How can anyone just leave it there???

Good for you for sorting it out (and getting "involved")

I've been having a fun morning too... DH phoned me at 8am (on the one morning DD had let me stay asleep ) to tell me that he has squished his car into the back of someone. He's fine, the other car doesn't seem too bad apparantly - the guy is finding out cost of repairs and then they are deciding if they are insurancing... I dunno what our car is like though - its squished but still goes. Will go to garage tonight.

Argh! That car doesn't like me being 12 weeks pregnant... at the same stage with DD I did exactly the same thing to it!!!

TicTac · 18/08/2005 09:33

Chloe - Sorry babes but I am with your DH on picking up a dead cat while preg!! Your local council have to remove on the same day if you call them!

Sorry you have had a poo morning though!

Oh no flame....what a nightmare...I think today is the day to stop home and chill in the garden if your preg...it is clearly not a safe world out there!

chloe55 · 18/08/2005 09:48

Oh dear Flame, between us what a morning although I think yours beats mine!

I put on a pair of rubber gloves and dettolled immediately afterwards, I have 2 cats of my own so I am aware of the dangers but toxoplasmosis is carried in the faeces so I really was not putting myself at risk although DH panicked because it was covered in blood - but I was very careful. I couldn't just leave it there in the soaring heat for children to wake up to. If he was so concerned he should have moved it himself but he scares easily when it comes to blood! God help us in 6 months time!

Tabs · 18/08/2005 09:55

Morning ladies - well let's hope it's safe for me to venture out into the big wide world today, as I'm going on another MN meetup v shortly. We're going to an open farm, and the other ladies are bringing their kids, so will be good to see some of the joys that I have instore!

Just wish I wasn't feeling so tired and sick this morning - didn't sleep as well as normal, so that's probably why.

chloe55 · 18/08/2005 10:33

Have fun at the farm Tabs. Did anyone watch Lost? Thank god I have something to occupy my wednesday nights whilst DH watches footie and Desparate Housewives has finished. God - where is my life?!

TicTac · 18/08/2005 10:36

Good luck out there Tabs

Chloe - some how my Wednesday nights tend to get busy. Went round to a good friends yesterday, she cooked dinner which was a first. Had a great night. Although it did mean I missed Lost. Did anything happen?

OP posts:
chloe55 · 18/08/2005 10:40

I'll email you the latest just in case people have taped it and will want to watch it!

TicTac · 18/08/2005 10:44

THANKS!

YeahBut · 18/08/2005 11:04

So glad to find other "Lost" addicts! Had to tape it last night, though because we're an hour later over here and the E4 episode wasn't on 'til midnight our time. Will watch it tonight when I'm meant to be packing for our hols tomorrow! Catching the 6.30 am ferry tomorrow which means a 5am start, yuk!

TicTac · 18/08/2005 11:16

Ooo where are you off to Yeahbut?

OP posts:
flamesparrow · 18/08/2005 12:07

Thanks for emailing... think I would have cried if you'd posted on here (went to see Charlie and Chocolate Factory last night so taped it)

chloe55 · 18/08/2005 13:25

Thought that would have been the case Flame - what did you think of Charlie? I quite liked it but not as good as original (never is though is it?)

womba1 · 18/08/2005 16:04

Hi Everyone,newies and oldies!
I haven't been around for a while as i've had family staying and i made a concerted effort to not even open my laptop while they were here... God, it was bloody difficult! But now they've gone and my fingers are just itching to type!
Hope everyone is doing great and that this awful hot weather isn't making you all feel too exhausted or sick?!
I haven't had a chance to read this thread yet but will do so this evening... am looking forward to cathing up with you all again!!

I'm back ladies. Had a fab day out, and remembered to stay away from the sheep etc, and not buy any butterscotch curd from the farm shop as it had whole egg in it .

Am knackered now though - can't stop yawning - all day in that lovely sunshine and the walking and talking has worn me out! I'm such a lightweight!

TicTac · 18/08/2005 19:38

hi Tabs...glad you had fun on your meet!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 18/08/2005 20:42

Glad you enjoyed your meet to!
I've been wretching all day, at the slightest smell, but so far no actual goods if you get what I mean! and dd's lost wupwup, see other thread for details....off away for the weekend, so enjoy yourselves without me!

TicTac · 18/08/2005 21:51

A concerned me here....(sorry for harping on)
No heartbeat with doppler (Chloe you where right, I tried it again!)
Stopped being sick, been ok for 7 days
Feel fatter then usual
Feel like I am in limbo until 20 week scan
At what point will I believe this is really going to happen??

oh I feel such a wuss even telling you all this but I don't know if what I am feeling is normal. I am a really upbeat person usually but I just seem to keep filling myself with doubt!

at myself for being like this!

HUGE SORRY...

OP posts:
Tabs · 18/08/2005 22:25

Oh TicTac - now I feel guilty for recommending that you get one! Remember that it took me 8 attempts before I first found Chip's heartbeat, and even now I'm still not finding it really clearly, although there is one bit of my tummy where the readout give a believable number, even though I can't hear heartbeat at that point.

Did you see Teuch's suggestions to me on this thread from last week? I was being very light and gentle for weeks, but it seems to work better if you press in a bit. TicTac's reaction will probably be to run away from the prodding, so then be prepared to angle the sensor a bit, and go slowly.

popmum · 18/08/2005 22:49

tictac, that is exactly how i feel - except no doppler so don't know on that score. I think it is just a real in between period where you will have stoppped feeling sick cos that is 1st 12 weeks and bump is hard to see yet cos baby is not very big yet. Have you got a 16 week appt? I have next week and may ask them to check heart beat.
Am sure all is fine with you!

TicTac · 19/08/2005 06:16

Tabs - Don't be feeling guilty at all! There are lots of interesting noises in there and it isn't the doppler making me feel all out of sorts. I'm glad I have to try

Popmum - phew...it's not just me then! I don't have any more appointments until 19th September and I will be 19+2. That is just my first ante-natal appointment. I do have a 3D scan booked on the 12th September though so I will get to see tictac in a few weeks.

I feel like I am waiting to "bloom" but not sure if it's happening or not..

Has anybody weighed themselves recently? I did this morning and am delighted to see I have put on only half a pound! That's despite my really crap eating habits since I fell preg!

OP posts:
chloe55 · 19/08/2005 08:59

Morning girls,

I knew you would try again TicTac! Speak to your friends sis and try and persuade her to have a listen for you this weekend to put your mind at rest.

No idea how, or even where it has gone put since becoming pregnant I weigh 8lbs less! I've felt sick but only thrown up a few times thoughout and to be honest I have been a bit naughty and gorged on icecream for the past few weeks. I look like I have gained about 2 stone though so don't know what's going on there.

I'm kinda at the stage where I am getting bored of restricting everything and banning things. Went out with work yesterday and lasted about 2 hours coz really wanted a fag and a drink and was just tormenting myself being surrounded by people who were! - God I hope my cravings don't last throughout. And don't even get me started on the food front.

flamesparrow · 19/08/2005 09:53

I've been being very bad and eating pate on and off ... I dunno what it is about me, I'm not bothered about it too much either way normally, but I fall pregnant and crave the stuff! (Both pregnancies now)

I'm rapidly growing, but I have actually lost 2lb (that doesn't make me feel much better though cos I was about 1 stone overweight when we started, so I still look fatter than I want). I'm looking more bumpshaped by the day - my friend very kindly told me that it was overeating shaped , but then I got to point out that I'd lost weight and got bigger, so it was clearly bump

Very tired still, and irrational hormones have started to kick in more - keep losing my temper very easily, and feel tearful lots!

Big hugs to everyone - good luck with your Doppler TicTac... I'd love one, but I know I'd be a mess if I couldn't find a heartbeat.

chloe55 · 19/08/2005 10:01

Yeah mines definitely a bump now Flame but DH just thinks it's icecream coz he can't believe how much I am showing for 15 weeks which really p*sses me off. I thought partners were meant to think you are ultra sexy when pregnant but I catch glimpses from DH where I see him looking at my tum in disgust - I'm sure it's me being over sensitive at the mo but it really hurts when I see him .

I had a good week last week where I felt happy and not sick but this week I have been feeling crappy again and very emotional

I want pate, I want pate (might have to sneak some - you're a bad influence Flame!)
