Flamey Scan

ixel · 17/08/2005 08:25

Morning. In my dream scenario, I'd love a home birth, but there's no way thats going to happen. I'm far too prone to complications! Very envious of anyone who is good at giving birth!!!

chloe55 · 17/08/2005 08:43

Your scan picture is great Flame, you can see the little legs and arms perfectly. Ooooh, don't think I can wait til 20 weeks now, might have to book an early private scan having not been given my 12 week - miserable hospital! (As you can see I'm still quite bitter!)

TicTac - did the doppler come?

TicTac · 17/08/2005 11:54

Flame - What a fab picture! You must be chuffed as mint balls!!

Doppler came this morning and I made myself really late for work trying to get a heart beat. I think I found the placenta but no heart bit...tut, I wanted this to be dead easy and find it first time...LOL....maybe later!

Hi folks,

Had appt with mw this morning to get bloods taken for the screening tests so should have those back within 10days. Got my notes and made her explain EVERYTHING?apparently I have an anterior placenta which should muffle movement and heartbeat but it doesn?t so I have a theory that it is in fact fundal?which would explain why the top of my bump is solid!! Only put on 4lbs so far as well which is good as I need to keep on top of the weight gain

Fabby pic flame!

I went to my 16wk physio antenatal last night with DH ? was long but very good ? and have now been going to ante-natal yoga for 3wks which I am really enjoying.

Good to hear everyone is feeling a bit better!

TicTac - there are lots of threads with top doppler tips so have a look! you'll get there...

TicTac · 17/08/2005 12:53

I thought a placenta was a placenta...not lots of different types....HELP

Hi Ladies,

Flamesparrow, I noticed you went to Royal berks for your scan. We're moving to Newbury soon, I'm hoping to have baby at Wallingford. You scan was very interesting, if I had one now I guess it would look very similar.

I'm flying to NZ next week. Thank goodness I'm over the nausea thing!!

teuch · 17/08/2005 13:53

don't panic...just refers to the position of the placenta!!

posterior (back) anterior (front) fundal (top) and placenta preavia (sp) is when it is lying over the cervix (and is the only one we need to worry about!)

TicTac · 17/08/2005 14:32

Oh blimey...there is so much I don't know. Do you get told all this at some point?? I just called the hospital to ask if they had my bloods back (remember my blood trauma) oh well now they say if I have anything to worry about they will get in touch with me at some point....what the bloomin' eck does that mean?!?!?!
I'm tired
I feel a bit icky
I want to go home
I don't feel pregnant
I want it to be Christmas
I want to find a heartbeat with doppler

AND... I just made a total tit of myself in work! I have got 3 blokes working with me and one just sent me an email called "bad parenting" it was a series of 3 "funny" images...I couldn't help myself and burst out crying!!!!!

chloe55 · 17/08/2005 14:48

Oh no TicTac. I think you should take some lieu time and go home to the doppler! And, don't panick if you don't hear the heartbeat - remember that midwives do that for a living so it is bound to take a little bit of time.

Men can be soooo insensitive.

chloe55 · 17/08/2005 14:56

Lucky you Mrs DoLittle, I could just do with a trip to NZ. DH is desparate to move there but I'm a mummy's girl and daren't live more than 10 mins away from her!

Tabs · 17/08/2005 15:12

TicTac - tired and icky sounds like you do feel pregnant to me!!

Forward me the e-mail then if it's worth a look!

Teuch - you'd recommend yoga then? Had you done normal yoga before? A friend from another forum has given me the number for a class near me, but I haven't got around to phoning yet.

MrsDoolittle · 17/08/2005 15:20

Well chloe, dh is Kiwi. I won't leave home, so we shan't be going to NZ to live either.
Thank goodness he doesn't want to

TicTac · 17/08/2005 15:34

ROFPMSL!!!!!!

flamesparrow · 17/08/2005 16:54

Mrs D - I was at Royal Bournemouth and not Berks too many Roayl B's in the world!

I couldn't believe how clear the scan was... I was expecting a much more blob like image than baby like at 12 weeks...

MrsDoolittle · 17/08/2005 17:01

I see. My mistake - sorry!

TicTac · 17/08/2005 17:12

Tabs,...what is ROFPMSL? I use PMSL as peeing myself laughing but don't get the ROF

Oh and still no luck with doppler....where might tictac be???

flamesparrow · 17/08/2005 17:12

TicTac · 17/08/2005 17:23

Morning everyone.

Had the worst morning, got in my car to come to work only to find that some git had run over a cat and just left it there p*ssing blood for all the kids on our street to walk past. so, I got out of my car, took of his collar, put him in a bin liner, did my rounds on the street to make sure he didn't belong to anyone and took him to the vets, leaving my details. The vet tried to charge me for his cremation and DH had a go at me for picking up dead cats whilst pregnant and 'becoming involved'!
