weight gain chat a few days ago and I hate to tell you I have only put on half a pound so far (into 16th week). I have A LOT of excess weight anyway so that might have something to do with no weight gain?!?

teuch- i know how you feel, it is my due date on weds of my little girl that i lost at 16 weeks in march, i think thats why im feeling so tearful and bad tempered.

Tabs · 22/08/2005 17:59

teuch and spacecadet - perfectly understandable how you are both feeling. I hit my due date in April, before I was pregnant again, and think that I had built the day up into such a big thing beforehand, that I was surprised when it actually passed fairly uneventfully. Hugs to you both.

Hotmama - I've lost 15 lbs since date of conception, but have been following Slimming World, which is safe to do whilst pg, so I'm not a typical example!!

TicTac - a link just for you

spacecadet · 22/08/2005 18:22

thanks tabs, im dreading it, its my birthday aswell and i just want it to go away, thats why i thought my bean was meant to be, being due on my birthday.
and at you losing weight! wow, over a stone!

TicTac · 22/08/2005 19:36

Tabs - PMSL!!! Very funny!

Space - happy birthday hun

And big hugs to Space and Teuch. I can't imagine how you might feel...I just hope the days pass withough too much pain for you.
I would have to hit a chick flick and the strawberry cheescake icecream

Evening All... jeez i'm knackered... I think i'm going to be in bed by 9pm!
So, what have i missed?? I appear unable to read the thread... it's scrolling really fast from top to bottom!
I hope everyone is blooming and feeling great? I'm doing ok most of the time but have had the odd wave of nausea and i can't bare it. I didn't feel at all sick with my last 2 pregnancies who were both boys... so maybe this is a girl?! And, i already have a very prominant bump and am feeling flutterings of sorts. Oooh,i want to know now... lets hope peanut isn't feeling shy on the 10th Oct when i have my scan!
Tictac... sorry if it's old news but have you managed to get your 3D scan arranged while on hols?

TicTac · 22/08/2005 21:43

Hey Womba, 3D scan booked for the 12th Sept which is in the final leg of our holiday NHS scan is on 6th October but I will be about 23 weeks or something by then so sulking that it's quite late hence the 3D scan.

Also hired a doppler and wasn't too happy coz that wasn't working out but Teuch and Tabs offered some good advice and I found TicTac yesterday!
Glad your back on with us again

womba1 · 22/08/2005 21:55

Brilliant news Tictac! I'm so envious that you're having a 3D scan but incredibly pleased for you... and as for hearing tiny Tictac... how exciting!
I'm just wondering if i should be having any kind of check up with my mw during the next few weeks, as i haven't got anything booked. I haven't heard peanuts heartbeat yet and it's rather a long time to wait until my scan at 22 weeks.
what is the general concensus on here about finding out the sex of our babies?? Half of me would like to wait until the birth but i just know i'm too impatient.. and my dh is even worse.
It's great to be back

Tabs · 22/08/2005 22:01

Hi Womba - good to have you back . I think that curiousity is getting the better of most of us, so we're hoping to find out the sex. I would definitely like to, so just hoping that they can tell now that we've decided that!

TicTac · 22/08/2005 22:04

Baby sex - well we have gone in circles with this one. I think the upshot is we will more then likely see for ourselves on the 3D scan so might not be able to not know IYKWIM. although we have said we will keep it a secret if we do find out.

It is a really personal decision isn't but I think if you want to know...know and if not, don't!

I start my ante-natal on the 19th Sept but they didn't seem bothered as to when I went so why not call your GP surgery (assuming your MW calls in there for a session) and book yourself in! If you want some reassurance I wouldn't even think twice!

Let us know how you get on Womba!

Tabs it'll be your luck that your bean is not in the right place and being uncoperative on the day You might have to have some choccy to get it moving around a bit....shame (grin)

Oh I got Tictac on the doppler again tonight

Tabs · 22/08/2005 22:09

Best go armed with a twix just in case then eh?

womba1 · 22/08/2005 22:14

Hi Tabs...at one point i was hoping that it would be my hospitals policy not to tell the sex, as i knew if faced with the possibility of knowing, we'd give in and find out. My dh and i have said that we aren't going to tell our families if we do find out, but he'll find it impossible! My dh is a typical Irish man and once he opens his mouth, everything just comes spilling out and theres no shutting him up!
When we found out i was pregnant, we agreed to wait until the 12 week scan to tell anyone. My mil happened to ring the evening i did the test, and what was the very first thing he blurted out??? Yep... we're having another baby!! I could have killed him but i suppose it shows how excited he is... bless him!

Tabs · 22/08/2005 22:14

Off to read my book in bed now. Night night all - don't let the bed bugs bite xx

TicTac · 23/08/2005 08:42

Morning...hope your all bright and breezy. Whats going on with the weather....ho, cold, hot, cold or is that just me??

chloe55 · 23/08/2005 08:58

Morning everyone,

Great news about the doppler TicTac, I guess patience is a virtue!

My DH and I are contemplating finding out the sex aswell. At first I wanted to know and he didn't but the tables seem to be turning and now he thinks he does want to know and I'm not sure. This is our first baby and when speaking to mothers a few say that the only thing that keeps them going at the end of a gruelling pregnancy is the surprise of finding out. I like surprises, DH doesn't, oooh just don't know.

spacecadet · 23/08/2005 09:17

very of all you with doplers, i prob would struggle to find anything through my flab!
i have a clinic appt on thurs,so im hoping that the midwife will listen to the heartbeat, i have to have all my appts at the hospital, while waiting to see the consultant, the midwife does your obs and checks tummy..i feel very nervous though, dont know why!
had a friend to visit yesterday whicjh was great, but boy do i feel tired today!
omg, i am 33 tomorrow!!!!!(why cant i be 23 again!!!)

spacecadet · 23/08/2005 09:21

i am booking another babybond scan, i cant afford a 3-d one but i want to have a private 2-d one, the scan i had with dd2 was fab, i got to find out the sex and have a lovely video to keep, dh is moaning about the cost.
gosh, soon be time for your 3d scan tic tac!

chloe55 · 23/08/2005 09:30

Just out of interest - how much is that 2d scan gonna cost SC. Me and DH didn't get a 12 week scan and still 5 weeks off my 20 so getting agitated now.

TicTac · 23/08/2005 09:40

Space - Flab is not an issue with the doppler at our stage of preg. Tabs gave me some reassuring words when I was um and arr ing for the same reason. I have rented one for £19.99 a month and eventually found the heartbeat. It still takes about 20 mins or so but I do seem to be able to find it!

Less then 3 weeks to my scan

Just had a look at the 4d little clips on the babybond website - they are amazing, I am so TicTac!!

TicTac · 23/08/2005 09:55

Chloe...we are only able to have it since it is about £80 with the exchange rate for Canada

Morning all
Everyone is starting to sound lots more cheerful on this thread! I felt good last week - tired (whats new?) but then was being sick again on Sunday - I think it was some sort of bug because dh was sick too!! However we are both better now and dd seems fine (fingers crossed).

I am intending doing lots of resting in the next month and hopefully staying healthy. We are off to Scotland on Thursday for a couple of nights to surprise my mum for her birthday and then going on holiday to Ireland for 2 weeks on September 3rd - I can't wait!! I have my 20 week scan the week we get back and an appointment with the consultant the week after so I am going to become a regular at the hospital!

We are going to find out the sex of our two! I wasn't going to before I knew there were 2 but I think knowing will make me more organised?? not sure how!! and we are really struggling to come up with 2 girls names that we like at the moment so that may solve that problem!!

chloe55 · 23/08/2005 09:59

I know TicTac, I would be doing exactly the same if I could, believe me! What a lovely keepsake you will have for when TicTac is older too. My mum said they never even did 2d scans as routine when she had me and it would be lovely to have even seen a scan picture of me all shades of grey but to have something so clear as a 4d scan would be fantastic to look at.
