try a kiddies toothbrush, they are much smaller so you don't gag!

Yeah I am working. I work full time but because of the big changes work is rather feast or famine at the minute and it is during the famine days I feel worse since I have time to think about how I feel!

If you could split maternity leave I don't think I would have much left by the time tictac comes along...I certainly would not be in at the minute!

What do you do Chloe?

I use to veterinary nurse for 5 years but my practice moved and I didn't! I decided I would have a break due to trying for kids anyway what with all the anaesthetic gases, lifting, cat bites etc etc. Moved into full time admin just to keep a bit of cashflo coming in but I hate it sooo much. I am bored out of my brain - like you it is either busy or quiet and when I say quiet I MEAN quiet. Like today - nothing whatsoever to do. Part of me really regrets leaving nursing particularly on days like these.

TicTac · 16/08/2005 10:09

Chloe, I am happy to entertain for the day but do you have email? It might be better to chat off line of the thread otherwise it will get way too long. I am on my work email at the moment if you want to drop me a line. [email protected]

Chloe lol, parrrrrp!

FS any news, hoping all is well for you, I'm drumming my fingers until this afternoon, scan at 3.30ish.....dum de dum....better get on with the accounts then, bboooooo hiisssssss, the downside of self employment!

Tabs · 16/08/2005 10:52

Gee thanks for reminding me Frizbe. Gotta do my VAT return this week as well as sorting the info for last year's accounts some time.

Ah - you might actually already know the answer to a question I was going to ask my accountant (yes, I know I'm an accountant myself, but tax, come on!!). Obviously I pay my tax bill in 2 lumps at the mo, in Jan and July. Next year I won't be earning due to mat leave, so is there anyway that I can get out of handing over lots of dosh to the revenue before my annual accounts will be submitted?

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 10:59

To be honest Tabs I don't honestly know! I was employed when I went on maternity last time, and boy have they messed up my tax credits in the meantime! daft plonkers put down that I was still earning employeed amt for this last year, which as I went self employeed after 6mths maternity, I sure haven't been, thus I've been rather short of cash help for the last year, which when I get my accts back shortly and tell them my actual amts earnt for last year, they're gona have to pay me big time!!! tee heee.....

Tabs · 16/08/2005 11:01

Nice when it's that way round eh?! Ah well, will ask my accountant next time I speak to her and let you know if you haven't already found out by then.

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 11:08

Sounds good to me! which reminds me to chase them for last years accts again, as have to get Tax Return in very soon now...

flamesparrow · 16/08/2005 11:26

Back!!!

Spark was a tad unco-operative! There is just one baby in there, and it matches up to my dates perfectly .

Was in the wrong position, so I got sent to pee, then to have coffee and chocolate to make it hyper and move, and then to pee again - it finally moved into the right position then!!!

Very low downs risk (one in 4000 or so).

Got to see Spark hiccuping!

chloe55 · 16/08/2005 11:31

Wow Flame that's great news - maybe it's a good sign that you have a lazy one - you might have some good nights sleep - my little Nemo is apparantly an acrobat, maybe I should cut down on the coffee! Did you get a picture?

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 11:32

Yeah! FS great news!! ooooh I hope they send me for choc n coffee!!

spacecadet · 16/08/2005 11:34

flamesparrow · 16/08/2005 11:35

Space - Good to hear that you are feeling much better and you must have a lovely DH who is willing to stay home and look after you, or is it just an excuse for him to skive work?! Saying that, a sickly partner a hectic children - maybe he will prefer to be a work!

spacecadet · 16/08/2005 12:19

chloe, he didnt stay at home on sunday and sat, he packed the kids off to a friends and went to work, he finally succumbed when the 2 youngest got sick!.

Tabs · 16/08/2005 17:48

Not back yet Frizbe?

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 17:49

Back now! had to pick up dd from Nursery!

All is well so far as we can see with my little bump, oh and its just the one! we're measuring right for dates, so 27th Feb it is! we have a heartbeat, two arms, two legs and fingers n toes! bubba even 'looked' at the scanner as it went over, as if so say, what are you bothering me with that for! and glad to say (not) that I'm still feeling sick in places...

Hope all ok?

spacecadet · 16/08/2005 17:51

great news on the scan frizbe, its really wierd when they look in the direction of the scanner isnt it?, i got a lovely face shot with my last but one scan

Tabs · 16/08/2005 18:01

Fab Frizbe! Are you the last of our clan to have a scan now, so we're all okay for entering second trimester?

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 19:18

Crikey I could well be? I think there are a few people on the list after me still tho, just one or two?

ixel · 16/08/2005 20:59

Hello all. Well, finally had my first midwife appointment ( and first blood taken .. yuck... had forgotten about that!). Got to listen to the incredibly clear heartbeat, which was lovely. On the down side, she has decided my BMI is far too high, so I'm being given an appointment with the dietician. I'm not eating the best diet, but its really to do with not being able to run now, and having kept on weight from the first pregnancy. Its very depressing to hear someone else call you fat though .Also have a hospital docs appointment booked, as she decided my last preg was very complicated!!
We had a day at the beach on Friday, so thats ds's summer holiday taken care of.He loved it, all apart from falling face first in the paddling pool. I'm such a bad mother. How will I look after two of them??!
If anyone goes back to the naming subject, please give me some ideas for one syllable unusual boys names!

TicTac · 16/08/2005 21:13

Evening..
Great news Frizbe...few I so we are heading to the sencond trimester...great!

Well I am on my 6th day of not being sick although I feel a bit rough!

Ixel - My BMi is also too high but I am not seeing anyone special I have been offered to a gestational diabetes test which I agreed to but given my blood trauma I am going to ask if there is any other way of knowing/ testing etc...

4 days to Xfactor!
